What kind of fabric is this??? And the stitching speaks for itself.

They did an extremely, extremely, EXTREMELY poor repair job on a $350 coat, essentially ruining my absolute favorite item of clothing. I had stood too close to a space heater on Christmas and burned the bottom of my adidas down coat. I brought it to this tailor with the hopes of hemming the entire coat to remove the singed part of the coat, I was told this would be "ugly" and she instead suggested we use a patch. She told me it would be "off" a little but I trusted her, she's the professional. Oh my god, if I could go back in time to save my coat. The repair job I was given back was literally the shoddiest job I can imagine, a horrible fabric that doesn't resemble my coat at all, okay, but they didn't cut off any of the burned fabric and just slapped a patch over hard burned material that is literally poking through the patch. The entire patch is loose stitching and would absolutely come off with any use or cleaning. I am so shocked that an actual seamstress or tailor did this job. I just want to cry. There are several other spots still open and not covered by the patch, I just can't even believe how bad it is. A person with any sense would have at least done the patch the whole length of the bottom of the coat? I have literally a random rectangle, it looks so ridiculous. I highly, highly suggest taking expensive items to someone else, I know I will.

Old Orchard did a beautiful job with my dress. The tailor knew exactly how to properly take in and up. It took about 6 days for her to get to it and it was ready when promised. It fit like a glove. She charged me $45 to shorten from the shoulders and take in the darts at the waist. It was another $30 to shorten the hem but there was a liner and she did a proper hem, not a whip stitch. This place is a little challenging to find if you haven't been here before. It's downstairs from the concierge. If you park at Barnes and Noble and walk straight past Ann Taylor you will see the Concierge sign. It's down the stairs at the end.

The main enterance to the area.

I've been taking my clothes to Sue for years, she is definitely one of the best.

It was both too much fabric, and weird pulling on the center seam. Stitch N Ready not only turned around the alteration in effectively a day (picked up next business day), but it lays even better than expected. SO happy and appreciative for their service.

The dress fit perfectly afterward and they completed it within a week, earlier than the pickup date I had asked for. The main issue for me was the organization during pickup. I received a text saying my dress was ready, but when I arrived they brought out a completely different piece of clothing even after I clearly described my dress. Turns out they had mixed up the name tags between my dress and someone else's. I ended up going to the back with them and immediately spotted my dress myself. I pointed it out and they asked if I was sure it was mine, which was a little strange. Then they asked me to try it on. At first I thought they just wanted to confirm the alterations looked right, but it turned out they wanted to see if it fit me to determine whether it was actually my dress. Thankfully it fit like a glove. Even after that, they still seemed unsure so I showed Yelp messages I had previously sent with photos of the dress, along with my receipt and even how much I paid. I usually throw receipts away, so thank goodness I still had it. After confirming in multiple different ways, they finally let me take my dress home. Another woman was also there picking up clothing after receiving a text notification and they were struggling to locate her item too, so it didn't seem like an isolated issue. Overall, I think the tailoring work itself is solid, but the shop felt pretty disorganized. The guy working there did apologize before I left, which I appreciated, but the whole process of having to repeatedly prove the dress was mine was definitely frustrating.

DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS…read more Here is what happened to me recently: July 25: 10:30 AM I go to Finest Fit cleaners to see if they can alter two jackets. The owner tells me to come back after 3 PM when she does alterations. Fair. July 26: 3:30 PM I return to Finest Fit the next day, she takes my measurements. The interaction is positive and she promises me I will have my items on August 9. Great...or so it seems. August 9, 4 PM I show up. The owner looks perplexed then tells me - it's not done yet. I look confused then realize she's not kidding. She hasn't done it yet. "Can you come back tomorrow?" "Um, no, I need this jacket for a trip that is tomorrow." Then she proceeds to give me attitude for not helping her find a solution... TO THE PROBLEM SHE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR. Hang on, I tell her. You've had TWO weeks to do this and you didn't. That's a you problem. She tells me to come back tomorrow. I tell her 8 AM. She says 10 AM. Fine. August 10, 10 AM I return as agreed, having had to upend my schedule to make her timeline work. First of all, there's no bell or alarm to indicate someone is there, so you have to shout into the ether to get someone's attention. She brings out the jacket and I move to try it on. "You don't have to try it on. It's perfect," she exclaims. "Well, if you rushed this, I need to make sure it fits, since your first attempt and getting it on time did not work." It fits, but upon later inspection it's shoddy sewing. Then she quotes the bill - $96 for the two jackets. Doesn't offer me a discount or any compensation for the fact that I had to upend my entire schedule because of her mistake. "It's like you don't really want me to be a repeat customer," I tell her. She then claims that she's understaffed and tries to elicit some sympathy but I don't really have much to give. She's not given me a real apology to this point nor attempted to show me she cares. When I try to get her to realize she's not leaving me in a great place, she scoffs and says, "Okay goodbye" and turns her back on me. I come home and one of the jackets is okay. The other is super poorly stitched, with threads hanging out, and the edge of the sleeve is uneven. --- I wish I had seen Lucas B's review from December 2020. She definitely pulled the same hostility on me for wanting to try my items on before I left. So my advice to you is simple: DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS.
