Visited The Salty Donut in Ballantyne, and the experience was much better than the one I've had at the Nashville location. One thing I always struggle with in Nashville is that they tend to run out of donuts and drinks pretty early in the day. Even by late afternoon, there are very few options left. That wasn't the case here. When I visited, they still had a great selection of donuts available, which made the experience much more enjoyable. I finally got the chance to try their lattes, and they did not disappoint. The Banana Bread Latte was one of the best specialty lattes I've had--rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The Café con Leche was equally impressive and absolutely delicious. The donuts were just as fresh and delicious as always, and having plenty of options to choose from made the visit even better. Overall, this location exceeded my expectations. I only wish the Nashville stores would stock more throughout the day so customers can enjoy the same experience. If you're near Ballantyne, this location is definitely worth a visit! read more

The donuts are delightful (esp anything pistachio)..... they're generally fresh and fluffy. However, we were so put off the last time we went because we ordered glazed donut holes that also appeared to be fresh and delicious.... We get to the car and try to sneak one with a quick pop in our mouths and OMG. Stale stale stale. They were so bad - all of us stopped mid-chew and scrambled for napkins because we couldn't even force them down. It made us very scared for the remaining items, but they were fine - just proceed with caution. Not all glazed sparkling things are delicious. We may try again, but it will take some time before I can convince my family to give it a go. I am out of town visiting and this is my first time here. I really wanted to get the breakfast sandwich so I decided to get my coffee there as well. The breakfast sandwich was amazing! I would absolutely get it again. It was savory and flaky and just really good bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Unfortunately, I did not like the coffee! The service was great. Donuts weren't as good as expected, plus a bit small for the price. Tried the blueberry maple (gluten free) and it was okay. Located in the bowl, the Salty stands out due to its niche and curated spot with modern art deco vibes and bespoke drinks and treats. I loved the interior of this place and while we waited you can explore their merch or explore their vast menu of items. We each had a coffee and donut. And also opted for a ham croissant. Everything was amazingly delicious. While the staff helped us put together our bespoke coffee the donut decisions made it harder to pick out what we wanted. We ended up with a pistachio cannoli donut which was to die for. While the cookies and cream left me disappointed due to its over crowded mess of chocolate on top. The chocolate syrup gets messy so just be aware. While this was a costly adventure we will be back as there are things we are already craving. read more

Came here on a weekend afternoon. There's plenty of parking on the street or in one of the shared lots. This place is relatively new in the Ballentine area. It was clean in the staff were friendly. I quite enjoyed my delicious treats to have an assortment of donuts available. I got the Cinnabon doughnut which was soft and fresh will definitely come back again. Looking for something new and sweet? You have to try the Salty Donut. When people ask what they remind me of, I honestly can't put it into words these donuts have their own unique taste. I love that they weren't extremely sweet, nor were they too greasy. They were the perfect donut. You really have to try them to understand. I tried the Butter Scotch and the Traditional Glaze. The staff at the establishment were friendly, and since it was my first time, they were able to recommend what to try which led me to the choices I picked. The location is great as well, with ample parking. This is a great place to meet up with a friend for a quick catch-up. Salty Donut continues to expand and was pleased with my experience at this location. If you're picking a line of donuts I would definitely take them over Dunkin or Krispy Kreme just know you will be paying slightly more for the quality of donuts you are getting (they're better). Since it's a franchise, donuts are cookie cutter, so quality should stay consistent but also nothing truly unique. Also, I would say service can be a little slow (may be under staffed) at this location. The shop itself is very clean and peacefully pleasant to be inside. Honestly wouldn't recommend their brew of coffee, not the best and it's around Starbucks level prices. I have loved the Salty (previously named the Salty Donut) since back when I was living in Miami. I'm so excited that CLT has two locations now and I no longer have to wait in a 20 person line for these donuts on the weekends like I did back when I was living in Miami. The Salty carries gourmet brioche donuts. These aren't your typical donuts so it is not right to be comparing them to Krispy Cream or Dunkin. These are fancy, loaded and delicious donuts and one (maybe two) should be enough for one person. The best way to eat them is to get a few and split them with friends so that you can try more than one flavor! I love the Bowl location. It's super convenient and the shop is clean and beautiful with very nice employees. There's also a lot of indoor and outdoor seating as well as a conference room looking area with a conference table and outlets in case you need to study, do some work or meet with clients. They also serve delicious coffees and other breakfast foods like sandwiches. Love this place. Highly recommend. read more

Everyone is friendly, the place is very cool space. It's much larger inside than I thought. They have a meeting room, as well as tables inside in the back. The patio is lovely. Very disappointing experience. There was poor communication around the 1/12 promotion for a dozen donuts for $12. Before the store even opened, we were told by a store employee that the donuts weren't ready yet, only to be informed 20 minutes later that the promotion had already been allocated to preorders. This felt like a bait-and-switch. If the promotion was already spoken for, that should have been clearly communicated upfront instead of misleading customers and wasting their time. To be honest, I didn't order anything. I am leaving this review for the owner/manager. My fiancé and I walked in and were so disrespected. The person at the counter wouldn't make eye contact with us and keep repeating over and over that we needed to look at the display. The display was "worn" to say the least. While we were still standing there another couple walked in and she did the same thing. First, maybe the owner should have them secret shopped bc no one in their right mind would buy from someone who is rude and disrespectful. I was visiting from CA and found this cool place. I asked the staff how I could pre-order some donuts to take back home with me in a few days. Later, I downloaded the app, but it wouldn't let me pre-order anything. So I went through DoorDash yesterday and pre-ordered six donuts to be delivered nearby this morning. At the time that I was expecting the delivery, I received a text from the delivery person saying that they were out of donuts and they did not know exactly when the donuts I had ordered would be available. I was willing to wait but I have to leave for the airport within the hour. DoorDash ended up canceling my order and the delivery person apologized. I am very disappointed that I can't get my order today. I would expect that pre-orders would be planned for and accommodated in a better manner. It's a shame.
