We spent the afternoon at the Rosewood Miramar Beach Hotel and had a terrific time. We had drinks and nibbles at the Revere - and let's just say service was next level. We had our small dog - and they offered a dog menu, brought over a blanket, water and treats. We had Hugo Spritz cocktails with fresh mango juice which were next level. The Revere Room is the Miramar's casual all-day restaurant, and I'm guessing most of the people who eat there are guests of the hotel. We only went because we needed somewhere to get lunch for a party of six on Thanksgiving Day and the first couple places we thought to call were closed. We realized we might have better luck with hotel restaurants and were relieved when someone at the Revere Room picked up the phone. We said we'd be there in about half an hour and asked if we should make a reservation, and the person on the line said there was no need, as we should be able to walk in. I was pretty annoyed when we showed up as promised and the restaurant was completely full. Like I understand that the staff can't predict what will happen between noon and 12:30 on Thanksgiving Day, but this did seem foreseeable, and they should have taken our name down since we'd told them we were coming. I told the host what had happened, and she just kind of smiled and acted like she hadn't heard me. No apology, and we waited, with two young kids and their grandparents, for forty minutes. Service was fine once we sat down, and the patio setting was nice. The menu was basic California coastal, nothing exciting but something for everyone. I got the Central Coast Cobb, a hearty salad with Santa Ynez greens, grilled organic chicken breast, crispy bacon, Munak Ranch soft boiled egg, avocado, tomato, goat cheese, and honey dijon vinaigrette. I liked it, and it kept me full enough until Thanksgiving dinner. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back to the Revere Room, which feels like it mostly exists to feed hotel guests. I'm glad we had somewhere to go with my parents and kids, though, even if they were snooty about making us wait. read more

They had a really nice variety of breakfast items and classic lunch entrees. With 11am reservations they provided us only with a latte menu, but upon request of a cocktail menu there were no issues with being given one. The reason for my docked star was service and considering the price point. I want to be very clear that everyone was extremely nice and friendly. The hostess was bubbly and sat us right away, no issues. Also our waiter was super friendly and polite. He made us feel welcome and had a positive attitude. My biggest critique was simply the attentiveness of the service today. I expected more from a 5-star hotel. Nice staff is lovely but if we have to ask for refills of teas, ask to place our orders, and have to ask for our check at the end (despite waiting a while to see if staff would handle it without a nudge) I felt I had to be honest and give 4 stars overall. Service should be more attentive, maybe it was an off day or maybe it was our waiter but they didn't seem slammed. Happy that staff are so nice, just hoping for a little more attention to detail in the future when you are paying $$ price to dine here. The food was very very good. I had the smash burger and fries and it was a seriously good burger. Cooked perfect and super juicy. The sauce was good and the fries crispy. As much as we thought we wanted brunch the burgers were a crowd pleaser. We also had the oysters which were average but nice presentation. My friends eggs Benedict were reported to be very good as well. For a cocktail I had the conscious crush. Love me a cocktail with passionfruit and avocado. Unfortunately the avocado flavor wasn't as pronounced as I would have liked but A for effort. Hard to find cocktails that have avocado in it so glad they do have more unique cocktails. I was here for a board retreat. We paused for lunch - and instead of taking it in the same space where we were spending the whole day, we had decided on a break and walked down to the Revere Room where we had a reservation for the 12 of us. It was Saturday and they had a fixed price menu. First we got baskets of assorted danishes and pastries - and can I just say -- the croissants were absolutely perfect. Flaky and crispy on the outside but warm and soft (and chocolatey) on the inside. I wish that it was chocolate spread instead of chunks of chocolate chips, but regardless- it was flawlessly delicious. Then came the charcuterie with house-made bread. Again- ridiculously well baked. The onion jam, I ate with a spoon. It was that good. Then we got to pick from 4 options, 3 brunch-type- and fortunately they had a burger on the menu, because I was jonesing for fries and needed a burger to accompany them. A5 Wagyu Burger - 60-Minute Onion, Lettuce, Bacon Jam, Chipotle Aioli Served with French Fries -- I asked for medium rare, my burger came out closer to medium well. It didn't say anything about cheese on the menu, but it came out with what seemed to be American cheese--- sadly it wasn't melted well, so it was in a goopy/square shape...very off putting to someone who never orders cheese on a burger. The chipotle aioli looked more like Thousand island dressing to me-- and the burger was actually not seasoned. (What is it with chefs not salting the beef?) so, it was an uneventful burger. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. The pièce de resistance was the dessert. We had a choice of 1759 Blackberry Cheesecake - Two Peas in a Pod Marinated Blackberries or Cœur de Guanaja Budino - Valrhona Dark Chocolate, Peanut Butter Mousse, Banana Brulée I ordered the Budino, even though i usually don't like pudding texture. This was a holy experience. Oh. My. God. It was epic. Every bite was absolute gastronomic perfection. The texture, the combination of flavors and even the banana-- again not something I would usually get. Somehow, I kept getting a hint of ginger with each bite. Not sure if it was my palate or that they actually had ginger -- it just improved the whole thing for me. That zing of ginger flavor added a whole other layer of amazing. It was too rich to finish so I brought it back to our retreat to nosh on it for the rest of the afternoon. Somethings to note: The Revere Room is at the Rosewood Miramar Hotel in Montecito. Street parking is limitedly available and they only do valet. Valet is $17-$21 (can't remember how much since it was included in our retreat bill). read more

They ask for a credit card over the phone to make a reservation which I thought was odd. Not sure what that was all about. She didn't tell me anything about a fee if we DIDN't make it. We sat outside which was so beautiful..you can see the ocean and the train passing by. Anywho, take everyone's advice and get the ricotta pancakes. They melt in your mouth. We ordered that as an appetizer so we can all taste it. We were pleasantly surprised to find out they had the Chilaquiles. I hadn't seen them on the menu online and they were delicious. You could add protein, but we were fine with the eggs on top. They were very flavorful. The drinks were ok (Mr. Chai). Didn't taste like they had much alcohol and they were really pricey. The only constructive criticism I would give is to have their servers maybe smile a little. The 2 gentlemen that came to our table were very "dry." I had a friend recommend this place for brunch and I am so glad they did! It has everything you want in a restaurant: a beautiful view, stellar service, delicious food and fantastic drinks! Our server Nicole, who was a ray of sunshine, recommended the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and anything with an English muffin because they are made in house. Do not sleep on these pancakes! Without exaggeration the worst breakfast plate we've ever had. My husband's breakfast was 2 eggs overeasy, a grilled sausage (Costco sausage? Nothing special), and the saddest reheated limp luke-warm hash brown patty on earth. The plate was bare, not the slightest attempt to present the food pretty to match the gorgeous surroundings. The eggs were so runny that the egg white was still translucent instead of white (yuk, and health hazard). Some line cook in the kitchen doesn't know how to prepare the most basic food, and there is no quality control. We are not the complaining kind, but the eggs were inedible, so the waiter brought a pair of new eggs. My eggs Benedict were drowning in sauce, but otherwise fine (nothing special). The lemon ricotta pancakes are all they're cracked up to being! So delicious. I was full afterward, but didn't feel heavy, like I usually would having consumed every last bit of pancake on my plate. Visited the Revere Room for brunch (yesterday, so a Sunday) and had no issue getting a 10am reservation for 2. The entire hotel/resort is beautiful, so give yourself time to walk around and see everything. Michela, took care of my friend and me for brunch, and she was great. Super attentive but not invasive, really friendly and nice, I'd honestly ask for her again because she was so great. My friend enjoyed the fancy avocado toast with mole on it with 2 perfectly poached eggs, and I had the eggs Benedict with the house smoked salmon sooooo good. The benedict was exactly the right amount of food, well dressed, and a great way to start the day. We also took advantage of the $35 bottomless mimosas (for up to two hours). We made it worth it. We booked a Lyft in advance to get to and from brunch so we could both be foolish. I highly recommend doing the same and scheduling in advance to ensure you can get a ride in a timely manner. And the side salad that I substituted with the honey lavender dressing was sublime. Cornbread was excellent. The burrata and stone fruit salad was perfect. The pan roasted korabuta pork tenderloin was excellent, as was the accompanying Brentwood corn. The shrimp Mac and cheese was delicious! And the sausage and peppers Flatbread was one of my favorite bites, even though the sausage didn't seem to have any notes of fennel.
