The food, coffee drinks and pastries are so delicious and made in house here! The staff are all so sweet and really take care of you for such a casual place. There's plenty of seating against a beautiful beach backdrop too. There's English muffin breakfast sandwich was my favorite thing - and the English muffin was made on site. Field & Fort is already one of my most favorite home goods stores (see previous review) and I was excited to finally be able to slow down today to try their Feast little breakfast nook. At the main entrance for the store off to the left is where you can order your breakfast and lunch bites. Usually is a small line around brunch rush but it moves quick. It's actually helpful as they have laminated menus out so while you're waiting you can peak at what you want to order. For a small counter eatery I was impressed with the menu, it's bigger than you'd expect and lots of great options to choose from. It's a little pricey but you're paying for the brand and the easy access of eating and shopping all in one place. The ambiance is causal as they have plenty of outdoor wooden seating areas and if you can snag one of the bigger tables near the road you can see the ocean off in the distance which was lovely. Just note this cafe / store is off a slightly busy road but still, almost oceanfront views. My iced matcha latte was "okay" but that's my fault, I like a sweeter latte and should have added vanilla or something to give it a little more sweetness. But for a true matcha lover that doesn't want frills I'm pretty sure you'd be content with this one. I just think I'd sample something else next time. The food and bites were good though, we all liked our meals. The fruit and yogurt bowl is a must! It's gorgeous and the fruit looked super fresh. My friend had the sausage McMuffin and that's something I'll definitely get next time. Lots of scones and small pastry bites. I went with the avocado toast. Too much arugula but otherwise it was perfect. I liked the extra crunchiness of the bread and the avocado was good. Added a poached egg which was needed and completed the dish. Loved the shredded radish and the slightest pinch of lemon salt or seasoning they added on top, that was pretty good. Staff here are very friendly and attentive. Even though you order at a counter they bring the food out to you as when you pay you get a cute little number marker for your table. The staff bringing the food and drinks out were all nice and friendly. They cleared plates and asked how we liked our food at the end. Pretty good service for it not being a traditional restaurant and such. This spot is somewhere between 4-5 stars but I rounded up for good measure as I love the location, brand, and there were some stellar bites. read more

Stopped by here along the way during a road trip and it was so good that we had to come again. This is the perfect spot whether you are looking for a little caffeine, a delicious sweet/savory pastry, or a more satiating meal. First off, the place is tucked away in an unassuming location surrounding what appears to be mostly residences. There is an attached home goods store which you could peruse while waiting for your drink/food. So genius. Latte (10/10) - I got a honey lavender latte with almond milk and it had the perfect amount of coffee flavor and a hint of sweetness. I swear these little coffee shops know how to do it best because they intentionally allow the coffee to be the star of the show rather than the syrup flavor. Roasted Cauliflower salad (10/10) - I am usually not a salads type of person but I was looking for something healthy and light and this just hit the spot. It was hearty and delicious and had some texture in it too with the walnuts. Ugh, I think about this salad a lot. Roasted Eggplant Sandwich (9/10) - When we came here for the second time I knew I needed to try one of the sandwiches. Simple but super flavorful. I loved the pop of color and extra flavor from the beet hummus. A pretty small portion but still satisfying nonetheless. This place is just amazing. You order at the counter, they bring the food to you, and there's tons of outside seating (dog friendly too!). I ordered the market salad with steak...I was ecstatic that it came with a HALF OF AN AVOCADO because I was only expecting a few slices. The steak was seasoned well, the radishes and greens added wonderful color and variety, and the carrot ginger dressing was smooth and sweet. I enjoyed having lunch here and the only improvement I would offer is to add a bit more zing to the carrot ginger dressing. Partner loved the breakfast sandwich with greens - he rarely eats vegetables but ate the whole thing which meant the greens must've been prepared well! Meaning, it's a very natural and enjoyable place to enjoy a drink or a small meal. This café offers the expected drinks like lattes, cappuccino flat whites, and the like, as well as other, non-coffee based drinks. Plus, they have a number of bakery items and a few things like sandwiches and avocado toast. So, you can pretty much eat as little or as much as you desire. Visited Feast at Field + Fort en route to Santa Barbara per the recommendation of a friend! I ordered the Savory Porridge and my friend got the Shakshuka. We split the cherry almond coffee cake. WHO KNEW PORRIDGE COULD CHANGE YOUR LIFE?? Savory Porridge: I am genuinely in awe of this dish. It was warm and filling, thoughtfully created with unique but comforting flavors. Every bite was a new experience. It was like a Ratatouille moment guys. If you've never had porridge (like me before this day), this dish is very similar to oatmeal but with rice. This one uses black rice and came topped with a perfectly poached egg, thick cut pieces of bacon, collard greens, pecorino cheese, and a lovely tomato jam. I'm looking at the menu now to see what I'm missing - truffle butter!!!! Wow, what a magical combination. It's one of those meals where you already know you're going to crave it later while eating it. It didn't look like a big portion at first but it was so nutrient rich and filling that I wasn't able to finish it all. My friend said the same for the Shakshuka - doesn't look like a lot at first but ends up being the perfect amount of food. You finish it feeling good!!! Cherry almond coffee cake: The cherries were tart in the best way and the almond crust reminded me of a great almond croissant but in cake form. Not too sweet. Perfect start to our morning. So soft and crumbly!! I am already craving this food again. I'm seriously putting this as one of the top dishes of all time for me. If you're in town or passing through, stop here!!!!! My wife and I come here several times a month for the delicious apple cider with the homemade whipped cream. We've had consistently great service. Today we brought my in-laws in from out of town and were looking forward to the cider with whipped cream. After ordering, we received our ciders and my cup had no whipped cream. As I mentioned before, we have gotten this drink many times before. My wife brought my cup back to the front and showed them and the server told her that it was the last of the whipped cream and there wasn't much left. They could make more but it would take 10-15 min. I would be done with my cider by then so she requested a new cider with proper whipped cream. After checking with the manager, we were told they could give us a side of whipped cream, but no new cider. Honestly?! It's cider. Not liquid gold. It's so unfortunate to be treated so poorly and with this level of pettiness. Thank you for losing our business. Do not recommend. read more

If you need a cute spot for breakfast, look no further. It was my sister's birthday and we wanted a special place to celebrate her. We purchase many things on the menu as we were excited to taste. We were not disappointed! Everything was delicious. Birthday girl was so happy with everything too. We got a few different types of sandwiches, top sirloin hashes, lattes and cappuccinos. The staff were all so sweet too. Props to Chef Melissa! She came out and said hi. She truly made my sister feel celebrated. As foodies our experience was beyond amazing! This was a delightful unexpected find. Passing through town, I needed lunch. A sandwich sounded good so with some Yelp searching, Feast's reviews seemed like a good option. This review is 3.75. I had ordered a chicken salad sandwich and an iced tea. Everything was yummy! I was really impressed by the generous portion of chicken salad in my sandwich. I really liked its ground consistency and the fact that there was no fruit in the chicken salad. Perfect! Just the way I like it! And they were kind enough to add some greens and tomato for extra good measure. I can't say it was delicious but I did enjoy it! Attached to the cafe walk up counter is a store. Reminiscent of a small Williams Sonoma/Pottery Barn-esque home and gourmet food shop! It was a nice break to stretch my legs and walk though. I'm not giving this shop 4 stars, though I'd like to. Their baked goods case, while it included fancy options, it was either picked over or so small in size I didn't really want anything. Didn't seem worth the price I'd be paying. This place is super cute! You wait in line and order from the cashier. You can order things out of the pastry cabinet or can order from the kitchen and they'll bring your food out to you. We arrived on a Saturday at noon and waited in line about 15 minutes to order. We would have liked to try one of the sandwiches but learned the kitchen was backed up and it would be at least 30 minutes before our food would come out. There's some very nice relaxing areas to wait for your food and enjoy it, but we were on the road so decided not to wait. We ordered from the pastry cabinet a savory scone, the mushroom bacon turnover, and a chocolate coffee cookie. We're not typically scone people. The scone was OK but we didn't love it. The cookie is a soft cookie and it was OK, but I don't usually have coffee in my chocolate cookie. The bacon mushroom turnover was quite good and I would order that again. We definitely will come back again and try some other items. We talked to some locals who love this place and said the food is consistently good. There's a really nice shopping area. They sell some interesting package food, tea, and some coffee paraphernalia. My husband loved the Viking stove they had on the floor. This is high-end stuff, very nice. But not terribly just might be the things that they are using or clean out the machine. Coffee like wine can be so subjective as well. Looks like they've got a vegan sandwich which we are looking forward to trying. The bread on the avocado toast was multi grain and delicious. As you can see from any other reviews there are lots of charming places to set up prepared for a whole parking lot if you come at popular times.
