Taking a spot in Melrose, adding one more line to the long list of cafés to visit around the area. There were few seats on the spot, but I felt like it's more for grab and go. They offered sandwiches, Cookies, some more sweets and options of drinks. I first knew the place from looking at someone posting it on Instagram talking about their cookies. Being a cookie addict, I obviously went and gave it a try. Unfortunately, they're out of the pistachio cookie so I ended up with the salted caramel Biscoff cheesecake cookie. It was a pretty huge one and served warm with melted salted caramel on top. The cookie was tad too cakey for me who preferred the gooey one, but I liked the creative idea having the combo of cookie and cheesecake. I got their salted caramel latte and I liked the housemade salted caramel syrup, also the price was reasonable for the size. Would recommend go for less sweet for best taste. read more

I was looking for a coffee and a dessert before heading into an entertainment industry event in Hollywood. Kar Sweet popped up in my search of the area and, seeing the photos, it felt like one of those spots you check out as much for the aesthetic as anything else. I decided to stop by and see how it all comes together in person. The outdoor seating area is really the highlight--but also pretty much the only option. Seating is limited, with just a small patio space, though it's thoughtfully designed with greenery, hanging lights, and a relaxed feel that makes it easy to sit and stay awhile. It gives the place some personality beyond just being another coffee stop. Inside is clean and modern, and the pastry display does a good job of pulling you in. The menu is solid--coffee, smoothies, and focaccia sandwiches that looked like they might be the better move here. I went with the blueberry cheesecake. Presentation-wise, it looked great with the powdered sugar finish, but overall it was just decent. Good flavor and texture, but it didn't quite taste as fresh as I was expecting. One of those items that looks better than it delivers. Service was smooth and the space overall is welcoming. Karr Sweet feels like a place that leans more on atmosphere and presentation than standout pastries--at least based on what I tried. Still worth a visit for the setting, but next time I'd probably go a different route on the menu. read more

Simple Menu. Service is what you expect it to be because it is in a small location and only 1 person is working. Ambience is a 5/5, small space but really cute vibe. We were looking for a spot to hang out and grab some baked goodies and found Kar Sweet! We ordered the matcha peach cheesecake cookie and it was absolutely amazing. 100x better than Crumbl. You can taste the creaminess from the cheesecake in addition to the matcha flavor. The peach flavor was a bit light but was a great addition to the cookie. They make specialty cookies so well and it's honestly such a hidden gem. Service was excellent. The cashier was informative and friendly. We received our order as soon as we paid. Kar is a small cafe and has some seating inside, but more seating on the outside. I would definitely say this is a great spot to catch up with friends or just to grab pastries. I have been wanting to try this place whenever I by passed when I visited my friend. I have finally pay a visit this time and this is such a great spot if you want good pastry and good coffee. I was surprised the quality of pastry, it looks very beautiful, I ordered the pistachio cookies and Americano, there is the pistachio paste on top and more, a whole pistachio layer filled evenly inside. The owner made all pastry by himself, and they looksand tastes like a piece of art. Their coffee is top-notch too! I love the fragrant of their coffee been, very light by prolong fragrent. Stopped by after hearing a few people mention their cookies. It's a small, clean spot with a pretty big selection for how simple the setup is. We tried a handful of items: the Salted Caramel Latte, Monkey Business, Pistachio Crush, Golden Rush, and the Triple B cookie. The latte was actually really good -- smooth, not overly sweet. Out of the cookies, the Pistachio Crush and the Triple B (kind of a blueberry cheesecake vibe) were the standouts for me. The others were solid, just more on the sweeter side than what I usually go for. Service was friendly, and everything tasted fresh. If you're into desserts and want a quick treat or a coffee break, it's a nice little stop. I'd come back to try more of their rotating flavors, especially if they keep dropping ones like the pistachio and blueberry cheesecake. read more

I have been going to Kar Sweet for several months now, and at this point, I might as well be the founding customer. Maybe I am exaggerating, but I have definitely been there a lot. My go-to order is the Triple Chocolate with extra espresso--it never fails to get me through the day. Yes, triple chocolate. I am a chocolate lover, and when you add coffee, it is the perfect combination. Their desserts are always a delight, especially anything with chocolate. Kar is always creating new treats with different flavors, and I love trying them, especially--yes, you guessed it--chocolate. If you are tired of me mentioning chocolate, that just proves how much you need to check this place out. Even though Kar Sweet is still new, I see a bright future ahead. They are always improving, so if you do not love it at first, you might just miss out on something amazing later. The quality is fantastic, and the customer service is top-notch. The coffee is so good I've tried the iced bon bon latte, iced salted caramel latte, and the iced triple chocolate. All of them were on the sweet side but I could still taste the espresso. The pastries are so good so tasty. The owner is also really helpful when it comes to recommending new drinks. Although it's on the corner of a really busy street the interior/vibes of the shop are incredibly cozy. read more

It had slices of banana hidden between chocolate cream and the texture was reminiscent of deli/patisseries I've tried in elegant street side shops of Paris and even some parts of Spain. i was born & raised here in east hollywood and i absolutely LOVE Kar Sweet. as you know our neighborhood is getting gentrified but Kar Sweet is not that kind of vibe at all!! you can tell the owner Karo is so humbled and really cares about his customers. he feels like a friend every time i visit his coffee shop! not only do i feel welcome but the coffee here is amazing!!! literally my favorite coffee in LA. i like that they make their coffee flavors from scratch. they don't use any syrups, they use vanilla paste, pistachios paste, lavender paste. it's so gooooood. they also have the best pastries and desserts! Had such a wonderful time at Kar Sweet! Check it out if you're in the neighborhood. The rose special coffee I got was amazing and a good value for the serving size! All the made-in-house pastries with pistachio and halva from what I remember looked amazing. Got to talk to the owner and a couple that was having coffee about how great of a space it was. Must try! Everything looked delicious it was so hard to not choose everything. Their Nutella toast with berries was amazing, strawberries were fresh and sweet, toasted to perfection. Their snickers dessert is spot on, layers of deliciousness in a cup. The slice of a passion fruit cake was so good.
