Lalla is a great addition to the promenade's food settings, lunch and dinner. Waitress was patient and attentive. Wish there were more seafood offerings. Mahi tacos were enjoyed. The Alfredo (Lallafredo) was all about garlic. If a little garlic is good, a lot of garlic is not better. Instead, add some variety or contrast with vegetables. Not a veggie in sight. Chicken was too heavily seasoned with spicy coating. Luncheon salad - Fresh Corned grilled with Chicken - had to search to find the corn. Mostly greens (nice & fresh) and too little toppings (grilled zucchini, corn, avocado). While that imbalance would be been OK as a side dish, it wasn't as a main dish. read more

The waiter Diego was terrible he didn't bother to check on us leaving like we had no service at all. The hostess and staff were very attentive and quick to seat us, even though the restaurant was quite busy on a Saturday evening around 7:00 PM. My wife and I both enjoyed our cocktails--they were well-balanced and expertly crafted. For dinner, my wife chose the Argentine Chicken, and I had the Birria Burger. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, with excellent flavor and beautiful presentation. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the evening. Pulled into town for some golf tomorrow. Saw this restaurant and figured I give it a try. The restaurant has been open for. business for under a month. Was immediately seated at the bar. Service 4/5: It took a few minutes for the 2nd bartender to take my drink order....walked by me multiple times without acknowledging me. Most would ask if I wanted to order food. She walked away. I had to wave her back after 5 mins. Food: 5/5. Ordered the Carne Asada tacos (3). It's served w pinto beans. Carne asada was cooked to perfection. Had a little kick to it . Pinto beans were good as well. Nice buzz in this new establishment. They do have patio seating which was full earlier. Give this place some time to iron out some process kinks...they'll be good. There are sister restaurants in Del Monte and Oceanside. read more

Will definitely go again. Went for lunch before a movie across the way. Friendly, attentive and caring service. Absolutely loved the Quinoa xxx salad with quinoa spinach dried cranberries pecans green apple and lightly dressed, possibly a creamy vinaigrette? Actually, without pulling up menu, perhaps it wasn't even really addressing, but just something that moistened the ingredients. One thing I liked was that the quinoa was just say sprinkled or no not sprinkled. It wasn't a scoop or bed of quinoa instead just part of the overall ingredients. Another thing I liked was that I only finished half and the second half was just as delicious a whole day later. That surprised me, as I usually don't fancy taking home salad. Amazing new spot! I loved the decor, the vibes, and the great ambience. There is a wonderful bar in the middle and they have the most amazing drinks! I had the French martini, which was perfect! Diego was our server and was so kind, warm, and welcoming! Carlos is the manager I think and made us truly feel at home. This place was so kid-friendly too! Their kid menu was huge and had everything from pizza and Mac and cheese to Junior steak and salmon! I had the Argentine steak and my husband had the salmon - both were delicious. We had the bread pudding for dessert and it was fabulous. This is our new favorite local joint and we can't wait to go back! read more

We were here on 06/26 Friday night around 7pm and the restaurant was pretty packed. The hostess told us there's going to be a 25 min wait which was understandable. We were seated around 7:30 in their patio where the hostess has warned us it will be warm because of the heaters. When we got to our seats it was indeed warm but they couldn't turn it lower. We ordered and there was a bit of a wait for the food to come out because I guess the kitchen was busy. We did order calamari for appetizers but the weird thing was it came with the mains. We ordered the lalla burger, bacon something burger, chicken piccata and chicken argentine. The calamari tasted a little different not like how we're used to. I'm not sure if it's because they used different kinds of squid. The burgers were good and the chicken piccata was good too but I felt like it needed a little more seasoning. The Chicken argentine that my friend ordered looked dry and we had to ask the server for the chimichurri sauce. The place loo nice and if you want a loud crowd ask to be seated in their patio. The tables are very close to each other and if you have a broken foot or other disability, it makes it difficult to get out of the middle of a row that is almost elbow to elbow. If only the seats were vertically layed out instead of horizontally. The food: We love Lala's in Monterey, but somehow the raspberry salad left me disappointed. It was swimming in chia seeds and very unpalatable. My husband did enjoy his chicken salad with beets. We drove up from LA for the long weekend and found this absolute gem right off the 1 - so convenient. Friday night I had the butternut squash enchiladas with a gin and tonic cocktail and it hit the spot. I absolutely loved the enchiladas. The food, atmosphere, and service were all fantastic, plus they have a great kids menu which made it easy. It was so good we actually went back again Sunday night before we left town. After the best nachos of my life, no joke, as an appetizer, I had the vodka pasta dish with blackened chicken and it was another home run. My husband had the quesabirria which I stole a few bites of - it was also amazing. My son loved the kids burger and fries and my daughter loved the lentils and kids salmon. Such a yummy, kid-friendly spot, but also upscale / quality food and there's even a great little kids play area so close for a post-dinner activity for the kids. Loved it. The drinks were just as impressive: Oaxaca Sunset, Coppola Old Fashioned, Alejandro's Paloma, and a margarita that absolutely hit the spot. Even during a busy rush, the service was quick and seamless, with attentive and genuinely friendly staff. The atmosphere inside is vibrant, welcoming, and full of great energy. We have been waiting for this location to open and are so happy we finally got a chance to check it out. We've dined at the two other locations on Cannery Row and at Del Monte and have never been disappointed with the food or the service. This location did not disappoint and look forward to coming back and bringing our family. Our server, Omar provided great customer service and checked in with us often. The ultimate neighborhood restaurant! We have been in four times now. They have done such a great job with the menu, creating the kind of comfort classics menu that truly has something for everyone without feeling unfocused. The restaurant design is fresh and cheerful. The cooking is thoughtful, the dishes we've tried have been really well executed and perfectly seasoned. Mahi mahi in the fish tacos was grilled perfectly, breaded chicken cutlet was crisp and juicy inside, and the broccolini accompanying it was not an afterthought- seasoned so nicely with sautéed garlic and chili flake. Birria tacos were killer. Salad with grilled salmon was fresh and tasty. Korean style wings were delicious but incredibly messy so ask for extra napkins. The portions are huge, appetizers are shareable with a group. It's unreal that Marina has a restaurant that is this delicious and inviting. With so much to choose from on the menu, this is our new headquarters. read more

I have been waiting for so long for this spot to open up. My family loves the other Lallas locations so we were excited about one opening close to our house. The decor is cool and the menu is as good as the Del Monte location. Unfortunately, we visited on Mother's Day and sat at the bar and had pretty sub par service. The female bartender seemed like she didn't want to be there and we almost had to beg to her to take our order. There were only 6 people at the bar but she walked by several times without even looking at us as if it was busier. We had to ask to get more drinks and our food took over 45 minutes and then came out wrong. We'll be back but likely will not sit at the bar if the same bartender is there. read more

The place was packed so we placed an order for pick up. There's a good amount of parking spaces. We just ordered fish & chips, the nachos, bread pudding & the pomegranate limeade. It took over 40+ mins for the order to be ready. The fries were soggy, nachos were cold, the pomegranate limeade was very very sweet, and the ice cream for the bread pudding was melted. You'd think that the ice cream would sit in the freezer until it's ready for pick up, but I guess not. We also subbed steak instead of chicken, which was $5, but got the chicken...the place just opened last month I believe so there's room for improvement hopefully. read more

Sat at the hightops during a busy dinner hour, bartender was as attentive to us as if we were sitting at the bar and was patient with the order changes and additions we made too. We had dinner there last week and would have given it 5 stars but there was one major problem we encountered. Two of us wanted the strawberry salad but it was listed on menu that it came with prawns at the price of $27.00. We didn't want prawns in it, just a regular strawberry salad like they sell in Monterey for $15.00. We spoke to server and we would be charged the full price of $27.00 without prawns, makes no sense. All of their salads come with some sort of protein in it which should be offered as extra like they do in Monterey restaurant. I will be very hesitant to eat here again in Marina restaurant until they change these salads on menu to be offered without protein at lower price. read more
