Everyone who works here looks like they hates life... but the ice cream is very good, so it kind of balances out. The lighting is so dim that the place constantly looks closed. Like you'll walk by, hesitate, second guess yourself, maybe even keep going, and then realize nope -- it's actually open. So yeah, if it looks closed, it probably isn't. Once you get past that weird first impression, it does exactly what you want it to do. Good ice cream, good textures, and one of those spots where whatever you order is probably going to make you happy anyway. So don't let the gloomy lighting or dead-inside staff energy scare you off. My partner and I stopped in for a quick treat. Service here was quick, and the worker let us try a few different flavors which was nice. My partner and I both have had afters a few times, but it's been a while, so it was nice to try some things again I got two scoops: one of Saigon coffee and the other of ube brownie. The Saigon coffee is very coffee forward, and is probably my favorite coffee flavored ice cream. The ube brownie is sweet and creamy. My partner also got two scoops, one of his was the milk and cereal flavor which comes with a topping of dried cereal of your choice. read more

After catching up with a friend over lunch, we decided to treat ourselves to some ice cream and found this spot just a short walk from the restaurant we had eaten at. As soon as we got there, the matcha ice cream immediately caught my eye. I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't overly sweet, which I really appreciated. I stopped in here after a musical at the Pantages. It is very sparse in every way. There were not a lot of flavor options. The most disappointing was they don't have hot fudge!!! Absolutely incredible ice cream! So many flavors, and there's vegan options for my vegan friends. You get the sample the flavors before you have them, which is great. A lot of delicious toppings. Also a good portion size per scoop of ice cream. Very good desert to get after a dinner or a lunch. The employees always know the best combinations of flavors and toppings, so I'd ask them what they recommend too if you're looking for something special! Their employee, Kimberly, is an all star. Genuinely so kind, informative, and helpful. She adds so much to the store and I know I'm in good hands when she's helping me pick my flavors. I also love when this ice cream store does collaborations and limited edition flavors, so look out for those, they're very neat! Their last one for Avatar The Last Airbender was wonderful. My grandson loves, just loves, Afters Ice Cream. They have all the odd flavors he loves and a large selection of toppings. It is right down the street from the Pantages Theater so a great place to go before a show or after. It is always clean and the line moves fast. What I love is the service. The server is always so nice, we have met him before. He is kind and patient with my speech delayed grandson. He is just super cool. Parking is a bear, but there is a public lot nearby or you can try to find a place on the street. Personally. they no longer have even one flavor I want. I tried the brownie chocolate and tossed it. I don't think Afters is quite what it used to be. Stopped by the other night and ordered a double scoop cup with Madagascar Vanilla and Dark Matter Brownie for $8. They give great portion sizes which is nice, and the ice cream is super creamy and soft. The flavors and mix ins however are where it's lacking. I remember the Dark Matter Brownie being full of brownie batter chunks and having a really strong chocolate flavor. Now? It's just slightly chocolatey and I had maybe two bites of brownie. The vanilla was also very mild. Hardly a "vanilla" flavor let alone Madagascar specific, and it seemed more like a milk flavored ice cream. read more

We stopped by here after visiting Funko, and the wide variety of flavors immediately caught our eye! We tried several, and all of them were delicious. We ultimately went with the mango sorbet, On Cloud, Dark Matter Brownie Batter, and (I think) Cookie Monster. Every flavor was great! I was excited to try the Dubai Chocolate flavor, but unfortunately, it was sold out that day--maybe next time! The mango sorbet, in particular, was incredibly fresh--it tasted just like biting into a real mango! The one downside is that it's a bit on the pricey side, especially if you're going with a larger family, so that's something to keep in mind. Also, there's limited seating inside, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot. Overall, though, we enjoyed all the flavors we had and would definitely return! read more
