We recently celebrated our fellowship graduates at Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse, and the entire experience was absolutely exceptional! From the very beginning, Chip Mullen, the Relationship Manager, helped walk us through every step of planning our event. His professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail helped us create a truly memorable evening for our graduating fellows and faculty leadership. From the moment we walked through the doors until the very end of the evening, the staff was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. We hosted our celebration in the Buckeye Room, and it could not have been more perfect. Our Buckeye fans and alumni were over the moon with the décor and atmosphere--it added such a special touch to an already meaningful occasion. The food was AMAZING, and Michael, our server, was truly top-notch! He was attentive, personable, professional, and made sure our group was well cared for throughout the entire evening. Jeff Ruby's helped us turn a fellowship graduation dinner into a celebration our fellows and faculty will remember for years to come. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Jeff Ruby's this past weekend. After making the reservation I saw a post on Facebook that claimed Jeff Ruby's isn't what it used to be. We were a little worried but decided to see it through. I'm so glad we did! Everything about our experience was amazing. Valet parking is available which is always a plus. Walking in you're well aware you're in an upscale restaurant. The lights are dim and the design is rich and romantic. We arrived early and sat at the bar while waiting for our table. The hostess and the bartenders were all very attentive and professional. The hostess came to get us when our table was ready and we were asked if we preferred the elevator or stairs -we opted for the stairs going in, after filling our bellies we took the elevator! Our booth was spacious and comfortable, shaped almost circular so that we could sit close together but large enough there is plenty of space for more people. Our waiter, Sam, and his assistant, Brandon, very promptly arrived and introduced themselves. They brought amazing rye & sourdough bread in a basket with 2 choices of butter. Sam was very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were on par with what we had in mind. We both ordered half salads, I ordered the Freddie and my husband had the Iceberg Blue. Both fresh and flavorful, neither of us could choose a favorite. For our entrees my husband opted for the Steak Collinsworth and I chose the pork chops... we both were impressed with the pork chops. Very flavorful and juicy with just the perfect amount of charring. We also ordered mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. It was all delicious! My husband really enjoyed the creamed spinach and said it was among the best he's had. We were too full for dessert, but Sam treated us to a cupcake for our anniversary. The wife and spent our 11th yr anniversary at Jeff Ruby's and it was an unforgettable experience. Bailey our server took great care of us. He really knew his stuff from top to bottom. Really classy guy who dishes out 5 star service. As for the food. TOP SHELF. All of it. I ordered the Cowboy ribeye and it has a unique crust on it so if you dip the steak in ANYTHING you've just messed it up. |The Mac and cheese is what they say it is. Complex and the best ive had. There are two dining rooms at this steakhouse. The top dining room is absolutely stunning and beautiful. The colors are incredibly vibrant. The downstairs dining room is nice looking but much darker and far, far less vibrant. I was told the lower room was quieter and it seems much more private than the top level (don't miss the photographs of all the celebrities, actors, etc. near the restrooms). Personally, although we were seated downstairs, I would highly recommend asking to be seated in the top dining room for the best experience. Our food was mostly good to very good. The complimentary bread was very good. My petite filet mignon, with the blue cheese accompaniment, was a little unevenly cooked. Also, while I absolutely love blue cheese, the amount of blue cheese served on top and on the side of the steak was on the massive side. A little blue cheese goes a long way, folks. Don't sleep on the burger. It is very, very good and high quality. Normally, I would never order a burger at a steakhouse but I would at least consider ordering this one. For the sides (which are all shareable), the mac and cheese is wonderful and an absolute must order. The grilled asparagus was outstanding. The mashed potatoes were fairly ordinary. They do cocktails, wine, and mocktails very well here. In fact, the mocktails are excellent and were well appreciated by the non-drinkers among us. They also do desserts very well here. The carrot cake was as big as my big head and very light and flavorful. The buckeye pie, in the shape of Brutus, of course, is a giant peanut butter mouse that was excellent but also incredibly rich. It can easily be split by three or four people. You will roll out of this restaurant if you eat the buckeye pie. I gained 6 pounds just looking at it. Our service was mostly very good. For dress, some people dressed to impress while others wore baseball hats and casual clothes. So, there it is. Overall, we had a very good experience. read more

Everything that I ate was prepared with care. The group I was with shared many appetizers my favorite was the crab cake. Thee buckeye roll was amazing as well! My ribeye was cooked as requested, seasoned well and was a large thick portion. For desert we shared the Air Ruby, I was told that every Jeff Ruby location has their own shoe the location we visited had an air max. Super cute. It was a rich chocolate mousse Since I was with a work function we had a section. But inside they had a pianist and downstairs they have another bar, but I'm not sure if that is part of Jeff Ruby's but it looked like a nice classy time. Service: Our waiter and helping staff were excellent. Talkative and friendly. Joined into conversations and didn't seem rushed or uninterested. I will say charging me $10 for a bottle of water when I asked for regular ice water was a shock, but other than that the night was great. Ribeye was good. Perfectly cooked juicy, tender, fatty ribeye with a good crusting. I personally am not heavy into the fatty almost bland flavor of a ribeye. I enjoy more of a NY strips robust beef flavor but this was excellent. Well seasoned and tender. If you love ribeye this is gonna be one of the best if not the best option in the city. I'd recommended. Butter pie was incredible. This is easily their best dessert. Warm, gooey, rich yet not over done with a scoop of cold in house whipped vanilla ice cream to finish. This was a top tier dessert and one of the best options I've ever had. You couldn't possible skip this. Carrot cake was ok. Large slice with three layers. The carrot cake isn't exactly a carrot cake, but more like a spice cake. If you love spice cakes this is for you. If you're a carrot cake lover like myself, this definitely isn't. The white chocolate ganache was nice, the shavings added a subtle decedent aspect to the intensely spiced cake. This carrot cake was raisin and nut free and seemed carrot free too. Food and service very good. As good a steak as possible. The sushi rolls are tasty, properly flavored, and well prepared. My only criticism is that they have Dover sole on the menu. One of our diners asked how it is. The waiter said it is a light Mediterranean fish. Well, Dover sole is from Dover, England, so it costs extra. Should start by acknowledging this type of very upscale establishment is the opposite of where I'll typically find myself. Of course when your bosses and coworkers are looking for a fine-dining option and you're not paying, well, When in Rome, right? The layout is pretty chic, with chandeliers on the ceiling and the rat pack playing in the restaurant. Not too loud to talk to your seat mates either. Service was unsurprisingly excellent. Our large group had two full-time waiters who were there to meet with our every (reasonable) need. They knew the menu, could provide backstory on how certain items were made, were personable, etc. For my drink, I really enjoyed the Brandon's Old Fashioned. The alcohol was well balanced with espresso liquor and maple syrup. The food was also (unsurprisingly) excellent. We got a bunch of starters to share around the table. One litmus of a solid restaurant is how well they do crab cakes. Spending my childhood in Maryland, I know good crab cakes. So I set my expectations low and was astounded. Huge chunks of crabmeat and not too much breading. Guess you can set your expectations a little higher at a place this upscale. Also enjoyed trying the Oysters Rockefeller I got the cowboy steak for my main. It was good and flavorful but, if I'm being honest, a little underwhelming for the roughly $100 price point. For dessert, I got the Woodford chocolate cake. It was basically a whole cake shaped like a slice - I mean ginormous. Very tasty but wouldn't have minded even more of the woodford flavor to come through. Side note, one of my coworkers splurged on the $75 THEE Stadium. I won't spoil too much but if you're enough of a fan to know what sports team that references, it might just be worth paying that much for dessert. So, yeah, if you're looking to splurge on a fancy dinner that is also a unique and timeless experience (or your bosses are, LOL) this is definitely an excellent option. read more

We celebrated our 28th anniversary on the 15th. We ordered appetizers two entrees and sides. Finally for dessert we ordered the Ruby Vuitton. The food was good along with the service and gladly paid our $500 bill. Since we ordered so much food, we had leftovers. The leftover steaks equaled a full steak. The waiter's assistant packed up our leftovers and we left. When we got home, we realized that they did not put give us the steaks! We got the sides but no steaks. We called and spoke with the manager and she said she would give us a credit. We asked her to send an email for confirmation. To date, we've not heard. Great experience here! Came in for a celebration. First off, our waiter David was amazing. Incredibly friendly and knew the menu well. One of the best waiters I've ever had. Food was delicious. I had the Atlantic salmon. Delicious but I did think my fillet was pretty small for the price. The California till sushi was amazing too! Mac and cheese stole the show. For dessert we had the woodford chocolate cake which is the best piece of chocolate cake that I have ever had. Restaurant was beautiful, but we were seated in more of a side room not the main dining room. Would recommend requesting the main dining room and not the side room if able in the future. I wish I had taken pictures. Here in a business trip and we decided, spur of the moment to come here. No reservation so we say at the bar. Best choice! 1st the food was amazing! My friends had steak and it was cooked perfectly. So tender and juicy. I had the roast chicken. The best I've ever had. The skin was perfectly crisp and the meat was perfectly cooked. 2nd was the atmosphere. Absolutely gorgeous inside!!! You knew you walked into something special there second you opened the doors. First class all the way! We were in town for our annual pilgrimage with over 7,000 Baseball Coaches in attendance. We had a blast in Columbus. On our last evening we decided to try a higher end steakhouse. Jeff Ruby's was our choice. The service was above and beyond our expectations. Our meals were just as satisfying for us old coaches. Now I must say, if you're looking for just any type of steak quality, bring your big bucks because you're gonna pay a pretty penny here at Jeff Rubys. Tucked away close to the Hyatt nationwide area, I decided to hang with a Musician friend of mine coming from out of town and wanted to try their prime rib. Grateful that I wasn't paying the bill lol but that steak was amazing fresh juicy, and made to order like I like it, which was medium rare. The ambience is very classy and the service is very quick. Neat and totally worth the price that you're paying. The parking is a little scarce so you might wanna Uber or carpool going there. My daughters and I went last night . We had my favorite waiter Thomas that I always request. He is always so attentive and makes sure everything is great. We had the filet and lobster special that was going on. Food was wonderful as usual and cooked perfectly. I love their donuts that used to be on the menu . It was our favorite dessert . I visited Columbus for a work trip and was looking for a dinner option for me and my husband. This restaurant was super close to our hotel and my husband is a big fan of steak. I booked a reservation for 5:15pm on a Friday about 2 days before. The other options that were available were 8pm or later. The website did not mention a dress code, but we still dressed up nicer. When we got there, most people eating were in nice casual or business casual. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation, but they were still able to sit us right away. The first waiter got us settled with some ice water and cleared the extra place settings. Our main waiter then came and we asked him to share recommendations. He was well versed with the menu and had great recommendations. I appreciated that he was not pushy about getting the most expensive item, but shared varying menu ideas. One thing I did not realize was that the sides are not included with your main course meat option. However, they give you a good size portion and my husband and I were able to split it and still be plenty full at the end of the meal. We received bread as we waited for our food and it was fresh and warm. I ordered the It's Britney, Spritz. The presentation of the drink was beautiful, just ended up not being my favorite drink. I ordered the Petite Filet Mignon and it was cooked beautifully. The char on the outside plus the medium cook on the inside made it quite the experience. My husband and I split the Baked Macaroni and Cheese and it was absolutely phenomenal with the crisp cheese on top and the gooey cheese in the middle. The combinations of the cheese was divine. My husband ordered Grand Champion Miyazki Sunflower Wagyu Filet. It was truly the most unique and exquisite tasting filet we ever had in our lives. You could truly taste the sweetness of the sunflower in meat. During our dinner, the General Manager stopped by and checked in on us. We appreciated that gesture and he was very nice and easy to talk to. Overall, we had an amazing experience and while it is definitely one of the more expensive meals we have had, it was worth every penny. read more

We have long wanted to try Jeff Rub's and finally we did and we loved our dinner here. The ambiance of the restaurant is unique and awesome. I had the ribeye with the creole sauce topper and it was excellent and cooked perfectly. The creamed spinach and mashed potatoes (we added a lobster tail because why not) and both were excellent. We split the Roquefort salad which was huge but it was just ok and I wouldn't order that one again. The wine list is excellent (although they didn't have my first choice on their list which was surprising) and the service is top notch. Ordered the New York Strip, medium well, cooked to perfection. Steak was meant to arrive with a crab tail but chose mashed potatoes instead, the steak and the potatoes were a great combination. They steak was so tasty and something I actually enjoyed eating. I saw a bottle of steak sauce behind the bar but I cannot imagine anyone ever asking for it. The meal was worth every dollar!! This place is great! Came in on a Wednesday night to celebrate my daughter's birthday and her graduating with a Masters in Education. The ambiance is that of an old timed steak house, dark and ornate. Music was outstanding, with a mix of Sinatra, big band and jazz. Started with the Espresso martini and smoke old fashioned. Both were very good. I've seen smoked drinks with a better presentation, but the smell was there and the drink was tasty. Ordered a Jordan Cab to go with dinner that was a bit flat, but not bad enough for me to complain. Moved on to the French Onion Soup and tried some sushi. Had the Buckeye roll which was delicious, though the wasabi didn't set my hair on fire. Believe it or not, Kroger has better wasabi with their $5 sushi's! But that's not enough to bring me down either. We had the filet and the Delmonico boneless ribeye. My lord, the steaks were fantastic. So much so, I asked what the seasoning was on the ribeye and was told a proprietary blend of salt, paprika and spices, which they also sell. Got a tin of it that will last me a year! The filet was also very good and came with a bacon jam, that was more like a pork belly jam, which again was crazy good. As good as the meals was the desert. Got a piece of birthday butter pie. This thing just melted in your mouth! No idea how it was made or what was in it, and don't want to know. It is for a special occasion and anytime I can make it to Jeff Ruby's is a special occasion! The atmosphere is what the 1920's must have been at the height of decadence and indulgence. One almost expects to see a flapper in a shiny dress, wearing a bandeau, while smoking a cigarette on a long holder around each corner. Beautiful, luxurious decor. Getting back to why one would actually come here...the food. The server was very polite, but not knowledgeable. She said she "know[s] the fish is flown in weekly, but not sure which day of the week" for the sushi dishes. When we asked to speak with the sommelier, she said she could "maybe" find someone to answer questions about the champagne and wine. Then, they did not have the champagnes on their list. Their wine list is good, but one should not get one's heart set on a particular one because it may or may not be on the list. Have backup choices for the wines and champagnes. The bread service is sour dough and rye bread. The French onion soup was very salty, arrived slightly warm (not piping hot), and had an overwhelming taste of thyme. If it were less salty, had less thyme, and hotter, it would have been wonderful. The serving size is perfect, the cheese mild, and the broth was rich. The Brussel sprouts were amazing. The steak was slightly overcooked, but very flavorful. The Bearnaise sauce and horseradish cream accompanying the steak were very nice. The Mac-n- cheese is good, not great. The mashed potatoes were wonderful. Overall, great celebration dinner spot or date night spot. Beautiful setting. A few improvements and it would be a definite five! read more

Such a beautiful place! We loved the ambiance and decore. The service was also very prompt, personable, and knowledgeable. We had the oysters, Rockefeller and tuna tartare to start. The oysters were delicious! The tuna tartare was okay. It didn't have much flavor and really needed a lot more seasoning. The Caesar salad before dinner was very delicious. Can't go wrong with that.
