Took almost 1 hour of our precious time waiting in line and the order to be delivered. The donut tasted like bagel... slightly hard and cold for a donut. The Salmon donut ($10) was topped with salmon minced and mixed with mayonnaise and garnished with green onion. Too simple to be considered "special". The Russian dumpling ($15) was good, but was under-steamed so it got hard and dry quickly. The team looks a bit happy with what they do, but clearly not prepared handling the sudden flock of tourists in the early morning. The guy in the kitchen was slow, another staff was late, and another staff was just preparing the donut dough to be cooked. They even forgot half of my order and had to be reminded twice... thus the total 1 hr wait. Sadly, for me and my family, it did not live up to the hype and it was not worth the price. Perhaps our expectations were too high after having the Salvation Army's mini doughnuts at Icy Point. On the other hand, the joint is new and it might do well overtime (esp. with the donut dough). Fabulous Raised Donuts. Nothing is better than a really good donut. Brianna, the owner of this just opened shop, has managed to craft one of the tastiest raised donuts I've ever eaten. And I've eaten a lot of donuts! The taste of a just made donut reminds me of Italian zeppoli, with that perfect flavor, just the right amount of everything. The dough is made fresh every day. When it's finished, it's finished. The toppings (icing) are also made from fresh, natural ingredients. You can taste the wholesomeness and freshness in every bite. While Ketchican, Alaska may not be on the well traveled road, if you truly know donuts, this is a must stop. I'm already mourning my departure next month. read more

Not gluten-friendly, and I warn anyone who orders something gluten-intolerant from their menu to be very wary if not just stay away. Ordered a gluten-free box of donuts about a year ago, but found out after overhearing the employees talking in the back that they had fried the donuts in the same oil they used to make their non-gluten-free donuts. Basically, that means flour completely saturates the dough. If I hadn't overheard and made a complaint, they would have just served me something that would've made me VERY sick. Their excuse was that they "didn't know I was 'actually' celiac" even though I was very careful to make it a gluten-intolerant order, which they acknowledged but said they "didn't think it was that serious" and "didn't know that gluten-intolerant food needed to be cooked completely gluten-free." It's fine if you don't serve gluten-free goods, but do not put it on your menu if you're not completely aware of what that entails. I worry for anyone else that has ordered gluten-free from this place. What's worse, I had to pay a hefty amount anyway and, even though I was promised a replacement, I never received it. read more

I wanted to like this place but had a disappointing experience. The rude customer service I received when I asked for a single empty box was unnecessary. Please advise customers to pay $1 for a clean box instead of handing them a free dirty one they will eat out of. It was also excessive to comment that it is "asking for too much." At this point spending $48 on 6 donuts, a drink and tolerating her rude comment was already a stretch. I won't be back as I left feeling undervalued as a customer nor will I recommend them to others as I wouldn't consider it a must visit when you're in town. While this tiny shop is a "hole-in-the-wall" and definitely has a monopoly on the donut business in Ketchikan, it's a regular stop on our visits here. The brioche-based dough is best eaten warm, the day of, and the toppings are unique and fun. While I don't love these donuts as much the next day, we enjoy them, and everyone can find a flavor they want to try. My favorite is the coconut, but they switch up the toppings, so there's always new ones to check out. If you're here, it's worth a stop for some fresh donuts to eat with your morning coffee. read more

I have to give this place 5 stars. It's not fancy and there is no inside seating but these are so worth the time and price. They make these throughout the day in small batches. They are very well cooked in the proper temp oil. You can tell because there are perfectly golden brown and not greasy at all. They are fluffy and not too sweet so the sweetness comes from whatever you top them with. We opted for a vanilla glaze but they had many options you could choose from and they'll top it right when you order. They're huge also so if you want to share, they're big enough (though I imagine you'll regret not having your own). We both enjoyed these immensely and it really topped our already enjoyable day here in Ketchikan. read more

I ordered 2 orders of Russian dumplings from here several weeks ago. They were okay but kind of expensive for what you get. The girl used her bare hands to put the ingredients on the dumplings instead of plastic gloves. I also had to remind her of the included fry bread. Kind of strange that they served fry bread with Russian dumplings though. read more
