Had an absolutely amazing breakfast here today. The orange juice was spectacular. Fresh squeezed and delicious. Their homemade sausage is to die for, they cook scrambled eggs perfectly soft, and the hashbrowns were salty and delicious and perfectly crisp. Would not recommend or return. Came with the kids and took awhile for the servers to acknowledge that we were waiting for a table. Took a very long time to flag someone down to take our order. The plastic glasses are yellow. Had to ask 3 times (from 2 different servers) for straws. Asked twice for silverware. The food took quite awhile to come, one of the servers even thought we were already done and asked how we were and then realized we hadn't even received our food. The plating was absolutely horrible. They placed the fruits on the plate with the French Toast and it made the French toast soggy. The whole plate was drenched with fruit juice. The breakfast burrito was horrible!! Do not get it! The tortilla was soggy from the pico de gallo on the plate. The filling was stuffed with pcio de gallo too, there wasn't any substance. Just cheese and pico de gallo. Paid extra for protein and couldn't find hardly any pieces of meat. No one came back once to ask how the food was and if we needed anything. The server that's a shorter than the other two, with dark brown hair was not very friendly. The other two servers were friendly . Sadly, this place feels like a soft opening restaurant. The food was fantastic and most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, one of the ladies delivering food came across as rude to us during the meal. She raised her voice at us a couple of times, mentioned that the plates were "too heavy," and when I politely reminded her about a few forgotten items, she responded with a sarcastic and dismissive comment that caught me off guard. It stood out because everyone else we interacted with was very kind and professional. To be fair, it was close to closing time, so she may have been feeling rushed or overwhelmed. WOW!! Food is outstanding. My monthly Diner Group (6) went to Jeffrey's Grill for Brunch. Food was so delicious. I had their Huevos Rancheros, my wife had Eggs and Ham, our friends had Buttermilk Pancakes, a Salad Nicoise, two eggs and sausage and two eggs with bacon. All very simple orders but amazing in their prep and presentation. We are new to this area and are so pleased to find out about Jeffrey's Grill and Catering. We have ordered catering twice now and all was tasty and on time. I like that we bring in our dishes for the food we order and not contribute to the to plastic waste. The dish we bring is filled so if I want a small amount, I bring a small dish. The same goes for a large amount. I find this very helpful. I plan to use this service often. read more

This was absolutely my favorite restaurant in the valley. I tell guests about it at work all the time. Today I took my friend to lunch and was quite disappointed. She ordered a glass of champagne. It was lacking the bubbles champagne is known for. She told a waiter (young kid) who replied "yeah it's probably flat." Ummm...my friend switched to red wine. I got the green eggs and ham omelette like normal. I used to say it was the best omelette on the peninsula. I can't say that anymore. It literally came out barely like warm. Potatoes were cold too. Even if it was warm it still would have been lousy. No I didn't say anything (I never return food), but I won't ever go there again. It's really sad. The prices are higher than ever, which I understand, but the quality has gone completely down. Which is not ok by me. Service was mediocre. Not great not horrible. Go elsewhere I'd say. read more

Local's favorite place. We came on the recommendation of friends who live in Carmel. Very welcoming cafe-style casual restaurant with indoor & outdoor patio dining. Extensive menu and also a specials menu it was hard to decide and everyone's meal around us looked so good. We had the Corralito sausage & avocado Benedict which was served with a side of country potatoes. The sausage was tasty & hearty and the eggs were perfectly cooked and topped with a delicious homemade hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were a bit burnt but otherwise ok. We also had the mango pancakes which exceed our expectations as the perfectly ripe mangoes were cut in slices both into the pancake batter as well as on top of the stack. We got regular maple syrup as well as house made orange syrup which went well with the mangoes. The coffee was good and my mug was refilled as needed. Excellent service - very friendly, knowledgeable & professional staff who all appear to take a lot of pride and love in this restaurant - something we really like since we don't always see this in all places. Clearly a local spot, a bit off the beaten path. It was fairly easy to get seated when we came for brunch on Sunday, since they have both indoor and outdoor seating. I got the eggs benedict with calamari steak. I wasn't sure what to expect for the calamari steak, but turns out it's just a slab of calamari that's breaded. I didn't love the breading (there was some spicing in it I didn't like), but the poached eggs were good. The real highlight though was the fruit it came with (subbed instead of potatoes), which had strawberries, blueberries, mango, even papaya. All really fresh too (no mushy fruit to be found). First, the lobster omelette on their weekend menu was best ever and I've eaten many omelettes during my life. The seafood was great, cheese but not too much eggs were great. Jeffrey's is our favorite breakfast spot when in Carmel. Our family has enjoyed meals at this location the past ten years when visiting Carmel. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. You will not find friendlier staff than at Jeffrey's. They treat you like family. They have a big menu offering breakfast and lunch all day. You cannot go wrong with their Eggs Benedict as they are all amazing. My husband gets the classic and I have tried many of their daily special options. The portobello, spinach and avacado one is my favorite but they have all been delcious. Just ask for light hollandaise sauce or for it to be on the side as they can go a bit heavy. We also substitute the side of potatoes for a side of fruit. The berry pancakes are another favorite of ours. The hot chocolate and European latte are our favorite beverages. Jeffrey's is a special place and is worth checking out when visiting Carmel. read more

Great food. This is my sister and her husbands favorite places for breakfast. My sisters and our 4 dogs grabbed a table outside under the heat lamp. The service was quick and attentive. The server was polite and friendly. I had a decaf latte. I wish I could make them as good. I also had the seafood omelet. It was stuffed with prawns and crab meat. The hollandaise sauce is terrific. The inlet is made with 3 eggs so there was a lot of it. Jeffries is very popular so you may have to wait but it's worth it. We will all be back. read more

I think this restaurant has changed hands in the last year. It was our go to place for breakfast or brunch...great location with outdoor seating & consistently good food. I had a wild mushroom omlette..it was served all alone on it's plate...no slice of orange or even parsley. The mushrooms were a watery pile of canned mushrooms. Very disappointing! My lunch partner had apple fritters (good) and scrambled eggs. Those were on a separate plate - again nothing else to accompany the eggs. Just sitting lonely on a saucer. I'm embarrassed to have recommended it - but with a bit more attention to the food, they would get more customers. This is very much a "locals" place - with the locals used to getting their usual high quality of food. I'm sure they will lose those loyal customers. read more

We decided to sit at the bar top and we're served super fast and the bar top was very cute. Our server was super nice and answered any questions that we needed. We used Jeffrey's Catering for a family event and they did a fantastic job! Paige, the catering manager, was honest in helping us decide on the amount of food we needed (and her recommendations were spot on), very well-organized, and easy to work with. Julie, our server, not only decorated the table with fresh greens and strings of lights but also set the table for appetizers and then reset the table for the entrees and salads. Julie provided individual service for our guests and kept everything clean and well-organized. Ray, our chef, made sure the food was ready to serve and delicious! When all was done, we had nothing to clean up (except to turn on the dishwasher) because everything had been put away and wiped down including the refrigerator. Food was great and very friendly staff! I understand that most people in town have dogs and most restaurants are dog friendly which is totally ok. But there are also people that are allergic or maybe not comfortable with seeing so much hair around when eating. We were sitting inside since outdoor there was not one table with out a dog and we still had to see the servers black shirt full of different dogs hair which was not a good experience. I am giving the 4 start for food and staff but would really be nice to pay attention to that small group of people too ;) read more

A Life-long favorite of me, my family, my friends... basically everybody I know who has eaten here. Food is so good that I rarely remember to take a photo! It's the first spot on my list whenever I'm back in town. The menu is not only expansive, but flexible, and reasonably priced. A particular shout-out to their legendary breakfast potatoes -- no matter what I'm ordering, i always got to have a side of them. Love the Corralitos sausage as well: best sausage in the county, great choice of an outside vendor. My go-to order is the NY Steak sandwich. The chicken sandwich is killer as well. When they're on offer, i love the ribs. The only problem is that the serving sizes are large enough that i've never had room for dessert! A good problem to have. The servers are always friendly and attentive -- and even after I've been away from months, they remember my usual order! read more

While visiting Carmel Valley for the Thanksgiving and birthday holiday, we decided to try a local favorite, Jeffrey's. The reviews were very tempting, so we went on Sunday morning (yes they were quite busy). We got a nice table outside, the friendly servers helped us right away. I started with a delicious fresh squeezed orange juice, then ordered the crab cake benedict. It was really great. Hubby ordered the special pulled pork huevos rancheros and he seemed to like them as well. All in all, a great breakfast spot, with wonderful and friendly servers and good prices. This place is worth it only when there isn't a wait. Service is interesting, not sure what it is. Not exactly rude but not the nicest. Menu is lacking as there aren't many options, like for pancakes. Pancakes with berries: 6/10 They were bland and pretty dry. The amount of berries was good though and saved them. Fresh seafood omelette: 8/10 This was pretty good! I liked the hollandaise sauce as it gives it more flavor. Potatoes were very crispy. Overall, good portion. Everyone else likes their food, especially the sausage and apple fritters. After discussing the sad dimise of quality at the Wagon Wheel mu friend recommended we try the Benedicts at Jeffery's and boy am I glad we did. He was right. I ordered the Non-traditional Benedict (with lox instead of Canadian bacon) I got a half order, which was plenty. It came with Country Potatoes and, even though I would have prefered Hash Browns, these crispy delights were great to mop up the left over Dill Holandaise. My buddy had the Apple Fritters and Sausage, which disappeared pretty quickly, too. The place was cute and busy, but not obnoxiously crowded. The service was quick and efficient. We'll definitely be back because there's a lot more on the menu to try (Calamari Benedict Special!), and they're pretty darn affordable. read more

Warm Egg plant sandwich with hummus etc. is my favorite at 13.99!! I continue to visit this nice little place and never mind waiting for an outdoor seat since it is sunny in mid valley and it's nice to walk around the center while waiting. I go here because the price, quality and quantity of the food are all awesome! Love the breakfast potatoes and the rich seafood omelette as well. Eggs Benny a great option as well. My credit card was overcharged/altered from the amount I had left for a tip and also altered as to the final bill price. I only discovered it because the final receipt is automatically emailed to me. The receipt I was given only reflected the charges for the meal and the tax. The merchants copy reflected the tip I filled in and the final total amount I also filled in and signed. The amounts I wrote in were CLEARLY visible! This is NOT okay and in fact is illegal. This waitress has served us before and always has a really nasty attitude, she clearly hates her job and it shows. Never fills up water glasses, asks how the food is or even bothers to bring the check in a timely manner if at all. Her attitude is overall hostile. I use to love this place but the last few years the quality of the wait staff and the food has really declined. I will not be returning, not that they will care! read more

Wife and had the mushroom omelette and loved it. Service: It was more on point to where a mom and pops place should be. Friendly servers and staff. Very clean and ample room to stretch out, and I could tell this was a locals haunt rather than a tourist frequented establishment. Finally, don't leave without purchasing a bag of Jeffries spicy nuts. There are an assortment of nuts, but beware they sellout, and it might be of the one you want. Great for salads. I went with Jeffrey's Catering to provide a repast feast after my mother's interment. Unfortunately it was on very short notice due to the weather and other factors. But Paige, the catering manager, pulled it off as if we'd been planning for a month. The venue was a clubhouse in a gated community, she and the team worked out the logistics and created an amazing evening. She helped put together an amazing menu, including: Italian Style Meatballs with Green Peppercorn sauce Mini Spinach Quiches Grilled Chicken Satay with peanut sauce Pepper-crusted Steak with Pear & Gorgonzola on Toast Points Chilled Prawns with Horseradish cocktail sauce Turkey Biscuits with Cranberry Relish Sweet Red Pepper Corn Muffins with Butter Herbed Polenta Rounds with Sundried Tomatoes & Chevre The staff led by Tony Arellano was incredible; they handled our early arrival and the brisk weather (the bar was outside) with aplomb. The table was always plied with food and the team circulated constantly among the guests taking empty plates or providing fresh ones. We supplied beer and wine and the team set it up as though it were part of the furniture. We had nothing to do but eat great food, drink and reminisce. I was comforted by their expertise in handling everything and leaving nothing to worry about. What I did not expect was to find, after packing my father into my car early to return home, that one of the staff had followed us out with two plates of food that he liked the most from the offerings. We recently got Jeffrey's catering and were beyond happy with the experience. Paige was fantastic at helping us come up with a menu that could accommodate everyone's food preferences, and was super easy to communicate with and quick to respond. Julie was our server the day of the dinner and went above and beyond for all of us. The food was incredible- the filet mignon was cooked perfectly, even the kids loved the menu. By the end of the dinner, Julie had everything packed up and dishes in the dishwasher. She took care of all the details so we all could just enjoy ourselves. The food is excellent and the service is just beyond incredible. Highly recommend!! I know we'll be using them again! read more

We have been wanting to replace our old favorite "Any Port in a Storm" breakfast place, Exstravaganza, with a new cafe, and Jeffrey's is IT! Lovely outdoor seating in the cafe in the middle of the Mid-Valley shopping center allowed us to enjoy the fresh air and sunshine of Carmel Valley. It is also a bit off the beaten path of Highway 1 and Rio Road, so it feels more calm. One a recent morning, we went here for a mid-day meal. My honey ordered his huge "Firefighter's" breakfast of bacon, potatoes, an egg over easy and tiny pancakes on the side. I opted for a Salad Nicoise, which came with fresh grilled tuna, creating a hearty lunch salad with lots of protein! We had very nice, personalized service from a young waitress, who obviously enjoyed working there. Our first time there, and felt like we ate there every week! We will be sure to return! read more
