They were very nice in accommodating my gluten free needs and the food was delicious. I will be back.

Local's favorite place. We came on the recommendation of friends who live in Carmel. Very welcoming cafe-style casual restaurant with indoor & outdoor patio dining. Extensive menu and also a specials menu it was hard to decide and everyone's meal around us looked so good. We had the Corralito sausage & avocado Benedict which was served with a side of country potatoes. The sausage was tasty & hearty and the eggs were perfectly cooked and topped with a delicious homemade hollandaise sauce. The potatoes were a bit burnt but otherwise ok. We also had the mango pancakes which exceed our expectations as the perfectly ripe mangoes were cut in slices both into the pancake batter as well as on top of the stack. We got regular maple syrup as well as house made orange syrup which went well with the mangoes. The coffee was good and my mug was refilled as needed. Excellent service - very friendly, knowledgeable & professional staff who all appear to take a lot of pride and love in this restaurant - something we really like since we don't always see this in all places. Reasonable prices and generous portions. So glad we ate here. We will have to return and bring our loved ones introduce them to Jeffrey's.

Jeffreys is such a cute little spot. I love sitting outside there for brunch or lunch, it's so relaxing. The food is super yum and the waitstaff was quick and attentive. I highly recommend the hot chocolate. It was super pretty and yum too!

Great food. This is my sister and her husbands favorite places for breakfast. My sisters and our 4 dogs grabbed a table outside under the heat lamp. The service was quick and attentive. The server was polite and friendly. I had a decaf latte. I wish I could make them as good. I also had the seafood omelet. It was stuffed with prawns and crab meat. The hollandaise sauce is terrific. The inlet is made with 3 eggs so there was a lot of it. Jeffries is very popular so you may have to wait but it's worth it. We will all be back.

    Coffee

My sister Son, and I decided to stop by Jefferies for a quick cappuccino and lunch while we were doing laundry. We decided to sit at the bar top and we're served super fast and the bar top was very cute. Our server was super nice and answered any questions that we needed. It was beautiful inside and out the restaurant and we had a really great lunch. We will be back.

Food was great and very friendly staff! I understand that most people in town have dogs and most restaurants are dog friendly which is totally ok. But there are also people that are allergic or maybe not comfortable with seeing so much hair around when eating. We were sitting inside since outdoor there was not one table with out a dog and we still had to see the servers black shirt full of different dogs hair which was not a good experience. I am giving the 4 start for food and staff but would really be nice to pay attention to that small group of people too ;)

We've been to Valley Kitchen dozens of times and the food gets better and tastier. It's evident that the chef and team explores how to incorporate fresh, local, and fine ingredients and bring to life the best of CVR's and California's identity to its dishes. Our favorites are the smoked salmon sourced from Santa Cruz and smoked at Valley Kitchen, Upside Down Hot Honey Cornbread .. and love how he uses the honey, cheese, and garden ingredients. At one point, we had strict diet restrictions and asked Chef Andrew to cook without sugar and to keep our meals below 5g of carb. Not only did we stick to our strict keto diet while traveling but we also fell in love with every single dish he made. Chef Andrew embraced this opportunity to test and adjust to meet our diet needs AND introduce us to new ingredients to include into our diet. We are forever grateful. On this trip, although we asked for his avocado dessert, he politely recommended Chef Molly's desserts. I love how he puts the entire team at the center of the experience. It's a team effort and the desserts were unique to Carmel -- especially with CVR lavender curd. The people who work at CVR and Valley Kitchen are top notch. They are extremely attentive, respectful, and friendly. Many of the servers have been there for years and it shows that when there is a good work culture that it translates to better customer service. The ambiance brings a combination of natural beauty, warmth and coziness (especially with the fireplace), and Californian modern and sleek. I love the Zafferano Pina lamps that provide an intimate experience and enough light to the table (need to see what we're eating!). Thank you, Chef Andrew and team for letting us experience culinary excellence while we rest and heal at our happy place.

Plaza Linda is a bit off the beaten path, seeing as though it is deep in Carmel Valley, but we thoroughly enjoyed it. We went early (5:30) and the place was fairly empty but it got busier quickly. The service was very good and the food delicious. I'd say it is what BC used to be. The one knock I'd say is a relatively limited Margarita menu, but the Cadillacs we had were tasty. We sat inside but they're is a cool outside area that looks over a gorgeous wooded part of the Valley that I'm sure is amazing in the Summer. Turns out we were the first customers for lunch. We were greeted and seated immediately, and the waiter was attentive during our whole meal. I had two carne asada tacos and rice, which were delicious. My mom had a cheese enchilada plate with rice and beans and she enjoyed it very much. We ordered chips and salsa, too, which cost a little extra; unfortunately, the chips were a bit stale. The salsa was good though. Several more customers arrived before we finished, but I think it must get busier later in the afternoon because the waitstaff was busy wiping down all the patio tables while we were there. Overall, an excellent lunch at a comfortable establishment.

Nothing about the drink or dinner menu was too wild or stood out as unique. Considering there are many interesting dining establishments in the Carmel area, I felt like Shearwater Tavern upheld their standard in a foodie town by sourcing local ingredients and craft beers. The artichoke dip pays tribute to a local crop and was pretty tasty. The serving was generous, so we were grateful to our server for providing some extra sourdough for scooping up the last of the cheesy, warm dip. Oh, and Wednesday's are half off bottles of wine! The restaurant was situated away from the hotel common area to allow for a more intimate dining experience but still close enough to the lobby and rooms for convenience. There were some folks smoking in the parking lot, and the smoke smell was making its way into the dining room. A band was wrapping up for the night as we were being seated, and it seemed like there is regularly live music in the lounge area of the restaurant. The service was friendly, prompt, and food decent. As a guest in the hotel, it was easy to charge the meal to the room. Solid choice for an easy meal if staying at the hotel. More concerning, the texture and taste didn't resemble what I would expect from prawns at all. I brought this up with our waitress, who acknowledged my concern but ultimately explained that the prawns are "seasonal" and left it at that. No alternative, replacement, or adjustment was offered, which was frustrating given the clear mismatch. I ended up leaving greatly dissatisfied and felt that my concern wasn't taken seriously. I had actually planned to return for another reservation but decided to cancel based on this experience. I emailed the manager and never heard back which was even further disappointing Sharing this in hopes that the restaurant improves how it handles situations like this, as good service recovery would have made a big difference.

The Experience & Service: There was some noticeable confusion when our meals were served. A food runner brought out my husband's plate first, then turned to me and asked if I had ordered anything. When I told her I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict, she asked if our server had mentioned they were out of it and if I had picked a replacement. He hadn't told me anything of the sort. A few minutes later, our server came by to reassure me my food would be out shortly, bringing a small bowl of fruit to tide me over. My plate did eventually arrive, but the miscommunication up front was a bit awkward. The Food: Crab Cake Benedict: Unfortunately, the dish was just okay. The crab cake itself tasted like a pre-breaded, frozen patty rather than freshly made. Smothered under the poached eggs and hollandaise sauce, it was fine, but nothing special. Omelet & Home Fries: My husband really enjoyed his omelet. However, his side of home fries was a letdown--they weren't cooked through properly and had an off-taste of old fryer oil. Final Verdict: The staff is nice and trying hard during a busy rush, but given the service hiccups and average food execution, I'm not sure we would return if we're in the area again.

The brioche and sauce overpower the abalone... so all you taste is brioche and butter sauce. - The farm fowl is hearty and comforting. The quail is quite tender. Loved all the veg in the dish too. - Salmon was perfectly prepared... meaty yet tender. Sadly the low points.... outweigh what should have been a lovely dinner out. - We received our wine AFTER we were mostly done with our appetizers. We even waited to start enjoying our appetizers thinking our wine would be out at the same time. Since my soup was getting cold, I could not wait any longer and had 1 bite left when our wine finally showed up. - Our server seemed overtaxed. It appeared he was trying to help literally everyone from what I could tell and disappeared for long stretches of time. - The 1 mom (sitting at the table behind us) constantly telling her toddler to sit down (the toddler was actually quiet, it was the mom that was irritating). - The multi family, multi kid large table that sat in the middle of the patio (while not super noisy) was disruptive with the kids constantly walking around all the tables and going back and forth from the patio to the "outside" down the stairs by our table.
