Stopped by Jeff's Bagel Run in Blakeney to try it out and grabbed an asiago bagel with onion and chive cream cheese for breakfast. The bagel itself was decent, not bad at all, but nothing that really stood out either. It was served room temperature and not toasted, which I probably should have asked for since it was my first visit and I wasn't sure how they normally prepare them. It also wasn't cut all the way through, so I ended up finishing the assembly when I got back home. Flavor-wise everything was fine and the cream cheese was good, but overall it landed somewhere in the middle for me. Not bad by any means, just not something I'd find myself dreaming about later. Still worth trying if you're in the area, but next time I'd definitely ask for it toasted (if thats even a thing.. I'm not sure yet). read more

First time trying Jeff's Bagel Run and they did not disappoint. I placed my order on the app and everything was ready when I arrived bright and early at 6:30am. I ordered a dozen bagels and a flight of cream cheese. For my dozen bagels I ordered: 3) Cinnamon Sugar, (2) Cacio e Pepe, (2) Asiago, (2) Blueberry, (3) Lemon Blueberry. For my cream cheese flight I ordered: (1) Cookies & Cream, (1) Cannoli, (1)Cake Batter. The bagels all came sliced. I was more in love with the sweet than the savory bagels. I got the cheese savory bagels and after they cooled down the cheese separated from the bagels. It also was crunchy. I think I will stick to the sweet bagels in the future. I loved the cream cheese flight. Allows you to sample a few of their different options and it's good size amount of cream cheese however you probably need to get 2 if not 3 flights for a dozen bagels depending on how much cream cheese you like on your bagels. Since it's pumpkin spice season, I had to try their latte, and it hit the mark without being overly sweet. The shop itself was clean and quiet, not too busy, which made the visit more enjoyable. Restrooms were well kept (a detail I always appreciate). Menus were placed a bit too high, so not the easiest to read at a glance, but once you figure it out, the options are worth it. Anthony provided us with great service today! He knocked out orders for a very long line around 8:45am this morning. We ordered lavender-vanilla oatmilk lattes, rosemary salt, everything, cinnamon raisin bagel. I can throw around my NY/CT bagel decades long credentials like a lot of the other yelpers. Though I think we need to consider the Greater Charlotte Area for the "standard" down here. If you want NY bagels, make your own store and show NC how it's done, I'll come visit! This place does not boast for this style of bagel, so it shouldn't be held to the same standard. (Like going to Chicago for a NY pizza) For CLT area, it's my favorite- great salt content, good chew. And my over the top is the dairy free spread options this place provides. The spreads are big enough to fit on 2 bagels for my taste. I was lucky enough to have my everything bagel straight out the oven- and you can't beat that. Pro tip: on the app, you can get a fresh baked dozen ($22 for fresh baked to order, $17 for already made fresh from the bin) A note- I think another espresso machine will be needed down the line, wait for the coffee was long. read more

The bagels are amazing here and I love their options for cream cheese. I do wish they were able to offer sandwiches (like bacon, egg, and cheese) but for a bagel place that just offers cream cheeses with their bagels, I was super impressed! Very disappointed. A bagel with butter and a coffee for $8.50, with tip, almost $10. They give you a cup of butter which is for about 3 bagels and charge you $2.25. They don't butter the bagels for you. They give you the butter and a wooden knife fir you to do it yourself. They don't make your coffee. You have to do that yourself also. The bagel was ok, and the coffee was ok, but not worth $10. Will never go there again. read more

I saw this place on IG and asked them if they had dairy free bagels (because most places don't) and they did! Made the 35 min drive to Jeff's and was blown away by the greatness. They have three types of vegan cream cheese and the blueberry bagel was perfect. A sweet crisp on the outside and a soft perfect doughy inside. Great vegan cream cheese too! Plus they are so friendly and made sure to ask how everything was when I left. 10/10 I also got bagels to go so of course I had them for breakfast today. Thanks everyone! I'm obsessed with this place and have been 2x since they opened last week. First time I got: 3 bagels- cacio e Pepe, rosemary salt, cheddar onion (bagel of the day) ** all were perfectly soft, nothing you would break your tooth on lol I got 3 spreads -- a flight! Espresso (limited time), roasted jalapeño, cannoli. I quickly realized I didn't pick the best pairings but it didn't matter. All bagels and spreads were amazing and so fresh! The setup is very quick because they are not making any sandwiches and honestly-- I don't miss it. When you concentrate on the quality and variety of fresh bagels and cream cheese- you are rarely are missing the latter. The pricing-- AMAZING. I was able to get 3 bagels, a flight of spreads (3) , and a large cold brew for under $13! Not to mention that the spreads can be enough to cover 2 bagels. Nevertheless, I wanted to give this place a try and to confirm my suspicions; The Bagels are "Machine Made" & simply "Devoid" of any "Love" in them. I like the "Open Bagel Bakery" Set Up - Its Cute, lots of employees pretending to be busy and just not getting anything done. Nevertheless, the "Unsophisticated" Ballantyne Crowd is entertained for now and this so called Bagel Shop, in its infancy, was hoping. I don't suspect they will be around for the long term future, unless they evolve their entire concept and product. As suspected, the shelf life of the bagel is a few hours - We picked up a Dozen at around Noon and by 7PM tonight - The Bagels had Cardiac Arrested and must be disposed of. Jeff's Bagel Run seems more interested in its process than bagels. I did like that nifty Bagel cutting machine. Not for me. Won't be back! So, I spent the afternoon feeling ripped off and my wife was furious that she couldn't enjoy a Bagel with Cream Cheese for the car ride home to our "Food Desert" of a neighborhood. Sent my significant other for a bagel run and he was NOT impressed. The level of customer service was lacking. He was not greeted. The coffee is not hot and he would have had to wait 20 minutes for hot coffee. He was told they'd get to the coffee when they can. So we're off to looking for a new spot for bagels. read more

Just had my first experience at this bagel joint. Overall the food is fine but...I probably have been to 50 or more bagel joints in my life and I don't think I've ever been in a bagel shop that does not have the ability to toast your bagel. I don't get that at all. It totally changes and enhances the flavor of the bagel. I also haven't been to a bagel joint in years that doesn't offer a honey walnut or honey almond spread. Like Panera, they give you a bagel cut in half a cup of cream cheese and a wooden knife to spread yourself. I was so excited to get a local bagel place after the Bagel Bin closed,. The Bagel Bin had consistently good bagels (for NC) but inconsistent service that turned customers off. Since moving here from NY I significantly adjusted my bagel standards accordingly but these might be the worst bagels I have had. Rubbery, doughy and overall bad. Not the bagels we so bad, but when you go into a bagel store and order a bagel with cream cheese you expect the cream cheese to be put on the bagel. They have an online app to order ahead of time. Ordered from home and was given 5 minutes for pick up. Arrived 10 min later and wasn't ready. Waited 20 more to try and be nice before interrupting someone since they were busy. My order ticket was just sitting on the counter while they ran thru walk in customers. Don't advertise online and give a pick up if you are not going to have it ready. Whole Foods bagels are just as good and will not get pissed off while just trying to get breakfast. read more

The bagels were warm when we ordered, the major issue was the smell. It smelled like rotting cheese and was very unpleasant and ruined my appetite.
