Do not come here for All-You-Can-Eat if you have a group of more than 4 people!! This place is not prepared to serve AYCE to large groups. We came with a large group of 11 people, and it took 2 hours for us to receive our first round of sushi. For context, in each round of ordering for AYCE, the staff here recommended that we order no more than 3 sushi rolls. So we ordered 33 rolls for our first round (3x11), and by the time we got that first round it was 9pm. It was a weeknight so it was hard to justify staying out later for more food, but how is 3 rolls/person fair for All-You-Can-Eat? And after waiting for 2 hours? We saw parties of 2 people come way after us and finish before us. I'm pretty sure they were pushing off our ticket because it was so large. The waitstaff were awesome but SEVERELY understaffed--the entire restaurant was being run by 2 waiters, one of which said it was his first day on the job. I had to go up and find utensils for the table myself because they were so swamped. I didn't fault the staff, they were trying their best, but rather the management's operations. The food was actually not bad--the appetizers were just okay but the rolls were pretty tasty and creative. If the operations weren't so terrible, I think I'd have enjoyed the food more. If they knew it was going to take so long for our whole order, I'd rather them just send out rolls as they were ready rather than send everything out at once. I hope management sees this into consideration, because food-wise this place has potential!

They're genuinely kind, friendly, and welcoming. They're highly attentive and are great at ensuring you feel comfortable during your visit. The food is AMAZING! The ramen is packed with flavor, perfectly cooked, and consistently delicious every time I visit. Their drink selection is just as impressive as the menu and pairs well with the food. For my birthday, I was happy to try this place out since this location was close to home. Columbus is slowly becoming the place for all things foodie and geeky and I love that for us! This place is located on the 1280 W 5th Street and Northwest Blvd. There is parking in the front, and the restaurant is small and cozy. The seating is for parties of 4 to 5 but arrangements can be made so talk to a server. The menu offered everything from drinks, small place to ramen and I wanted to try more. We got the salt and pepper shrimp, the Kyushu Karaage (Japanese fried chicken), Hot tea and Takoyaki for a group of 5. Everything was piping hot and delicious and lightly seasoned to bring out the flavors of the overall dish. The servers were sweet and extremely helpful for explaining what things were and me, being a ramen nerd, could sit back and relax. I got the Kyushu Black Garlic Tonkotsu. It was so GOOD!! I love the taste of black garlic and the umami in the dish was so pleasant. The noodles were chewy, and the pork slices were so tender. The Tendernism! IYKYK. 5 stars for a great birthday meal that did not break the bank. Well, my friend covered my bill. :)

We spent $230 (w/ tip) and it was worth every penny. Probably the best Japanese restaurant in the city. We passed by this place multiple times on our way elsewhere. We're Mario fans, so the name Yoshi caught our eye, but the cramped strip mall exterior doesn't exactly scream culinary dream. We decided to take a chance, and let me just say--wow. It's an intimate space with just a few tables and an 8-10 seat sushi bar. We didn't have reservations (make one, they fill up fast) but managed to snag seats at the bar. The service immediately stood out. We had better attention here than at some upscale steakhouses--glasses never went empty, and their menu suggestions were spot on. One minor heads-up: at the sushi bar, staff sometimes walk behind you to talk to the chefs, which can be a bit distracting. For starters, we grabbed the gyoza and asked for a standout small plate. They pointed us to the beef tongue. It arrived hot with shredded onions and spicy mustard, delivering a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with a deep, beefy richness. The gyoza was equally flawless. Instead of the overly chewy or burnt wrappers you find at most spots, these had a delicate, golden-brown sear with an intensely savory, garlicky umami filling. We paired this with Sayuri sake, a creamy, unfiltered pour that perfectly balanced sweetness with a dry, clean finish. Since we love nigiri, we ordered a spread: tuna, salmon, smoked salmon, sweet shrimp, and Japanese scallop, plus a salmon/avocado roll. The cuts were impeccably sourced and practically dissolved on the tongue. You rarely find this level of consistency. Just a heads up--they prepare it the traditional way, meaning there is a dab of wasabi tucked directly under the fish. We also tried the Wagyu A-5 roll. It's about as "meat and potatoes" as a roll can get: steak, carrots, asparagus, and rice. The seared Wagyu fat melted instantly, creating a decadent, buttery glaze over the crisp vegetables. It's one of those rare foods that genuinely forces you to pause after each bite. At $40, it was 100% worth it. I can't say enough about this experience. Next time, we're leveling up to the fatty tuna and Wagyu experience on their special menu. That's the exact culinary peak we've been looking for, and incredibly, it's tucked inside a suburban strip mall. Absolutely brilliant.
