I have been going to Whit's since it came to Cbus a few years ago!! I love it here & it is healthier than top competitors! That makes me feel a bit better at least lol. The parking gets a bit congested/difficult here in the summers with only street parking, so get ready to walk a bit! This location is adorable with the cutest, hardest workers! Whitsers are my favorite thing to order, which is vanilla custard mixed with different toppings. I got one with butterscotch, pecans & chocolate shavings last night and it was to die for, I will be back for another & definitely add it to my top flavor list! The prices are ok! Everything is always fresh! I always have to add in a doggie sundae as well with vanilla custard, peanut butter and a chocolate dog biscuit!! I went to school in Missouri, so I got VERY accustomed to frozen custard over regular ice cream. So when I originally discovered Whit's, I knew I was in trouble. Whit's in Hilliard is a stand-alone storefront that looks like a former home. It's cute and quaint with very little seating inside and few benches outside. But it's in a perfect spot after dinner in downtown Hilliard where you can stroll up and down the sidewalks and enjoy delicious custard. And now on to the important stuff - the custard itself. If you've never had the pleasure of eating frozen custard, you are truly missing out. Frozen custard is like ice cream, except it's thicker and creamier. Whit's does scoops, sundaes, and "Whitsers" which are similar to concretes or blizzards. You can customize your own or pick any of the ones off the menu. Whit's also does special flavors throughout the month. My personal favorite is Mint Cookies and Cream. If they have extra, they put it in pints and quarts for you to take home. Whit's has several locations in the area, but the Hilliard one is always friendly, welcoming, and very clean. So if you're craving frozen yogurt, be sure to stop here! read more

Had such a fun time at Whits! It was my first time having custard and my favorite part about it was that they had dairy free custard!! The staff was so kind and made the root beer float with the dairy free custard option. Their old fashioned root beer was tasty. It was a pretty big portion and took me a while to finish. It's a small shop but has some outdoor seating and you could even walk around and enjoy as well. Great time at Whit's! read more

I've been hesitant to try because i didn't know what custard was.... needless to say it's delicious! The difference is that it's denser than ice cream (no air in the swirly machine) and has to have egg yolk to emulsify. Anyway I got the mudpie ( vanilla Oreo and caramel---- i don't know if it said mocha but I didn't get any and honestly it's ok..... i didn't need it) I got the mini size and it's definitely enough. A young girl working the counter refused to give me pints of several different flavors I asked for she pretended to walk back didn't look and said that they were out of those... which seems odd for an ice cream place for multiple flavors... then said the only flavors I could get in a pint were in the cooler/already made up.. apparently your employee didn't feel like scooping ice cream. This is a nice addition to Hilliard's little downtown. We've twice walked down for ice cream after having dinner at Local Cantina. It's very small and doesn't appear to have restrooms, but there is seating inside and the front patio. They have great selections of ice creams and toppings. Last night I had a caramel apple sundae: vanilla ice cream (custard) with apple and caramel topping. It was fantastic. The small serving cup is just the right size; it's an ample portion. I've only been here once, and overall, my experience was pretty good. My friends LOVE this place and I was pretty excited to try it out. The workers were very friendly, they had a lot of different options to choose from, and the place itself was really nice and 'aesthetically pleasing'. However, the custard was just ok (I got the dairy free vanilla). I'd definitely recommend trying it out for yourself, though. As a recovering lactose-intolerant, Whit's renewed my love for ice cream. High quality ingredients lead to the creamy custard that you'll want again and again. I love their daily and weekly flavor variety. If you're in the mood for something chocolatey, get chocolate custard with brownies and pecans, lightly blended. If you want something lighter, get the Hawaiian luau: vanilla ice cream with pineapple, bananas, coconut and macadamia nuts. I also recommend getting a mini or small as this stuff is RICH. I've lived in Hilliard for almost a year now and somehow I didn't realize there was a Whit's in the downtown area! I'm so sad that I've missed out on their custard for so long. I've been lucky enough to go to undergrad and grad school in towns that have Whit's, so I was excited to be able to frequent Whit's again, especially because it will be walking distance from my home. I'm partial to the Buckeye Madness Whitser (all of their Whitser's blow Dairy Queen out of the water, in my opinion), but recently I've been a fan of trying their flavor of the week. Recently I ordered one scoop of the Raspberry Chip and one scoop of the Peanut Butter Cookie Dough. They had their music on full volume when I went in, then 3 girls at the counter started laughing and joking about how loud the music was and turned it down to just loud...then I said I need to make a call and ask someone at home which flavor they wanted...only person in store mind you...3 people "working" and when I got on the call they turned the music back to full volume. I could not hear my call and asked them to turn it down again. They laughed and turned it down, making jokes about it. Then I tried to order, and they got 2 out of 3 ice creams wrong...mine was beyond tiny, and another one had wrong toppings we found out later, and also not mixed, lumped in bottom of cup. While I waited for ONE out of the 3 to slowly make my order while the other two dance...they turned the music to full volume again. This time I said to turn the music down! And they acted like I was insane, and gave me my wrong order and I was shaking by this time(due to my cptsd, and the fact that I am affected by very loud sounds) and they were laughing and turning the music up again as I left, but still in store. NEEEEVVVVEEERRRR going back!!!! Terrible experience, zero consideration for anyone, and the delicious ice cream was ruined by getting the order seriously wrong. I paid 17 dollars, and my icecream was less than half a scoop, but was supposed to be 2 scoops! I ended up getting more ice cream at Graeters, which is where I will continue to frequent! read more

My recommendation is to think about what you want ahead or time because there are a lot of options to choose from. I was really excited when Whit's of Hilliard changed locations to a more central and downtown location. The location is great but there is essentially no parking - they say there is a back lot but by the time employees park and you worry about getting blocked in, you opt to parallel park off Main St. Or just park at the gas station and pizza place next door which I really try not to do... This Whit's never has the number of quarts or breadth of flavors available compared to the other stores. They did start some daily flavors on the weekend when they reopened (yay!), but there are some fun concoctions that other local stores try that I never see advertised. Also, I have never seen pistachio at this location, ever. The outdoor patio and walkability is great, but the inside is a disaster. The cash register is right next to the door so the line is very confusing. to enter/exit using the front door you run into patrons waiting to order that think you are trying to cut them in line. Once you finally make it in the door you ask all 20 people where the end of the line is and if they have already ordered. Don't get me wrong, the custard is incredible and is my favorite local 'ice cream' as a Granville native, but this location is not my favorite. It is the closest so I try to go before it gets busy and buy a quart and get out. read more

When you have so many soccer players across the street that the soccer parking has to rollover into the field next to it, you have a pretty captive audience. How about planning ahead with a few more gallons of custard to be scooped? It may help speed up product delivery. The location was very clean and tidy and the employees were very friendly and patient with our group. We all had the buckeye frozen custard, the flavor of the week. Wouldn't return. Place was packed, which is great for business. Took a bit to get our order but it was good. However the girl with the Skelton clips in her hair (curly dark hair) was not nice. I heard her say "ugh only one more hour" loud enough for customers to hear while scooping ice cream. She had a terrible attitude that needs addressed, others noticed it too.
