The hostess and staff were very attentive and quick to seat us, even though the restaurant was quite busy on a Saturday evening around 7:00 PM. My wife and I both enjoyed our cocktails--they were well-balanced and expertly crafted. For dinner, my wife chose the Argentine Chicken, and I had the Birria Burger. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, with excellent flavor and beautiful presentation. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the evening. We drove up from LA for the long weekend and found this absolute gem right off the 1 - so convenient. Friday night I had the butternut squash enchiladas with a gin and tonic cocktail and it hit the spot. I absolutely loved the enchiladas. The food, atmosphere, and service were all fantastic, plus they have a great kids menu which made it easy. It was so good we actually went back again Sunday night before we left town. After the best nachos of my life, no joke, as an appetizer, I had the vodka pasta dish with blackened chicken and it was another home run. My husband had the quesabirria which I stole a few bites of - it was also amazing. My son loved the kids burger and fries and my daughter loved the lentils and kids salmon. Such a yummy, kid-friendly spot, but also upscale / quality food and there's even a great little kids play area so close for a post-dinner activity for the kids. Loved it. Pulled into town for some golf tomorrow. Saw this restaurant and figured I give it a try. The restaurant has been open for. business for under a month. Was immediately seated at the bar. Service 4/5: It took a few minutes for the 2nd bartender to take my drink order....walked by me multiple times without acknowledging me. Most would ask if I wanted to order food. She walked away. I had to wave her back after 5 mins. Food: 5/5. Ordered the Carne Asada tacos (3). It's served w pinto beans. Carne asada was cooked to perfection. Had a little kick to it . Pinto beans were good as well. Nice buzz in this new establishment. They do have patio seating which was full earlier. Give this place some time to iron out some process kinks...they'll be good. Amazing new spot! I loved the decor, the vibes, and the great ambience. There is a wonderful bar in the middle and they have the most amazing drinks! I had the French martini, which was perfect! Diego was our server and was so kind, warm, and welcoming! Carlos is the manager I think and made us truly feel at home. This place was so kid-friendly too! Their kid menu was huge and had everything from pizza and Mac and cheese to Junior steak and salmon! I had the Argentine steak and my husband had the salmon - both were delicious. We had the bread pudding for dessert and it was fabulous. This is our new favorite local joint and we can't wait to go back! read more

The tables are very close to each other and if you have a broken foot or other disability, it makes it difficult to get out of the middle of a row that is almost elbow to elbow. If only the seats were vertically layed out instead of horizontally. The food: We love Lala's in Monterey, but somehow the quinoa salad left me disappointed. It was swimming in chia seeds and very unpalatable. My husband did enjoy his chicken salad with beets. Absolutely loving this spot! The food was incredible -- I had the bolognese and my wife went with the steak frites, and both were amazing. The drinks were just as impressive: Oaxaca Sunset, Coppola Old Fashioned, Alejandro's Paloma, and a margarita that absolutely hit the spot. Even during a busy rush, the service was quick and seamless, with attentive and genuinely friendly staff. The atmosphere inside is vibrant, welcoming, and full of great energy. The food was pretty good. Very cold unsmiling bartender was extremely rude. I asked for a skinny margarita with a tiny bit of agave and she argued with me-told me 4 times that's not a skinny margarita. Bar back was kind and new building is fresh and clean. read more

The ultimate neighborhood restaurant! We have been in four times now. They have done such a great job with the menu, creating the kind of comfort classics menu that truly has something for everyone without feeling unfocused. The restaurant design is fresh and cheerful. The cooking is thoughtful, the dishes we've tried have been really well executed and perfectly seasoned. Mahi mahi in the fish tacos was grilled perfectly, breaded chicken cutlet was crisp and juicy inside, and the broccolini accompanying it was not an afterthought- seasoned so nicely with sautéed garlic and chili flake. Birria tacos were killer. Salad with grilled salmon was fresh and tasty. Korean style wings were delicious but incredibly messy so ask for extra napkins. The portions are huge, appetizers are shareable with a group. It's unreal that Marina has a restaurant that is this delicious and inviting. With so much to choose from on the menu, this is our new headquarters. read more

I have been waiting for so long for this spot to open up. My family loves the other Lallas locations so we were excited about one opening close to our house. The decor is cool and the menu is as good as the Del Monte location. Unfortunately, we visited on Mother's Day and sat at the bar and had pretty sub par service. The female bartender seemed like she didn't want to be there and we almost had to beg to her to take our order. There were only 6 people at the bar but she walked by several times without even looking at us as if it was busier. We had to ask to get more drinks and our food took over 45 minutes and then came out wrong. We'll be back but likely will not sit at the bar if the same bartender is there. read more

The place was packed so we placed an order for pick up. There's a good amount of parking spaces. We just ordered fish & chips, the nachos, bread pudding & the pomegranate limeade. It took over 40+ mins for the order to be ready. The fries were soggy, nachos were cold, the pomegranate limeade was very very sweet, and the ice cream for the bread pudding was melted. You'd think that the ice cream would sit in the freezer until it's ready for pick up, but I guess not. We also subbed steak instead of chicken, which was $5, but got the chicken...the place just opened last month I believe so there's room for improvement hopefully. read more

Sat at the hightops during a busy dinner hour, bartender was as attentive to us as if we were sitting at the bar and was patient with the order changes and additions we made too. I think the food here is the best of any Lalla's and the staff is attentive as well. Also happy to know Rigo is running the ship! read more

We had dinner there last week and would have given it 5 stars but there was one major problem we encountered. Two of us wanted the strawberry salad but it was listed on menu that it came with prawns at the price of $27.00. We didn't want prawns in it, just a regular strawberry salad like they sell in Monterey for $15.00. We spoke to server and we would be charged the full price of $27.00 without prawns, makes no sense. All of their salads come with some sort of protein in it which should be offered as extra like they do in Monterey restaurant. I will be very hesitant to eat here again in Marina restaurant until they change these salads on menu to be offered without protein at lower price. read more
