Expensive but good ice cream with a side of meh customer service. Street parking only. My friend got a single scoop and we both had the same amount of ice cream but I ordered a double, so the portion size wasn't accurate or great. The workers weren't rude but they weren't nice either. I'm not someone that's overly nit picky about that kind of thing since I work in retail, but as soon as my friends and I walked out the door we all looked at each other and agreed it was a bad vibe in there. We went because they had a few dairy free ice creams to choose from and someone in the party doesn't eat dairy. I rather buy a pint from Whole Foods or Target. YUM. Absolutely delicious. I had never had Jeni's before this trip to LA and one of the people I was traveling with spotted the shop and said we should stop. I tasted several flavors and had a really hard time picking. They really nail all of the flavors they do. I went two nights in a row because I really wanted more and they even had three new flavors the next night! The first night I ordered a standard scoop of summer berries & passionfruit and sweet cream biscuits & peach jam. The ice cream is nice and soft, the flavors are explosive in the best way, and the bowl even comes with a little waffle cone slice (which is excellent by the way)! The next night I had burnt orange dreamsicle & strawberry pretzel pie. The pretzel streusel in there was just perfect. I don't know of a Jeni's close to my home, but I'm now on a mission to find one, or at least find a place to buy the pints. Came here to try the new earl grey creme brûlée and wildberry lavender flavors. Samples are unlimited so that is fun. I really like the note of orange peel in the wildberry lavender. However, I did not find it to be floral enough for me. The earl Grey crème brûlée was nice, but I was slightly disappointed. Maybe I built it up in my mind because I love both those flavors so much. It reminded me of their honeycomb ice cream so nothing unique. We got the 4 half scoop study and it was a good deal compared to the 2. The waffle is a nice touch. Good service, the Ice Cream slinger was very patient with us as we tried all the flavors we wanted. The space is pretty small and the line was out the door. A few people were eating inside but it's more of a take out place for sure. The flautas place outside smelled amazing. read more

Amazing ice cream! Been to Jeni's a few times already - first time at this location though. Parking was rough, had to park in the residential neighborhood nearby ... and it's pretty dark at night. Tasted several different ice creams but ended up with mint chip. Nice and easy - threw some chocolate syrup on it. Love how there's nice chunks of the chips and the mint isn't obnoxiously mint-y. This was a cool neighborhood ice cream spot on Hillhurst in Los Feliz! We had dinner down the street and my friend said we should walk over and get ice cream. We walked down the block and got to Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams. This place has lots of flavors as you can see from the menu and seems like a good spot to drop into when you've got a sweet tooth, after a good dinner or just when you're in the mood. They have very reasonable prices and the staff scoops your ice cream right in front of you. There's also like 30 flavors to choose from and the ice cream tastes sooooooo good! You won't be disappointed. I'd never been to this place and haven't been to this area for quite some time. There's street parking if you can find it as well as parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. They also sell drinks and have a small counter you can stand and eat at. It might get crowded during the peak times and there are several benches outside you can eat and people watch on, but I don't think they seat more than 10-15 people. Their dark chocolate seems to be an excellent go-to for a chocolate fix, and recent flavorful blends and swirls have also become a favorite. My husband and I made a quick stop here after watching a movie. This location is in a very cute part of town. There are a lot of other retail shops and restaurants near, and there's ample street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. The servers helping us with our ice cream were so patient. My husband and I both sampled 3-4 flavors each. They were very knowledgeable about all the flavors and really took their time with us. They did a great job balancing our order while still attending to the others who kept arriving. I ordered the gooey butter cake and goat cheese with red cherries. Both flavors were delicious. Magpies Soft Serve was closed, but that led us to Jeni's which was still open super late! This was our post Greek Theater Concert treat stop! I'm vegan and got the Lemon Bar (YUM), and the rest in my group (not vegan) were very happy with their waffle cone bowls and variety of seasonal and classic flavors. Lemon Bar & a Chocolate Cake were the only two vegan flavors available, but since I can't have chocolate that late at night, Lemon Bar was my choice. They do offer a "kids scoop" for those only wanting one scoop. When paying for the ice cream, I notified another vegan flavor in the pint freezer. They had one open for samples and they gave me a bite to try. Great flavors, easy parking (after 11pm lol), and open late! These used to be my favorite ice cream sandwiches, but something has definitely changed. The original Key Lime Pie Ice Cream Sandwiches had a rich, creamy ice cream texture that made them stand out. Recently, the filling tastes more like a water-based sorbet than ice cream, and the difference is immediately noticeable. It's very disappointing because the quality, taste, texture, and overall experience have all changed, yet the price remains the same. It feels like cheaper ingredients are being used while customers are expected not to notice. Trust me--we do. I really wish Jeni's would bring back the original recipe. I appreciate you so much for training your employees to be so knowledgeable about your products. I came here with my family and one of us has a tree nut allergy. We were very careful as to what we sampled but also as to what we ordered. It is nice to be able to enjoy samples when you go to a small batch of ice cream place like this. This is my daughter's favorite "fancy "ice cream shop. It is always a real treat when we are able to come here. They have really great holiday and seasonal flavors. Parking can be difficult as it is only street parking. Be sure you feed your meter. There's a nice bench along the side of the building where you can go and enjoy your sweet treat with your sweetheart. read more

The service is good, and quick. My only gripe about this otherwise excellent location is a lack of seating. While there are a few benches inside and some nooks aside the windowsill outside, you will find most ice-cream enjoyers walking down the sidewalk. I was first introduce to Jeni's ice cream by my sis and fellow yelper, Nadia Q a few years ago. The shop inside is super cutesy and inviting. The staff is super nice and they let you try as many flavors as you want. They have two refrigated cases with about 6 to 8 flavors each. They also have, merch and pints of their flavors to go. Some of my favorite flavors are the lemon bar, buttercream birthday cake, coffee cream and sugar, and the milkiest chocolate. They have a limited holiday flavors that are delightful as well, seven layer bar and boozy egg nog are a must try. I love how they serve the scoops in a cup with a piece of their crispy waffle cone. Finally tried it... My lady & I went on a Friday evening... There was hardly a line in front of us but the line grew as we were paying for our scoops and pints. Jeni's Splendid has a good sized space on a corner along the Hillhurst corridor. There are some bench and individual seats along the right side as you walk in. They have merch, water for customers & a ot of ice cream flavors to choose from. All of which sounded great as you went through the descriptions. I really enjoyed the Brown Butter Almond Brittle in a waffle cone and it was delicious. Brown butter almond candy crushed and mixed in their signature buttercream ice cream. It was rich and it was very good. My lady got a trio of Brambleberry Crisp (2 scoops) & Pistachio Macaron. She liked her choices a lot as well... We also bought a pint of Jeni's Milkiest Chocolate ice cream. It was so good... There's a little bit of maltiness to it that I really liked. I will grab another pint when we go back for sure. The employees were very nice and patient with us first timers. We appreciated that. I also like how they are open til 11pm on weeknights and 12am on weekends... for that late night ice cream craving. I had the Goose Tracks today made with berries and also has tiny pieces of chocolate which was a nice addition to the berry flavors.
