Every single meal was consistently delicious, and I especially appreciated that they had genuinely tasty plant-based options instead of just an afterthought or two. The staff was what really made this place stand out. On our last day, I accidentally miscommunicated my order and ended up with the wrong meal. It was completely my mistake, and I was so disappointed because I had my heart set on a specific waffle (you know when you've been looking forward to something all morning?). Even though it wasn't their fault, they were incredibly kind and gracious. They happily fixed it without making me feel bad, and their warmth completely turned my day around. It may seem like a small thing, but kindness like that sticks with you. They could have easily told me it was my mistake, but instead they chose generosity and excellent customer service. Between the amazing food, the fantastic plant-based options, and some of the kindest staff we've encountered, this became one of our favorite spots on our trip. What a charming little coffee shop. It's in an excellent location being in downtown and across the street from the museum. I ordered an iced matcha latte with a lavender cold foam and I have to say, I was impressed by not only how good it tasted but the price! I think I paid around 6.50? Cute space that shares a venue with a draft house. Unique set up. There's space for indoor/outdoor and courtyard communal seating. We chose the latter for our Saturday late morning breakfast. If you love coffee, like I do, then you will appreciate their menu that has something for everyone. Be adventurous and try one of their specials. What a beautiful start to our 7 days north of LA. We left downtown LA around 6 am and made it to Santa Barbara by 7:35 am. Did the spot on and current Yelp search for Vegan breakfasts and found Goodland Waffles and Melts. The terrific Tam( photo) welcomed us and helped us decide recommending the Vegan burrito plus the Chai Latte plus ginger. After the first bite my reaction was " Goodness Goodland"- what a beautiful blend of tofu, bell peppers, potatoes as I hummed the lyrics to the FYC song " Good Thing..in my life " song . The chai latte with ginger also hit the spot with the ginger helping and soothing the sore throat . Tasty too! We saw a busy morning with a few folks ordering the waffles and their amazing beverages. Decent quick breakfast option. I got the complete breakfast waffle, a fresh fruit waffle, a breakfast burrito, and the earl grey coffee drink. Emphasis on the quick breakfast, as certain items like the bacon in the complete waffle, was the microwaveable kind. Nothing against them for that, but just fyi. The service was slow when ordering despite not there being a line and did not seem busy. I did see that they have burritos available to go and their matcha was the only redeeming item worth going back for. I only came here for a coffee pick me up around 5pm. It's one of the few places that's still serving coffee in the late day. I got 'The Museum Steps' signature iced coffee and it was just standard coffee. I could taste the hints of lavender and vanilla, but nothing special. It wasn't really worth the price paid for it which was around $7. However, I liked my friend's drink much better. I forgot the name of what she got, but she got one of their Summer specialty coffee drinks and it was sweet and creamy. They have booth indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a bathroom in the courtyard they can provide the code to if you purchase something Overall, an okay experience here. The Complete Breakfast Waffle is really good, but, IMHO, could use a tiny bit more spicy maple (there was barely a hint of it on there) and they need to put sausages on the plate instead of on top of the waffle since they quickly roll off the waffle onto the floor as you walk away from the counter (the staff quickly remedied the situation with a replacement sausage--evidence of their exceptional attention to service).
