I will never recommend this company to anyone again! If I could give no stars I would. I had JD Service Now come out to install a brand new Trane heating and air conditioning unit May 25th 2018. I had to wait two weeks for the technicians to be able to come out to install the unit as they said that they were swamped with work at the time. The unit was installed by Chris K and Neil F, sales person was Josh K aIl were very polite and seemed knowledgeable of their job duties. Seven months after the unit was installed my husband and I began to notice that the unit was making a loud noise. At this point the unit was still under warranty. JD Service Now sent out a technician for our first inspection after install. December 6th 2018 Roy R came out to do the inspection and at that time we complained that the unit was making a loud noise. He also assessed the unit in which he stated that the unit was in fact noisy on start up but he didn't feel that anything needed to be replaced at that time. September of 2019 the unit was still making a horrible noise so when they sent out technician Rotley L for yet another inspection I complained again to him. Rotley stated that the bearings were extremely noisy but again nothing was worked on and the issue wasn't resolved. In April 2020 I noticed that the unit was still making horrible noises and at that time they sent out a technician by the name of Noel for yet another member inspection and I once again complained about the noisy unit. He stated that the fan motor was loud on start up but again, nothing was ever replaced or fixed. September 18th 2020 I had had enough of no one actually fixing the issues with the noisy unit so I called to speak to a member of management. I was then transferred to manager Tim. I complained that the unit had been making these noises all while under warranty and no one actually fixed the issue. I was told by Tim that that the fan motor could not be removed from the unit until it went out completely and at that time they could remove it and send it off to the manufacturer for diagnostic testing in which would cost me over $200 if there wasn't an issue with it. I explained to him that I shouldn't have to pay anything for these issues being that the unit was under warranty and at that time Tim told me that my unit was no longer under warranty and that I would have to pay for services. He was extremely rude and inconsiderate and had the attitude of a mongoose! Friday February 12th 2021 I called once again because at this point my units fan motor had quit working completely and it was extremely cold outside. I spoke to Kimberly who was very friendly and asked to speak to the owner John Diets. She explained to me that John wasn't in the office yet but a short time later someone by the name of Preston returned my call. I explained that I have had this issue since 7 months after the unit was installed by this company and I wanted it fixed once and for all. He told me for them to come out and replace the fan motor it would cost me well over $600.00 plus a $99.00 service fee. I told him that being on a limited income with my husband and I both being on disability that I simply could not afford that. He then told me in a snarky voice that "well since you're no longer a member with us the best I can do is take $50.00 off the bill". I told him that I still could not afford that price and he then replied "well fee free to take your business elsewhere, to a mom and pops company, maybe they can get you fixed up for cheaper but that's our going rate!" At this point I became pretty irate and called my son in law that use to work for this company to get the owners direct cell phone number. I called John Diets personal cell phone that Friday evening, I got no answer and left a detailed message asking him to return my call as soon as possible. I still got no response! To quickly get heat in my home I had to resort in calling another local HVAC company Warren-Hay Mechanical. They came out promptly first this morning and fixed my unit in around an hour and only charged me $105.00. Side Note: I initially went away from the "Member Plan" because every time I turned around they would never come out to do my plumbing inspections and was just all around slack in that department! This company use to be a great company. They seemed like they cared for their customers but since they have changed management and lost many very knowledgeable hard working employees as a result they seem to only care for the money that lines their pockets! I will NEVER call them to do any work around my home again and I will warn others of their slack business ethics as well! read more

We have been in our home for a year and had never had a need for a plumber until now. And boy did we need help immediately. At 8 pm on a Friday night, we were in the middle of washing a load of laundry and about to start the dishwasher as we wound down for the evening when all of that came to a screeching halt when our toilet backed up putting water and sewage on the bathroom floor and bathtub. Seeing the rave reviews on Yelp, we called JD Plumbing around 8:30 pm and Chris was at our house within an hour. Chris did an incredible job of identifying the issue quickly and putting us at ease as sleepy but worried new home owners. The dispatcher had taken most of the details so he already had an idea of the issue when he arrived which he communicated his preliminary thoughts but circled back with us once he verified. We found that to be very helpful because when your house is filled with the smell of sewage all you can think of is this is really bad. Once he saw the issue he presented us with some options. My husband and I felt very informed and felt like we had all the information we needed to make the best decision. Chris worked for for a couple of hours and gave us the option of seeing the pipes. Not only did he fix the blockage he gave us information we would have never known which was the condition of our sewage pipes as the age of our house often can present issues. It was very useful as we consider future maintenance issues and re-sale values. He even discovered that the toilet had been installed incorrectly (another example for us of shoddy workmanship from the seller who "flipped" the house). He fixed that as well, caulked the toilet and sanitized and cleaned the bathroom. We could not be more grateful and are pleased with our service. We will contact this service whenever we have a future plumbing issue. Chris was very informative, personable and my husband and I felt that he was trustworthy. Even though he was cleaning up sewage at 12 o'clock in the morning he had a great attitude and excellent customer service. I would recommend JD Plumbing to anyone. read more

I had a plumbing issue that unfortunately needed to be done on the weekend... a potential problem in the Triangle area. The first two local plumbers I contacted that supposedly have 24 service did not return my calls on Saturday. I then read about JD plumbing...and called. A human, and a pleasant one, answered the phone! An expert technician was dispatched in less than 30 minutes. I was extremely lucky, as that plumber was SUSAN McDANIEL! I must say, Susan was truly exceptional. Her customer service, demeanor, and work were fantastic. Another plumber shied away from an easier job on the same shower... after I made it worse, Susan came in and quickly evaluated the problem, and got to work fixing it! She gave great advice on the components to buy, recommended an excellent drywall repair specialist, and was extremely pleasant and professional throughout. She even checked a minor repair I had done, to ease my mind. We've lived in the Triangle for over 20 years, and used several plumbers in that time. None were anywhere close to Susan (and JD Plumbing) in demonstrated expertise and professionalism. I cannot give a higher recommendation. It was on the weekend, and as you might expect, the price was high (quoted prior to the work, so no surprises). ~$200 extra to cut a wall seems like a lot. But I guess one should be willing to pay a bit more for the best. And poor plumbing service can lead to bigger issues... I would not hesitate to call again, and ask for Susan, for anything. read more

JD has done service for my businesses and my home. Rave reviews for the business service and the work ultimately done in my home by Michael and Corey. But my brother is in the HVAC business elsewhere and, knowing about the business from an insider perspective, I absolutely hate feeling like someone wants to take advantage of me. Before I get into that, I want to say that Corey from JD was honest and absolutely went above and beyond to install our new furnace in a 100 degree attic (still so sorry, Corey, that our attic fan wasn't working!) and I would bring him into my home for repairs any day of the week. Michael responded to a prior call to fix the garbage disposal in my home and not only did he do a great job but he didn't pressure me to go for the deluxe disposal that he also gave me a quote for. My mistake was signing up for a maintenance agreement. I had to listen to all the usual items HVAC and plumbing techs are coerced into selling plus a few new ones. And the quotes they gave us to take care of a few of our problems...our sprinkler people repaired for a few hundred dollars less what JD wanted to just replace. And my brother happened to be in town and volunteered to fix a toilet. What we were told would solve the problem wouldn't have done so and I don't even remember the exorbitant amount the tech wanted to charge us. We needed something else altogether to fix the leak. All I can say is the JD Plumbing is lucky to have Justin C. That is why I have selected 5 stars. 5 stars for Justin C. Maybe 3 stars for JD Plumbing. Justin was extremely attentive and caring. We had a major overhaul of our plumbing, all new pipes, all the way to our water meter. We even got a new water heater. Everything. Plus the main water line burst (city side)! Justin was here every step of the way. He worked over hours (even on the weekend) to make sure we were all up and running. Incredible guy. Seriously, I will follow that guy anywhere. Now for the reason why I gave JD Plumbing 3 stars...on our invoice we paid for 12 hours for an 'apprentice'. All we got (and Justin too) was one day of an apprentice. So for a job that is 3 days long (with 12 hours of help)...Justin was solo for most of the time. Even when the main line burst. He stayed until the city left which was around 7:30pm. How can one person do all that work? Repiping, installing water heater, digging ditches, helping the city with the main water line. Too much for one person to handle. Plus I paid for that 'help' time. Like I said, they are lucky to have Justin. Great face for the company. JD Plumbing needs to know that and provide the help that their employees need and the help that their customers are paying for. Thanx to Justin for caring so much. read more

Because of my recent surgery and the difficultly to bend down, we called JD Service to get a quote to plumb four sinks. They were on time and very professional acting. We had all the parts except new standard supply lines and a few fittings (less than $200.00 worth of parts on their part). They gave us an outrageous quote of $5,300.00 and charge us $63.00 for the estimate. They also gave us a material only quote of $700.00 for a garbage disposal. I brought a good garbage disposal at Lowes for $220.00. If the quotes were not bad enough, they did not know how to plumb a p-trap that has a cemented threaded elbow to the connection tee. They said they would have to do an exploratory job by cutting a big hole into the back of the vanity cabinet, put a hole into the wall and install an new Tee connector. If hired, they would have left us with a big hole in our bathroom wall and vanity. I tried to explained to them it was a threaded 1-1/2" PVC elbow that a P-Trap would screw into, but they would not listen. When I told them the quote was high, one of them laugh and said "we get that a lot". I bet they do. Well, I did the whole job myself in about 6-7 hours and did not cut a hole into the back of the vanity or the wall. This group does not know how to do a simple plumbing job. read more

My experience with JD Service was great. It started with Jade who kept my informed through out the day as to when my technician would be arriving at my home. While having a serious problem with my pluming in the kitchen Jade assured me that we will get the issue taken care of for you NO MATTER HOW LONG IT TOOK TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. Talking to Jade left me with great piece of mind while I carried on with my daily chores. Marcus showed up exactly in between the time frame Jade had set for me and upon his arrival I could immediately tell he was a seasoned technician and knew exactly what he was doing. Just as Jade said Marcus did not give up on my kitchen sink drain until the problem was resolved. Marcus went the extra mile by climbing on the roof to snake the vent to make sure I didn't have a critter stuck in there. On a Friday morning on the second week of living in our new home in Durham NC, our toilets, showers and sinks began backing up. Looking online I called JD Service Now and a courteous dispatcher took our information and arranged for a plumber to arrive. With 30 minutes, I received a text describing the plumber Theron would be arriving shortly. In 15 minutes he was at his front door and wearing a mask and putting on shoe coverings assessed our situation and confirmed that our sewer drain was clogged. He spent considerable time using various methods and discovered the blockage would have to be evaluated by excavating our lawn. He was able to obtain another plumber to assist him due to the urgency of us not being able to use our bathrooms. Theron and Christopher worked together so well in discovering the cause of our blockage. All work was fully explained in detail and proceeded only after they were assured that we understood what was required. Following their work, I did receive follow up from both Theron and Christopher insuring that we were satisfied with their work. We have been completely happy with the service and expertise of all the technologists and the HVAC manager, Chris Edwards, over the past 4 years. We hired them to replace three 20-year-old furnaces and A/C units, install a new garbage disposal, fix several leaks (some of which were difficult to trace), disconnect and reconnect the plumbing for our refrigerator ice-maker when the floors were being redone (we had to have the frig moved), and install new shower heads and toilets. We thought that one shower head would need to be replaced and then they fixed it in about 5 minutes (the O-ring had slipped inside the handle). Above all, everyone at JD Service Now is professional and make the satisfaction of their customers their #1 priority. I now have a service contract and they call me to remind me when I'm due for a free systems check. They take the time to listen and make sure that they get the job done right the first time. Had a water pressure issue at my house and called JD Plumbing to help resolve issue. They came out within a few hours (great!) and debugged the issue in which the root cause was my existing prv was bad. They changed it within a few minutes and Voilà, my water pressure worked even better than it did when I built the house. WHERE great customer service kicks in: Now I will say I was concerned about the initial price/flat fee as the location of the prv was easy to get to in a clean area vs. in tight crawl space/etc. They respected the concern and gave me a fair price than the original one given even after I paid for the initial fee. I have to say I expected them to not even CARE as it was my fault for agreeing to the original one in the first place (1st time calling a plumber too)! Due to that, in addition to the respectful/courteousness of the technicians, and excellent service, I will definitely call them back for service/help and I recommend you use them as well. In response to what we believed was a plumbing issue - a sore spot in this house, because of previous catastrophic flooding due to substandard piping - I called JD after looking them up on various review sites. The dispatch person (Morgan M.) was very thorough on the two occasions we spoke, but we were really impressed with the plumber they sent out, Michael E. The young man arrived, listened and watched as I told him what had happened, and set about (1) correctly assessing the true cause {fridge water line leak}, (2) addressing our secondary concerns {plumbing fixture leaks/"whistling" in bath & kitchen, then setting a follow-up appt. the next day wherein both were corrected}, and in suggesting/contacting a competent area company to begin remediation of the saturated {month-old!} flooring the fridge leak caused. It's a shame to be bowled over by receiving professional service anymore, but we're pleased to say that's what we got from JD... and though we hope not to need them again soon, they'll be the ones we'll call if we need 'em! read more

My HVAC compressor was short cycling and the fan wasn't spinning which meant my A/C couldn't keep up in the heat. I called JD and they had a tech out the next day (it wasn't an emergency so I opted for next day service instead of immediate service). Josh K. was the tech and he was fantastic. I'm fascinated with anything mechanical and Josh let me watch over him and he explained everything he was doing. I asked him questions the whole time and he answered all of them. Josh never pressured me to buy anything. He just explained the condition of the various components and I made the decision of what to fix now and what to do at a later time. This tactic works best for me, because if I feel like you are honest and inform me of what to do in the future without pressuring me, you will absolutely earn my business the next time around. I am so pleased with the prompt professional service I received from JD Service Now. I contacted them late Friday afternoon...frantic that I had what appeared to be moisture on my kitchen wall & I had run out of hot water. From the receptionist to the dispatcher, I was spoken to in a very courteous manner. They listened to my concerns & assured me that a technician would come out the following day 8am-9am. Joshua was here promptly at 8AM. I explained the issues we were having & he immediately inspected my water heater & determined that my 21 year old water heater needed to be replaced. I had just returned from a business trip and discovered that my crawl space was filled with water and it was running into the yard. In a panic I searched for an emergency plumber and found great reviews here... so I called. They answered my panic call and reassured me that they would send someone as soon as a technician was free. At 7:00 pm Susan showed up and I can tell you she is wonderful. She set two pumps (one was mine) under the house and started to pump out the water. We got everything turned off and she even spoke with the water damage clean up crew that she recommended and explained the situation to them over the phone. The charge was reasonable and the cost was clearly explained. I cannot recommend this company enough, from the lady that answered the phone and calmed my panic to Susan who showed up as promised in the dark and performed above my expectations. read more

We had a major water leak and had to have the AC and all duct work replaced. From the start JD Service Now was fantastic. They came out within a day, wrote an estimate (that was approved by insurance) and scheduled a 2 day install. They worked all day into the evening for two days (I trusted them to do the work while no-one was home). They were courteous, clean(and funny) and did a fantastic Job. A few days later they returned to optimize the system and realized that the system wasn't configured correctly. At no cost, they increased the size of the duct from the air intake and built a custom intake to pull air in from the outside. This fixed the problem. After letting them know that the main floor didn't have even airflow, they spent additional time to fix that problem. I would use them again and would highly recommend Corey/Neal/Jason! Just had a horrible experience with this company. Wanted to like them; when their technicians do show up, they're clean, pleasant, and knowledgeable. They do try to sell you some upgrades, but that's almost standard in a routine maintenance service call. What isn't good is that they do not give you a window or block of time that they're going to show up. They just say that they're coming on a certain day, and they'll give you a 30 minute heads up. That means that you're tied to the house, or at least within a few miles, for an entire day. What was miserable about my present experience is that they called to reschedule on two opportunities before today, then this morning they told me that they were coming SOMETIME today, then they called to reschedule at 3 P.M. I'm sorry, they should be held accountable for keeping me waiting all day, and then not showing up. DONE! read more

JD Plumbing was fantastic. Their prices were good from what I can tell and they really went out of their way to make good on what could have been a very bad (expensive) situation for me. A leak detection company identified a leak under my garage floor so the plumbers cut a hole in the concrete and dug about 4' before concluding that there was not a pipe there. They later identified the leak in another location (in the yard) and fixed it. They did not charge me for the work in the garage despite the fact that they spent the better part of a day digging for the pipe and were even prepared to refund the cost of the leak detection since they referred me to the leak detection company. The leak detection company ended up making the refund but I really appreciate JD Plumbing's willingness to do so. I will definitely use them again and would refer them to anyone. read more

I always have a great experience when working with JD Service Now. I have used them consistently for a few years now on both personal and investment properties. Their staff is always curteous, respectful of my property and knowledgeable. Today was no exception. Josh K did and amazing job helping me to understand my AC problems and helping me to choose the right system for my home. When we purchased this home almost two years ago, we knew that we would have to replace the downstairs HVAC system. Today's maintenance visit confirmed what the inspection report told us and while we probably could have nursed another six months out of the system, we decided to replace it. When we first opened Oliver's Collar Dog Treat Bakery in October of 2013, we got quotes from many plumbers and other contractors. To say the least, it was a nightmare of rude technicians and schedulers, and some quotes even took as much as three weeks! JD Plumbing won our business because of their service. From their office staff who treated me like a person and respected my schedule, to the quote (which was right on target), to the technician (Aaron) who carried out the work, and now a year later Joe took care of our mandatory backflow preventer inspection quickly and efficiently.
