Stopped in while visiting town after hearing how great the ice cream is and seeing the unique flavors. I sampled the tahini oat and while I loved the texture I wasn't the biggest fan of the flavor. I ordered the 4 half scoops with brambleberry crisp, lemon blueberry, gooey butter cake, and almond brittle. The lemon blueberry was more like a sorbet texture and was super refreshing and palette cleansing between the sweeter denser flavors. The almond brittle was an amazing texture and yummy. The brambleberry crisp and gooey butter cake were the absolute show stoppers and I wish I could have safely gotten gallons of each brought back to va with me. Lemon & Blueberry ice cream is creamy, sweet, tangy and delicious. Lemon Bar, dairy free ice cream, is tangy, but not creamy. It was short (ironically) on the shortbread cookie crust, which would help the texture. Seems like something is amiss. Not bad, bit not great. The hubs LOVED everything bagel ice cream (i didn't even get a picture!) which was a monthly special. Good mix of traditional flavors and unique fun ice creams. My boyfriend and I are visiting Columbus for a couple days so we had to get some Jeni's in. This Jeni's location is open til late so it's a great spot for a late night dessert! When we went, we were welcomed by friendly workers and got to sample some flavors. We ended up getting Wedding cake & Honey vanilla bean in a cup and it came with waffle cone pieces which were amazing! The flavors were not too sweet, but light and yummy. This review is to express my profound disappointment at the staffing of Jeni's at The Columbus Commons location on Saturday, June 22nd. This night was the sold-out Picnic with the Pops concert featuring the Violent Femmes. As I stood in line for over an hour, I couldn't fathom what was taking so long!! As I approached the counter, I realized that there was only ONE employee working to take orders, process payments, AND scoop the ice cream. What kind of manager would allow this to happen??? The employee still seemed friendly throughout it all but her stress level must have been through the roof!! Shame on Jeni's management to put a young worker through this terrible ordeal :( read more

BEST ICE CREAM I HAVE HAD IN YEARS, sample shamelessly and order to your heart's content! I honestly cannot remember an ice cream joint I like more than Jeni's. Please see past my caps and predisposition to hyperbole. This place is really that good. The texture of the ice cream tickles you inside and the aromas make you weak in the knees. Between the 2 of us, my girlfriend and I sampled nearly a dozen flavors and ended up getting 5 of them. Pretty much EVERYTHING was amazing, to the point that I got 3 scoops being lactose intolerant just shortly before a 2.5 hour drive home to Indy & would do it all over again. The worst part of your experience is how nice the servers are, because they will hook you up with all the samples you want & also using metal sample spoons. This only sucks because everything is so darned good that you want to order EVERYTHING but must settle for the sampler 3 pack to be a normal human being. read more

I would say that Jeni ice cream has best ice cream I ever had. It beats Amy Ice Cream in Austin and Blue Bell (but not blue bell vanilla flavor). I mean you can do no wrong with any ice cream flavor here. Its location is right smack in the central of Hyde street area. The only thing that can be slightly improved is the service. Delicious ice cream! So many fun flavors!! I wish we would have been able to sample some of them before choosing because they all looked really good! We shared the ooey gooey butter cake and darker chocolate. Both were divine. The only reason I give it four stars is because the portion is tiny for the cost. I love this place! Just the location of this franchise is wonderful! It has a ton of eateries in its vicinity so you can pop in for dessert! Even though they no longer give out samples and the indoor dining area is closed you still get that authentic Jeni's experience. The summer flavors are wonderful, and a few of them are even dairy free! For those who eat dairy I highly recommend Golden Nectar, and for those who don't Lemon Bar is really good! My go-to flavors from the year round menu are Salty Caramel and Gooey Butter Cake. And if you are able, absolutely get the waffle cone! The staff are so friendly and fast! I'm astonished by how quickly they can complete your order! Even if your in a pinch you can get Jeni's SPLENDED ice cream. Don't be put off by a long line because it goes by fast, but regardless of the length it's always worth the wait. read more

Located at the end (or is it the beginning) of Columbus Commons. This little place has a limited selection. Not sure if the actual store has more or not. They let you try flavors on these tiny stirring spoons. The flavors change seasonally I believe. They were out of the honey vanilla which I wanted. I got the standard with two flavors: frose sorbet and brambleberry crisp in a cup. If you order in a cup, it comes with a waffle crisp on the side if you want it. And of course I want it!! The sorbet had just enough sweetness that didn't overpower the palate. The brambleberry was just as good with creamy goodness!! I want more!!! Waffle crisp didn't have any artificial sugar taste. I totally want to go to another store to see if they have the same flavors or different ones!! Highly recommend if you want to try unique flavored ice creams! read more

Got the yazoo sue with rosemary and goat cheese with red cherries. Goat cheese and cherry is my all time favorite ice cream. It's deliciously creamy and has the perfect level of sweetness. Sampled a few other flavors which all tasted great. Went with the seasonal flavor, yazoo sue, which had me wishing it was available all year. There are so many flavors that combine perfectly together, it's mind blowing my good. All of Jeni's flavors have a unique twist and are crazy delicious. They have super unique flavors of ice cream to try that you don't get at other ice cream shops! Some are delicious and some are maybe more of an acquired taste so I'd definitely taste test a lot of flavors if you stop by. Stopped here while in Columbus for a business meeting, and was wowed. Some ice cream parlors overwhelm with the quantity of different flavors, some of which I wouldn't try on a bet. Jeni's blew me away with the quality of their flavors. Some were very unusual, but in a good way. Tried the caramel butternut crunch, which I was told could be paired - at no extra cost - with a second flavor. So, tried the cream(?) - a kind of creamy vanilla. It worked. My favorite being Queen City Cayenne (an amazing mixture of cool creaminess and a little heat) and Wildberry Lavender is so light and flavorful.
