With the closing of the downtown location we decided to support the Polaris site. Run don't walk as the meal was one of the best steakhouse meals we have had in a long time. Started with a Caesar salad. Then the petite filet duet and filet Maxwell. Added mushrooms and scalloped potatoes- all cooked perfect and delicious. Took home some dessert- Carrot and Cheese cake!!! One of my favorite spots to go for happy hour. The service, drinks and food are great. They have a private parking lot so that's easy. In the spring, summer and fall they have a wood burning fireplace with outdoor seating. That's a nice place to enjoy the evening. Today I opted for the Exotic Mojito and my fav, the surf and turf. Perfect portion for me. I love that they remove the entire shell from the shrimp, even the tail so you don't miss out on any bites. The chimichurri on the steak was great. My in laws came from California and wanted to try this for my husbands surprise birthday dinner. The manager nicole helped me with reservations and came to check on us multiple times throughout our dinner. Our server Fabio was absolutely terrific! Very knowledgeable about the menu and had many recommendations on different options. Helped my daughter find a good mocktail to try and for me to find a non steak option for dinner. Never felt rushed, he let us look over the menu and catch up with out of town family. Nicole brought us many yummy desserts to try for mine and my husbands birthdays. Steaks were all cooked perfectly and food came out all spaced very well. Restaurant appeared to be tidy and very clean. No dirty tables around. Was disappointed we needed a reservation on a Monday night and had to sit at the bar. The bartender, Michael, took his time clearing off the dirty dishes (but not washing the bar) before coming over to get our drink order. We were celebrating so we ordered a couple of drinks. Both the torched apple martini and peach sidecar were very bitter. We didn't finish them. We ordered food and asked for waters. Food took a while. We got waters after waiting at least 10 minutes. The French onion soup was not great. As for the tenderloin duet, one was medium (as requested), but the other was well done. The steak that came with the surf and turf was rare (had requested medium) and the lobster tail was overcooked and chewy. Their only saving grace was their scallop potatoes. Those were excellent. No one checked on us so we just ate and we never once got refills on our waters. Spent over $200 with tip for terrible service and subpar food. Will not be back. read more

So disappointed- we'd never been here before and had high expectations. Decided to come for my husband's birthday on a Saturday. It was very nice the servers had all signed a card for him at the table- this is a very thoughtful gesture. Our server was very sweet. She'd recommend the calamari. In all honesty... it was awful. It was not your typical calamari- it was huge chunks fried- looked like thick legs, not your typical rings. The sauce did not go well- and in general it was an odd pairing. We ordered the tomahawk for 2 which comes with soup or salad for each, as well as a side of your choice for each. I got the lobster bisque- not a bite of lobster in my soup- just good broth you can get almost anywhere. My husband's French onion was just ok.. The tomahawk my husband ordered medium rare- came out very rare. I had to send my pieces back to cook much more- again, it was just ok. The jalapeño potatoes tasted reheated- probably the best part of the meal was the truffle fries, sadly. My daughter did enjoy her cheeseburger off the kids menu. They did give us a complimentary cheesecake for his birthday- which was nice. Our meal came out to over $200- and we were very disappointed with the food. Soooo the kicker- we weren't too disappointed with anything because we had $200 in gift card to Cameron Mitchell's so we figured whatever it was a bad meal but at least we weren't paying for it. Guess what. Cameron Mitchell's sold earlier this year and I guess it's just Mitchell steakhouse now so you can no longer use the gift cards. That was a huge disappointment because we did not enjoy the meal at all. So over 240 with a tip and the food was just not up to par. We enjoy great meals- but will not be back here. The restaurant was pretty much empty on a Saturday evening, so we should've kind of taken that as a hint. Best of luck- but don't see it lasting. read more

We chose this place for Fathers Day. I was surprised that we were able to get a reservation the same day and very happy I could!! We were seated right away. We ordered meatballs for the appetizer and they brought out a big basket with bread and butter. The guys ordered 10oz filets, and I ordered the appetizer crabcake as an entree. It was delicious and HUGE. I also ordered the wedge salad and it had plenty of toppings. The dressing was blue cheese but had an added "something" that made it extra. So good! We were all so full so we ordered the desserts to go. The service was top notch! read more

While I've been to the Mitchell's Steakhouse downtown before, this was my first time dining at Mitchell's in Polaris. The building has a clean modern look to it and definitely feels upscale as you walk in. The servers are professional and efficient. The menu has everything you'd expect at a prime steakhouse. So far so good. I had their 7oz filet with shrimp, which was cooked medium as ordered. The meat was seasoned well and tender. But it didn't have the nice char on the surface that you'd expect at a prime steakhouse. At $53 for the 7oz filet and an additional $14 for the shrimp toppings, I really can't say that the plate I got was worth $67. (And sides all cost extra on top) At that price point, I would recommend Eddie Merlot's instead. They're literally just a block away. read more

We flew into Columbus and arrived late to our hotel in the Polaris Mall area, Mitchell's was recommended by a friend and we were not disappointed as they accommodated us dispute the late arrival. I had their steak Oscar and my companion had their Salmon, we shared the chopped salad which delicious as well as unique with the hearts of palm, and goat cheese. I tried their spiced prickly pear margarita and it was wonderful. Also tried the first house Cabernet also a wonderful choice. I don't typically leave poor ratings, but when it's bad, it's really bad, and I let it be known. First, it wasn't very busy, yet service was very very slow and inattentive. No idea as to why, but was consistently slow and poor all night. Second, out of the bottle of wine I ordered. OK, I found another. But they were also out of baked potatoes?! Go to the grocery store and buy a bag, Lastly, their only steak sauce was A-1. I don't usually use steak sauce, but when your steak is bad and overcooked, it can help cover up the taste a bit. Lastly, my $70 ribeye was small, thin, overcooked and of poor quality. I was going to send it back, but didn't want o crest a "scene" during a business dinner with clients. . There is no way that is prime beef. And medium means pink center not brown. It was well done plus. Not a good experience and they won't stay in business if they can't get their act together. Sorry, but that's a honest review of a very disappointing evening. read more

We had the best waiter we've probably had anywhere ever. I'm not sure what his name was, but if you go here ask for the guy from Staten Island. This was probably a 3 star review with just an average waiter, but he elevated the whole experience and subsequently the rating for us. Outside of that, the food was sus, I had the wagyu strip which had absolutely excellent flavor but was extremely difficult to chew. I ended up having to abandon half the steak, which stinks for an $80 cut of meat. And while the mashed potatoes had excellent flavor, they were like warm at best. The salads to begin the meal were actually very good. And while I'm not usually a bread guy, the bread here was irresistible. We skipped dessert and I'm sure it would have been excellent. My daughter did love her filet and she's a filet connoisseur! I do think we would give it another shot, and I'd probably just go with the filet next time myself. However, the service was far from stellar. 1- the waiter guy did not introduce himself. 2- he spelled my husband's wine and then told him, "I've been doing this 20 years... There's plenty of juice left in that glass." 3- the salad we ordered did not ever appear and was not on the bill, so apparently did not get ordered. 4- my husband had two glasses of wine and the waiter charged him for three. 5- the waiter did not return to check on us, so we went to the bar, asked for a to go box, and got the tab corrected with the help of a very nice young lady waiter. They had another bartender make it and I sent it back because... it was not good. I asked the lady why she wouldn't make it (I've been to Mitchell's many many times and even have a loyalty card, so she knows who I am and she also knows I enjoy how she makes the drink) she stated she was "busy." I simply said you could've come over and stated that and I would've waited. Mind you, I'm asking her this while she's finding things to do behind the bar. Moral is... make the damn drink for a regular. Instead, you waste alcohol and get a bad review. I do not recommend this place at all. Instead go to Mitchell's ocean club (not affiliated, thankfully) in Easton and enjoy an upscale experience and not a low class one such as Mitchell's Steakhouse Polaris. read more

I have always enjoyed the Polaris Mitchell's location. It is super swanky and high end. The restaurant is dimly lit which provides for a romantic and intimate ambience. This restaurant also boasts a great cocktail selection. I highly recommend the Old Fashioned. It is tasty and high quality. For dinner, you've got to go with the steak. Their steaks are amazing! I went with the filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection and I loved the seasoning. They also have a great selection of delectable desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth! No longer a Cameron Mitchell's restaurant, and it shows. The biggest disappointment was the poor service and attention that you would expect for such a high price establishment, especially compared to what we've experienced at other Cameron Mitchell restaurants. If our server said "my apologies" once, he said it 20 times. We did not get the sense he was new, just not of great caliber. It wasn't until the third time we asked that he cleared off dirty dishes from previous courses, and still did not take them all. That's basic server 101. There's nothing like trying to enjoy your main course or dessert with dirty plates and dishes from the previous courses on the table. The quality of the food was inconsistent. Appetizers and side courses were delicious, but we went there for the steaks and were let down. I had the bourbon ribeye, and my daughter had the fillet. We were both surprised at the toughness of the cook, especially the fillet. Our server told me I would be impressed with the marbling on the ribeye, but candidly it ended up more gristle than marble. it's not often my daughter and I get a chance to go to dinner together and with a more than $200 price tag, I was certainly expecting more quality and care for their reputation. Next time we will stick with proper Cameron Mitchell restaurants. read more

We went here with our friends for dinner during restaurant week. We all ordered from the restaurant week menu, which was $40/person. For the first course we got lobster bisque. The bisque was delicious, but I felt it could have been creamier with a bit more lobster meat. We got the braised short rib with gnocchi and vegetables. The short rib was melt in your mouth and delicious. We ordered sides dishes separately as an extra cost to our order. We got mac & cheese, corn, and mashed potatoes. The sides could definitely be a bit more dressed up. I found it odd that there was no actual steak to order from the restaurant week menu. If you are going to a steakhouse, you mainly want to try steak. All other $40 restaurant week steakhouses had steaks offered on their menus. The main entree choices had short rib, salmon, shrimp linguine, but no steak which was a bummer, especially for the price. We got creme brûlée and warm butter cake for dessert, and both were delicious. I found the cake to be a bit too rich for me, but loved the creme brûlée. Overall, a very fulfilling meal and would like to try to their steak sometime. read more

The manager came over and offered to remake my filet and reheat my dates strip steak. My dates steak returned with no sides and nothing for me. We asked if we could eat our entire meal at the same time not piece by piece when they came out. The table side butter was still solid and not melted. The ambiance was wonderful! We had a phenomenal time, and our server was great. However the quality of food was subpar. I with a party of 10 for a gift exchange and the table had a wide variety of food ordered and there was an issue with 6 of the 10. I had a simple Caesar salad with pan seared salmon. There was no seasoning on the salmon and the small piece was over cooked. The lettuce was mushy, but the dressing did have great flavor, it was just tough to get thorough the soggy lettuce.
