My new Internist had recommended a baseline skin exam so I set out to Yelp to see who was available. Ani was rated 4.5 stars and generally received glowing reviews. As others have stated, it takes a couple of months to be seen for an exam. She has offices in both Oakland and Lafayette, but since the Oakland office had more available time slots I opted for Oakland. She explained to me that, along with exams, she performs surgery on certain days therefore it can be somewhat difficult finding an appointment in the very near future. I was first impressed with her sense of humor and fun spirit. It's clear she loves her profession and she is very competent at her work. Like other reviews on this site, I found that she and her assistant were very prompt. The exam consisted of a lighted Jeweler type magnifying glass which she used to inspect my body from head to toe. The exam is very thorough. I was give a "clean bill of health". When I told her that I golf, she explained that not only should I wear sunblock and a hat but make sure to wear a golf glove on BOTH hands. She stated she sees golfer patients from time to time that have gotten skin cancer on the hand that is not normally gloved. I would definitely recommend Ani to anyone searching for a highly competent Dermatologist.

I am also busy and have a 3 month wait for non urgent patients. But when you have established patients with urgent concerns you accommodate them in an urgent fashion. 3 weeks is not urgent. A 13 year old with a new onset raised itchy facial rash is not something that can wait 3 weeks. I told them this is not up to my expectations of care and is poor patient care and they said "we are sorry to hear that but we do understand if you will need to see another dermatologist. We have a lot of urgent concerns that has been requesting to schedule but we cannot accommodate everyone." Wow. As a physician I am appalled. I would never let my staff say this to a patient!

Dr Aycock's Office said he cannot assist me any further with my ear: I now have to fly to Los Angeles to see an ear reconstruction specialist, as there are none in the Bay Area who are able to fix Dr Ayocks prior work. The cost (not including travel is $10,725. I asked Dr Aycock's office if they could assist with the surgical costs and did not get a response. So, what I thought was going to be 1 surgery for $5800 has turned into 6 surgeries for $30,000

From consultation to post-op care, I had zero complaints. Fast forward 18 years - my results were still amazing with no issues at all. I simply decided I wanted to switch from saline to silicone. I was sad to hear Dr. Prescott had retired, so I consulted with two other surgeons - one of whom came highly recommended in Folsom. Unfortunately, I didn't feel confident moving forward. Both told me they would need to create a new incision under my breast for the implant exchange. I asked why we couldn't go through my original incision (which is barely visible along my lower areola line), and they said reopening it wasn't a good idea and wasn't even an option. When I met Dr. Eberlin, everything changed. I was immediately relieved when I asked where the new incision would need to be, and without hesitation he said we could use my existing incision. He explained that I had healed beautifully and that areolar incisions are known to heal very well and offer natural camouflage compared to the 3-4 inch incisions that some surgeons still make under the breast. He also uses the Keller Funnel technique, something many top surgeons use - which allows for a "no-touch" implant placement. This reduces the risk of bacterial contamination and, in my case, allowed him to go through my original incision. That was incredibly important to me. If you're considering this procedure, I would highly recommend watching videos on how the Keller Funnel works. Unless you are choosing extremely large implants, in my opinion it's a much better approach than creating a larger incision under the breast. From the moment I left my consultation, I knew I would proceed with him. I never felt pressured or rushed. It felt like a thoughtful, genuine conversation. He gave his professional opinion when I asked, but ultimately empowered me to decide on the size and approach that felt right for me. On surgery day, he came in to speak with me beforehand and made sure I felt completely comfortable. Again, no rushing - just calm, confident care. Beyond his technical skill, he is simply a kind and caring human being. You can tell he truly loves what he does and is passionate about his work. I am beyond happy and so grateful I found him.
