Unlike traditional shoe stores, you tell one of the employees which shoe you want, they send a request to the back. You can look at the queue on the tv screen. It took about 10 minutes for my shoe to come out. I didn't like the first pair. I tried on a different one that was on display and liked it. I asked an employee to get that size for me which took another 10 minutes. WARNING! Make sure you check the shoes they give you. Luckily, I checked the shoes before purchasing it because they handed me the display pair: one side was heavily worn out from people trying it on and the other side was brand new They didn't bother to tell me they handed me the last pair/ the display pair For the shoe I ended up getting, it was cheaper online on the official website. Walked in to buy some shoes for my wife, "staff" super rude despite the fact they only had few customers in store they brought out the shoes and after I told them I would purchase them they literally tossed the shoe at the counter even though there was no one there to check out and walked away with out saying anything... Came by Friday evening without knowing they were having a Nike event and it was pretty packed. They had a lot of security too. There was also a DJ and were giving away free mocktails. It was definitely a vibe. Ended up buying my son a pair of new balance shoes for school as that was our mission going there. I was honestly surprised to see how accurate the previous 1-star reviews were. We spent about 20 minutes trying to find someone to help us check for sizes, but couldn't get anyone's attention. Eventually, we had to try on a random display pair ourselves. When we brought the shoe to the front, the cashier seemed frustrated that we hadn't asked for the boxed pair beforehand. We explained that we couldn't find anyone to help us, and to her credit, she understood--especially after spending the next 5 minutes trying to flag down a coworker to grab the correct size. What stood out most was that while we were waiting, she asked us to step aside so she could help other customers in line--only for the next group to come up with the exact same issue we had. It's hard to say whether this is a staffing or training issue, but there did seem to be multiple employees on the floor who weren't actively helping customers. With better coordination and more proactive assistance, the experience could be significantly improved. I hope management takes the feedback seriously, because this location definitely has the potential to provide a much better customer experience. read more

I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the extremely unprofessional experience I had at your Valley Fair store last Monday. I visited the store with my friend to try on a pair of shoes. I clearly told the manager that I wanted to try a size 7.5 and mentioned that I would be waiting near another shoe rack. I sat and waited for quite a long time, but the shoes never arrived. During this period, the manager walked past us twice, clearly seeing that we were waiting, yet he did not follow up. Since I had waited too long, I asked him again. He pointed toward the front, but I did not fully understand what he meant and assumed another staff member would assist me. After waiting even longer, I saw him talking with a female staff member, so I approached her directly. She told me that the shoes were at the front desk and that I needed to pick them up myself. When I went to the front desk and was about to be helped, the manager suddenly came over and asked if he could check the shoes again. At this point, I had already been waiting far too long. I asked him why he had not checked earlier when I had been very clear from the beginning that I simply wanted to try a size 7.5. He said he thought I already had my size. I reminded him that I had clearly requested a 7.5 at the start, but he just said "sorry" and then walked away. I then asked the front desk staff why I had to line up just to try on a pair of shoes. She said, "He is the manager, he knows what he is doing." However, I continued waiting and he never came back to assist me. Eventually, the front desk staff informed me that the shoes were not available and suggested that I order them online. I was very frustrated by this whole experience. The manager demonstrated a lack of professionalism, did not take responsibility, and failed to provide even the most basic level of customer service. In the past, I have had very good experiences with JD Sports, but this irresponsible attitude left me very disappointed and upset. Never been to a store worst than this one: WTF#1 Workers have attitude right when you walk in, thought it was a busy weekend so we continued to look. WTF#2 We asked for a size for my kid, the sales rep took over 10 mins didn't say a word, I saw him roam around the store a few times so I finally asked, weren't you getting our shoes? He replied yeah, someone else is still looking, just wait. And so we did. WTF#3 After 15mins he brought out 1 shoe, I asked if my kid can try both shoes since feet constantly changing for teens, he replied no store policy, lost prevention o_O ?! Wow he just labeled me as a thief that I will grab and run. Ha! At this point I told my wife I had enough, why are we putting up with these crappy attitudes and let's go. The so called store supervisor, also a kid overheard what I've said to my wife decided to tell me - "we don't need your business." Oh man was he right, we spent our $$$ elsewhere today. Needed a new pair of sneakers and thought Valley Fair would be a good place to go. I was on my way to Journey's when I saw this store and decided to check it out. It was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon but they seemed to have plenty of staff. I saw a pair of shoes that I wanted to try on so I walked up to one of the "kids" working and he scanned the shoe with a handheld device, (pretty cool) and was able to tell me that they didn't have the shoe in a 10.5 but they did have it in an 11. So I asked to try that. The wait for the shoe was pretty long, probably about 10 minutes. While I was waiting for the shoe I saw another one I wanted to try on. So I found the same worker and asked him to bring me a pair. The first pair of shoes didn't work out but I never did end up getting that second pair. I waited for another 15 minutes or so before getting completely frustrated. I asked the guy I had spoken to what was taking so long and he asked me who I had talked to. I said, "You." There was another customer there that I saw ask for a couple of pairs of shoes and he wanted a long time also. I saw him ask someone what was taking so long and he did eventually end up trying on a pair. After being in this store for about a half an hour and only trying on 1 pair of shoes, I decided to leave. I went to the counter and asked to speak to a manager. When one finally came over, I told him, "I'm leaving here without buying any shoes because your process is too slow." I don't know why it takes so long to get shoes from the back but this company needs to hire more people. read more

I am seeing JD Sports pop up everywhere and the one at Valley Fair seems to be the biggest they have a huge selection of sportswear and sneakers. The staff is friendly and willing to help and they all provide awesome service. I have started to like shopping at JD as they have special colors that other retailers do not have. If you are a sneaker head or looking for leisure wear then stop by JD sport. The retail prices are the same and sometimes you may find some items on sale. read more

When we came back to return them they said that they can't take it back if we didn't have the receipt after we were told that if we sign up with an email it wouldn't be a problem. This place is quite hectic the closer it gets to Christmas but nothing prepared me for 1 cashier and 6 people on the floor. Thankful for the amazing cashier, Sebastian, who literally took care of an entire line by himself. He worked as quickly as possible without any assistance for his coworkers, and without any attitude. I am truly appalled by the amount of coworkers that came up to the register, as he asked for assistance from them and their continuous response was, "there's no one else who can do register." How does a whole shift during holiday season have 1 cashier? There were so many other customers ahead and behind me making so many rude remarks but that stopped as he continued to check in with everyone in the line, apologizing for the long wait, and once everyone saw he was actually trying to ask for help but his coworkers didn't want to help or couldn't help, as they stated. Funny enough, when I was looking for help to grab certain shoe sizes, there was no one to help during the 30 mins of active looking for assistance. Needless to say, I ended up just getting a couple bags and decided not to get any shoes - not that I really had a choice since no one was really within reach for assistance. If this review was solely based on Sebastian, and his customer service skills, I'd give it a 5/5 stars. This was my first time shoe shopping at JD, and I was worried about the level of service after reading so many negative reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised, and this was all because of Bryson. He saw me and my wife from a distance and sprung into action and asked if there was anything he could help us find. He knew exactly what I was looking for, and even options I had no idea were available when it came to colors and styles. He worked quickly and efficiently while multitasking and helping other customers as well. I couldn't be more pleased with the way Bryson handled my shoe shopping needs. I think the value here is great as well, $100 for a pair of classic Adidas Sambas, that are pretty hard to find anywhere else. The cashier was very nice too, but unfortunately I didn't catch her name. Overall, my experience at JD was great, and I'll definitely come back the next time I need some sick kicks! My wife and I went to Valley Fair to shop for our friends wedding. We went into the store and looked around. The store attendants were constantly asking if we needed a size for each shoe I picked up to look at, which I didn't mind much. After my wife finally picked out the shoe she wanted, we waited for 35min and the attendant brought out the wrong shoe at first. We then waited for another ten minutes for them to search the stockroom to find the right shoe. After 45 minutes of waiting we finally got the shoe my wife wanted. I bought two packs of Nike socks. With the intention of having my kid try them on to see which one fit better and return the other one. I confirmed with the cashier that I had the ability to do so as long as I had the receipt and it was within 45 days. I came back the same day to the same cashier that helped me purchase the pack of socks. After seeing that I had opened the pack, she called Manager. According to the Manager (Jesus Gallardo) , if you rip open the pack, you're not eligible for a refund . I was obviously never told this. he refused to acknowledge the mistake of his staff and denied me a refund, even though it was evident that his staff is not trained properly and lacks customer service skills. read more

Came in on Saturday with my daughter for the yearly back to school shopping with the intent buying a pair of shoes. Manager "had dreads" was able to assist us after browsing for certain shoes my daughter had wanted. 20 minutes later after still waiting "pretty girls" come in and are serviced immediately by the team members on the floor. I noticed for a while that this was "normal", but after I had pulled the team member aside and pretty much said what he was doing was wrong he right away was able to get us what we're looking for. We left the items and took ourselves to footlocker and they had the same shoes, and exceptionally better service. JD Sports, the service we received was complete ass.
