OMG the best Filipino food we have come across living in the IE for the past decade. Flavors were light, fragrant and bursting. We ordered chicken skewers, the peanut sauce was *Chef's kiss, loved the ginger and the addition of the green onions and cilantro just elevates the dish. The pork lumpia was tasty, not oily or overcooked and I enjoyed that the pancit wasn't dry and it had just the right touch of fish sauce and I love when they include the lemon slices. I wish you all had a restaurant or traveled outside of Redlands because I could definitely eat here daily. We for sure will visit again when in the area, now that we know your schedule. This is a pickup only restaurant that is perfect for takeout. I texted the number associated with the Yelp and the owner responded right away with the menu, instructions, and how to pay. I got the beef noodle soup as they are mostly cook to order and beef noodle soup was one of the things they had in stock today! Now time for the breakdown: The good: AMPLE, I mean a LOT of beef pieces. They aren't stingy at all which is amazing value for this dish that came out to be $11.96 total including tax. The avg: I saw they had some thick noodles in the pics here but what I got were some thin noodles with not a lot of texture. That might be on me though cuz I didn't specify my preferences. The bad: there isn't many veggies in this and the soup is incredibly salty. What I will do next time is maybe ask them to skip the noodles and whip up some of my own at home along with some more bok Choy and some quail eggs. They're very responsive and the portion sizes for the prices are a great value. Homemade beef noodle soup: $6 This was my favorite of what my boyfriend and I got! The beef was so tender and the broth was super flavorful. The noodles were the perfect texture garlic pork belly fried rice: $8 My boyfriend's favorite with a generous amount of pork belly! They packed the container full of delicious fried rice which was flavorful without being greasy. I reheated and ate it the next day as well because the portion size was good for two meals! bao buns: $2 each the spicy pork bun was a standard bao bun! Super fluffy and filling was seasoned well. the real star was definitely the taro bun. I had never had a sweet bao before but the fluffy outside paired perfectly with the taro filling. I originally wanted a matcha bao but they were sold out! definitely gonna try it next time lumpia: $1 You could make out every single ingredient that was in the filling. The filling wasn't mushy AT ALL and the egg rolls were crispy without being oily or greasy. So delicious and I wish I ordered more! Overall I would definitely recommend. Delicious homemade cuisine (takeout only!) My favorites are their: Beef Noodle Soup (10/10) - Flavorful broth, the most important component, and the beef is not dry nor tough, and it all pairs so well with their homemade noodles. They top with cilantro, green onions, some bokchoy, and chili oil upon request. Chicken BBQ Skewers (10/10) - Similar to Thai Satay chicken, these skewers are jam-packed with flavor and are served as individual skewers or with jasmine rice. The chicken is always tender and juicy, which makes this so much better, because I really dislike when the texture of meat is overcooked and dry. Pork Bun (9.5/10) - These are similar to Chinese steamed baos with minced pork inside. The pork is seasoned very well and is similar to the seasonings used for minced pork in Chinese noodle dishes (likely soy-sauce based). I will say that the filling sometimes comes off as too salty, but paired with the soft bao, the two compliment each other very well. Stir-Fried Beef Rice (10/10) - This dish is well seasoned and flavorful and I love to request white mushrooms for an extra cost in addition to the wood-ear mushrooms that they add. I have also tried their Spicy Pork Rice and Chicken Adobo Rice which I found were less flavorful and more plain than the Stir-Fried Beef Rice. Those two were both good still but I would definitely bring it home and top it off with some Sriracha (or MSG) because I tend to lean toward more umami based flavors so this is just a personal preference. I also tried their Pork and Shrimp eggrolls which I did not like as much, though I do appreciate the balance of proteins and veggies that they add. I wish they sold traditional lumpia because I think a lot of people would love that. I also would love to see traditional chicken or pork belly adobo too! Overall, I order from here as much as I can and it is definitely my go-to takeout spot. I encourage everyone else to support their business and enjoy a hearty meal. TLDR - Definitely several items that make it worth supporting this local business What we tried: Shanghai style eggrolls - Basic lumpia. Thin and crispy with good flavor. Stayed crunchy even after a 30m car ride. Chicken and pork eggrolls - More like standard eggroll size as opposed to lumpia. Still crunchy and tasty. Shrimp pancit - I did not try this one personally, but heard no complaints from the family at the table. Pork belly adobo - The pork belly is crispy and placed on top of the rice so it doesn't lose its crisp. Excellent flavor along with the rice. Chicken adobo - Good flavor though it was served more like chicken adobo fried rice. I prefer whole, bone-in pieces of chicken. In this dish there were pulled bits of chicken adobo that were already mixed into the rice. Flavor was good but I want to see them chickens and do my own mixing. Chicken skewers - Three per container. Tender and cooked well with a flavorful sauce. Steamed pork buns - I didn't try these myself but mom gave them the nod, though her ongoing search for the best bbq pork siopao continues. Beef stir fry - I had assumed that this would be like lo mein, but these were broad, flat noodles. I may have gotten this confused with pictures of the shrimp stir fry on Yelp, as that appeared to use lo mein noodles. A bit dry and on the blander side. If I lived here I would be a repeat customer. OMG! Another hidden gem that I just found. Jefrox Adobo describes their food as an Asian fusion based on Filipino. The restaurant is based out of their house and is fully licensed and inspected by Riverside county for food safety. They meet me outside the gate and the man who gave me my food was really really nice. They even called me when it was ready which was about 18 mins and they told me a 15 min eta so that's perfect. Now let's get to the food. I ordered the chicken skewers($2/ea) which came with a peanut-based sauce. The sauce reminds me of a peanut sauce you'd find at a thai restaurant, it was really flavorful. The chicken was moist and flavorful on its own without the sauce. But combined both are great and will be ordering them again. I also ordered the spicy pork bun($2/ea), the dough was soft, the filling was abundant in the bun, and again had a very great taste to everything. I'm ordering these pork buns again for sure. Third I ordered the pork and shrimp Lumpia which is a Filipino eggroll($1/ea). The wrap was crunchy and not soggy like in some places. Also, I didn't find the egg roll greasy. Another thing I liked if you can make out the ingredients in the eggroll both when you open one up and by the flavor. For most eggrolls, the taste is all muddled together but I could taste the corn, the pork, and the shrimp. As you might have guessed, definitely going to be ordering these again. Lastly, I ordered the beef noodle soup($6), which came loaded with beef. Not just a few bits but enough to last the entire bowl. The noodles on the bottom were soft and just lovely. After I ate the noodles and eat I had to drink the broth. So much flavor all over this dish. There were some fatty parts of meat in the soup, I don't mind that at all, I like fat and it adds flavor. Just wanted to let you know as I know some people don't like that. But really I only counted a few pieces of meat that were fatter. It will come as a shocker but I'm going to order this soup again as well. What can I say except if you like these types of food you should without a doubt check out Jefrox Adobo. Not only is the food great but the price cannot be beaten. I ordered 2 chicken skewers, 2 pork buns, 4 pieces of lumpia, and the beef soup and the total came out to just under $20. That's enough food for 2 people easily and is less money than 2 combo meals at Mcdonald's. I ordered from this place my first time yesterday and I'm really considering getting it again today. I love how quick the owner responded to the text. Order only took 20 mins and is very fairly priced. The lady that handed me my food outside the condo complex was very sweet. The presentation was great, as you can see everything looks great and felt like I got my food from an actual restaurant. I give 4.5 vs 5 stars because some of the taste is just not my style. But that doesn't mean it isn't good! I think, being Filipino myself, we are always comparing Filipino food to our grandparents or parents! So it's not fair because depending on where you're from you could cook it different! But this food was still good.
