My husband and I have been wanting to try Jeff's Texas Style BBQ for a long time. Drove past at 11ish and noticed there was already a line. Ran our errands and made our way back around 2. The line inside was about 6 deep but it moved fast with more folks piling in as fast as customers left. To our disappointment, there was a sign saying they were out of some items which was fine because there were other delicious choices available. I had the pulled pork sandwich, my husband had the brisket sandwich. We also ordered 1/2 doz wings, sides of baked beans and mac and cheese to share. The meat on both sandwiches was moist and flavorful, I could only eat half since I indulged in wings and sides. The beans were a little smoky and a little sweet. Came here for lunch on a Saturday after searching for lunch spots near the Seattle Premium Outlets and I am glad that we ended up coming herel. Really good and authentic BBQ, and they also have a weekly special menu which is where we ordered wings and fries from. I had the brisket sandwich and was very pleased. They have lots of sides to choose from such as Mac and cheese, beans, potato salad and coleslaw, they even have a few different bbq sauces to choose from and a couple of desserts including pecan pie and banana pudding. The pulled pork looked like it came from dog food. Mush. Then they offered two slice of white bread? The macaronni and cheese was runny. There are far better places to get good brisket and pulled pork. My first and last time at this place. Try the Train Wreck in Burlington, or Brileys in Lake City. We came here for lunch, and I was just in happy tears to know they serve Texas style with sliced breads, SWEET TEA, and Big Red for my Southerners who know about it. The menu is basic and straight to the point with a handful of tray options. You can also purchase meat by the half pound, sides by container sizes, desserts, and condiments for sale too. Their sauces, milk and spicy bbq sauce was a hit and their Carolina mustard was bombbbb with the sausage links. Jeff's is definitely a hit in town! A good number of people were in line to order. There is only 1 line with 1 person taking orders and another making orders as they go. The dining area has a good number of tables for about 8-10 parties inside plus patio seating for when it's nice. So this recommendation came from erika.taste.test on instagram. My wife and decided to try a new spot for BBQ today and were pleasantly surprised with our choice. The Outside -the restaurant is on main street in Marysville, WA. It is very unassuming and looks exactly like a place where you want to eat (a hole in the wall). The weirdest thing is that this place has been here for ten years! TEN YEARS!!!! How is possible that this place has been here that long without me knowing about it? The Inside - the first thing that struck me is how much bigger it is than we expected. You have to order at the counter, so if you like to be doted on I don't suggest you come here. There is a good selection of meats and sides. The Staff - didn't have a lot of interaction with staff, but the little we did have was pleasant. The Drinks - ok, so we didn't notice the teas until we had completed our orders and were walking g away with them and our sodas...we'll have to come back and try them - oh darn! The Food - my wife ordered the brisket with a side of potato salad . I ordered pork belly with a side of Mac and cheese. The pork was incredible! To my surprise the Mac and cheese was amazing, probably the best I've had. The presentation was average, but neither here nor there. The brisket was also good as was the potato salad. Overall - I highly recommend this place drive out of your way if you must. Remember that Jeffs can and does sell out. I love BBQ and I was shocked to see Texas BBQ in a town north of Seattle that had sweet tea! Sweet tea and BBQ is always a winner for me! I really had a hard time deciding what I wanted so I went with the little tray that comes with a 1/3 pound of meat and one side. I usually eat more but my family was cooking so I had to eat a little bit lighter. With Texas BBQ, you always go with brisket. This brisket was every bit of Texas I expected! I chose beans since they were bold and made with brisket. They were almost as good as the brisket! I couldn't help myself so I added a sausage link. I would get it again but it was not as good as the brisket. Sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! The one problem I had with Jeff's is the sauce situation. I am a sauce-aholic. At the register, there is a note that says 50 cents each for sauce. I wanted all 3. The lady gave them to me for free for it being my first time but it makes me wonder if now on, I would be charged for each sauce. It seemed like I wasn't going to at least get one with the meal. Having gone to college in Texas, I can honestly tell you that Jeff's Texas style barbecue is pretty close to what I've experienced. It is delicious. The food is very good. The service is good as well. The ambience could be more lively. The prices are reasonable to the portion size. The beans that I had some nice heat. The reason for the four stars is do too the restaurant being unkept. Also, walking in and out of the restaurant there was an individual shooting up heroin. There were needles next to the individual. Boy do these folks have it down when it comes to Texas BBQ. It's clear their love for it from all the photos of the legends on the walls. I've been to numerous joints all over Texas, famous and not. Jeff's can hold there own against the majority of them. We came for lunch on a Sunday (great smoke aroma in the air on arrival) and it was almost full of patrons and filling many to go orders. The staff was super friendly and accommodating when asked questions. The menu is full of the BBQ faves-Brisket, ribs, sausage, turkey. Meats by the half pound, sandwiches, and trays of varying sizes that include sides. We chose two small trays today with the addition of a single original sausage link. Brisket tray with house made potato salad and a turkey tray with mac & cheese. The food was wonderful all the way around. And enough to have leftovers for the next day. The one small disappointment was that the brisket, while excellently smoked with a nice crisp bark and clear pink smoke ring, was a bit on the dry side. The original bbq sauce was a perfect addition to the brisket. The turkey breast was a revelation. Peppery seasoning on the outside complimented the moist breast meat. Something I don't remember seeing before at a bbq spot was offered with the turkey, clarified butter. They would spoon some over the meat for you or supply it on the side which is what we did. It was delicious but we decided for us it was not needed. The meat stood out just on its own. If you are a smoked turkey fan do not miss. As for the sides, I truly think the two we had could be combined with a dessert as a meal. The potato salad was outstanding. I looked at it and said right away, this is the way I'd make it. Mayo, a little mustard, and pickle. I can see buying a large continuity of this to serve a group. The mac & cheese was excellent, creamy cheesy, made with a bit of black pepper for added flavor. Again, this is just the way it's served in my home. Loved it. And what's a bbq meal without some dessert. The house made pecan pie looked delicious (next time!) but I chose the one thing I never miss a chance to try when available. Banana pudding. The one sold here is an excellent version. The best side is their baked beans - chunks of bbq brisket, pineapple and a little kick of spice will make you come back for more. I have to say I went to Jeff's Texas barbecue the other day I really enjoyed it. It reminded me from back home since I'm from Texas Oklahoma area. The only thing that was different was it didn't have any okra. Dill, pickles, potato salad, baked potatoes, hush puppies, and some catfish that's all around Texas barbecue place but this place was actually wonderful and there were tendering good I'd go back there for that and I also would cater for them.
