I was devastated when my dog decided to pee on a new (and rather pricey) blanket I had purchased. The blanket of course was dry clean only. I gave June's a call and explained the situation and she assured me she could get the stain out and would launder the blanket. I was nervous that the blanket would not be as soft as it originally was. After a few days I picked up my blanket and not only did it smell amazing, but was just as soft as before! Yung Doh at June's is amazing! I started coming to her for alterations a year ago because I had two winter coats in desperate need of lining repair and a clean. June is an excellent tailor and has competitive pricing. I have since returned to her shop to do alterations on a number of dresses, tops and bottoms. She's also very good with having your alterations done within a decent amount of time as long as you let her know when you want them back. I used to have my button down shirts laundried here, and every time they returned them with buttons missing. While they are usually nice about fixing them, they once charged me $12 to sew new buttons on. In accordance with delays in cleaning the shirts (often taking over two weeks to clean and return), missing buttons are unacceptable. read more

I brought my long, slinky mermaid cut dress to June's because it was far too long. Ms. Doh shortened the dress so that it was 2 inches from the floor in front & floor length in back. She also took in the shoulders so it would fit better on top. The dress looks great! Alterations only took 2 days and cost a mere $30. I cannot give a perfect score of 5 stars because of the needlework. I expected the hem line to look like the original (serged seam with twin needles). Instead, Ms. Doh hemmed the dress without serging and she used a single needle to try to make 2 parallel double hem lines. This resulted in a double hem line that sometimes narrows and widens. It's far from perfect, but good enough. read more

Consistently Superior Dry Cleaning, Wash & Press, and Alterations My husband has been going to June's for years to get his shirts washed & pressed. I no longer have to pre-treat his sweat-stained collars as was the case with his previous dry cleaner. June's gets his shirts clean every time--they even sew on missing or cracked buttons for him! Now, the true test was the quality work they did on pressing my women's cotton shirts, and cleaning and ?pressing a raw silk tunic--perfect job! As far as alterations go, I have taken items in saying just raise the hem, or whatever, and the seamstress points out other alterations that will make my garment fit better. I don't recommend bringing your clothes here. First time I came it was great. June fixed some small issues with my clothes, it was relatively quick and cheap. So I was extremely surprised at my second time- It took way more time, was much more expensive and the job wasn't good. I have brought her more than 10 items to fix. when I saw she was uncertain whether to take my clothes or not, I told her not to take anything that she can't fix, and eventually she took 5 items. It was supposed to be two weeks, but she probably only started to work on my clothes when I called 4 weeks later. When I got there I realized she only did 3 items (and some work on the other 2), so I waited another week and a half. Unfortunately I discovered (after a week or so) that some of the issues that I asked her to fix remained. In addition to all of that, she charged me 20$ for each item (way-way too high for the wait and the quality of what I got). read more

I have been going to June's Alterations and Cleaners for years. I am always impressed with her careful attention to details in her measurements when I want something altered. She is an expert seamstress and figures out solutions to repairing an item that makes an item wearable again. When i really need something cleaned or altered by a certain date she tries her best to accommodate me if she can. I had a pair of slacks that looked all but done for with not one but two HUGE tears. I was ready to throw them out, but I decided to take them in just to see if anything could be done. Not only were the two holes repaired, but a THIRD hole was found, and also fixed! My slacks are now saved, and I plan on wearing them to a very formal occasion this very weekend. I tried washing my down winter coat at home, and unfortunately it came out in a rather poor state. The feathers had clumped in giant balls underneath the fabric and would not dry. I quickly brought it over to June's and she said she would work on it over the weekend (I came in on Friday afternoon). I'm a student, and I had a design project that required stitching some pieces together. For lack of a sewing machine, my team took our project to June's, and Ms. Doh not only accepted the unorthodox project, but made suggestions and even gave us a buckle she happened to have on hand to improve our design. When she called me with a question, I came over to answer and she stayed late with me on a Friday night to finish the project, which we had only brought it in that day. The fabric itself was very thick and difficult to sew, but she kept trying until she got the seams to hold, using different machine parts and threads. I had a lovely experience here a few weeks ago. I had made a large, 2-sided baby blanket of fleece and felt with stars and moon on the blue side, and a big, yellow sun on the orange side. I was having trouble sewing the figures to the fabric and took the pinned pieces into this shop. Doh immediately understood the situation and promised to finish it all by 'day after tomorrow'. I totally trusted her with my special creative project. It turned out we needed to add something so after she skillfully sewed the figures, we worked together to complete it. The shop is clean and light; very nice feeling of creative energy. It was fun and harmonious to finish this together, and we worked out a price that suited both of us. My 1st grandson is in heaven in his beautiful blanket, and Doh is a perfect part of it. read more
