Jeni's lived up to the hype for sure. The gooey butter cake flavor is probably the best I have ever had and it's gluten free. I also got the goat cheese and cherry flavor. So good! Everyone loved their ice cream despite the steep price tag! I took a star off because I ordered a kids size and instead of letting me know it only comes with one scoop, giving me two and charging me for the standard price of $8.50. And it's $11 to take a pint home. I also asked if something was gluten free and they just told me to read the sign rather than point out the ones that were. Just open communication and good service would go a long way.
As any San Diegan knows, sunny days call for ice cream, especially when a humid heat wave has you melting all day. North Park has been collecting some of the best new restaurants, making it the place to be. On a night out walking around, I couldn't pass up Jeni's. From the moment the cold air and delicious ice cream aromas hit you when the door opens, you know you're in trouble and want it all. After sampling a little of everything, I decided on the special of the month. The staff were all so patient, letting melting souls make their way through the store only to leave with mountains of ice cream in a cup or waffle cone. If you're melting, it would be worth making a pit stop to cool off and enjoy Jeni's ice cream.
This was some really good ice cream. That gooey butter cake & strawberry pretzel combo was The line moved a bit slow, and the staff was moderately friendly. It was cute on the inside, not a ton of space though.
Finally showed up when they have the dairy free banana pudding ice cream for scoops. Usually when I go they only had it in the already made pint to go. I didn't want to buy the pint without trying the flavor first. I ordered a children's scoop and that was enough for my liking. Small, but not to where I didn't fulfill my craving. There was a light banana flavor, but not as much as I would have liked. I love bananas so I wish it had more of the banana flavor. I appreciate Jenni's ice cream having more flavorful dairy free options as most ice cream shops do a shorbet or chocolate flavor. I appreciate the variety offered as I am always looking to try something different. Definitely coming back to try their other dairy free (future) flavors. I did sample the peppermint patty and that was yummy as well.
Needed something cold because San Diego was HOTTT Got the Double Dough and Biscuits with the Boss and both were sooo good. Double Dough was definitely my fave because you can never go wrong with cookie dough lol. Biscuits with the Boss had that buttery sweet & salty vibe that I loved too. Added the waffle pieces for a lil cronchhh Cute clean spot, friendly staff, and sooo many flavors I wanted to try. Definitely coming back because one visit was not enough. 10/10 would scoop again.
Love to get the ice cream flights! Everything I've tried so far has been amazing. The staff are very patient and kind. Great spot for a late night treat.
Black Tie Tiramisu Really complex flavor your with the the mucus wall and the lady fingers in the actual ice cream. It had a lot going on but quite a lovely ice cream. Salted Peanut Butter With Chocolate Flecks I knew I wanted to try this flavor the moment I read it because I'm a major peanut butter and chocolate chip kinda person and this one was delicious! Proper peanut butter flavor coming through really well and that right amount of chocolate chips. Definitely would recommend if you love PB!
First time coming here and the place was super cute inside! Definitely felt like you stepped inside an ice cream shop. It was so cute and pretty inside! I also really how when you walked in you could smell the ice cream and the waffle cones. The service was fantastic! Extremely helpful. They answer all of your questions and needs. If you have any dietary restrictions they have options for you. They let you try samples and they give you a generous amount. Some of the flavors are sweeter than others. Some ice creams are sweeter than others but really tasty and delicious! If you get an ice cream in a cup especially a small you can do two different flavors and it comes with a piece of waffle cone. It comes out to roughly eight dollars which is pricey. Parking can be tricky but sometimes depending on the day you can get lucky and won't have to keep circling and looking for parking.
Service was friendly and the employees were really nice with explaining the different ice cream flavors while sampling. I got the standard size (2 half scoops) in a waffle cone and portions were quite generous. I went with the gooey butter cake and green mint chip. Their flavors are delicious and it was honestly difficult to narrow down to 2 scoops. I would 1000% come back in the future. Not much seating inside, more of a grab-and-go.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Bridgerton recently had a new season come out. I don't know anything about that show. What I do know is that I love Earl Grey and creme brulee flavors. So when I saw that Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream released an Earl Grey Creme Brulee flavor, I made the 20 minute drive to try it. Parking in North Park was exactly what you'd expect. I circled the block about five times before finding a spot and then walked about five minutes to the shop. Not their fault, but be prepared to spend some time looking for parking. When I walked up, there was a sign outside advertising the Earl Grey Creme Brulee flavor and I got excited. I've had Jeni's ice cream from grocery store pints before and it's always been good, so I was looking forward to trying one of their limited flavors. Inside there were a few people enjoying their ice cream. At the front there's a big freezer full of pints. Jeni's has a lot of flavors and the packaging is colorful, but it can feel a little overwhelming trying to scan everything. After looking for a bit I realized I couldn't find the Earl Grey Creme Brulee anywhere. I looked up and noticed about five or six employees behind the counter watching me decide. It felt a little awkward trying to choose while several people were staring. I asked if they had the Earl Grey Creme Brulee and they told me they were out of it. That was the whole reason I came in, so that was definitely disappointing. Since I was already there I decided to try another flavor. I recently had a cheesecake-style ice cream somewhere else that I loved, so I chose the Gooey Butter Cake flavor. One employee stepped in and mentioned we could get samples if we wanted. They also give you the sample on a small waffle cone piece, which I thought was really cute. My husband didn't see a flavor he wanted, so we decided to share a standard size which is basically two half scoops. With tip it came out to about $9.20. The Gooey Butter Cake flavor is a cream cheese ice cream with vanilla cake crumbles and a caramel butterscotch swirl. It sounded amazing and I thought the cream cheese base would balance the sweetness. Unfortunately it was way too sweet. It tasted good at first but quickly became overwhelming. It was very rich and sugary and my teeth started hurting from the sweetness. We ended up throwing most of it away because it just wasn't enjoyable to finish. Also the portion was just sad too for the price. When we walked back past the shop after dinner, the sign outside had already changed to a different promotion. The Earl Grey Creme Brulee sign that brought me in was gone. I'd still give Jeni's another try because I know their ice cream can be great, but this visit just didn't live up to the hype I had in my head.

The place inside is so cute! I love all the colors and the floor with black and white. Even if the line is long the employees move quick!
Probably the best ice cream I've had in San Diego. Nice half scoop portions & honestly the perfect size. Light & creamy yet rich and flavorful. I totally regret not bringing home a pint of the gooey butter cake. Pints are reasonably priced at $12. What caught my eye to even visit here was the brown butter almond toffee flavor. I am a brown butter connoisseur when it comes to baking and this was so on point. Got this last night and I am still dreaming about it :) friendly service as well, make sure to sample!
Jeni's absolutely lives up to the hype. This was hands down some of the best ice cream I've ever had. The flavors are incredibly unique, and every one we tried was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. You can really tell they put a lot of thought into the combinations. The staff was fantastic too. They were friendly, patient, and encouraged us to sample as many flavors as we needed before deciding. Even though there was a line, they kept things moving efficiently without making anyone feel rushed. If you're looking for ice cream that's way beyond the typical chocolate and vanilla, this is the place. Amazing flavors, great service, and an overall awesome experience. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth. read more

the aroma of the icecream shop makes my heart smile, im lactose intolerant and they typically have at least 3 dairy free flavors on rotation (my only qualm is when there are only 2 fruity vegan flavors + chocolate bc my preference is vanilla based vegan icecream) they also sell more flavors as pints, in a great location in north park read more
OMG! We have had Jenny splendid ice cream in Washington DC and did not know that we had a location here in San Diego. Apparently they recently opened and we were super lucky to be able to enjoy it on Father's Day weekend. We got in line and waited about six minutes to be served because everybody wants this ice cream. The shop is super sweet and cute. Just like all the other Jenny splendid ice cream locations. What I really liked is that they're right next to the North Park Theatre and so there were a lot of theater show attendees coming to get ice cream before the show. We all ordered either one or two scoops of the delicious ice cream here. Also their waffle cones are amazing. You can get pre-packed pints as as well as as you can choose to have a pint packed for you with different ice cream flavors. The ice cream is creamy, tasty, and overall delicious! The staff is super customer service oriented, and we enjoyed talking with them and just getting the good vibes. I am going to be a frequent customer here at the SD location now. Thanks! read more

Such a cute little ice cream parlor in such a cute little college town. Great overall experience and they have a big variety of options. Apparently they did collaborations with Tyler, the Creator in the past! 10/10 I would recommend and go again any time I'm in San Diego again. read more
Jeni's Ice Cream San Diego North Park @jenisicecreams My friend from Atlanta introduced me to Jeni's when she was so excited to see it at Whole Foods. Then the next time I had it was in Chicago back in 2022 because there was none in SoCal at the time. I saw one in Scottsdale back in April, but I was so full that I didn't get one. Finally, I got a chance to have it once again in SD. The employees are very patient on letting us try various players which was very helpful because the people that were with me is trying Jeni's ice cream. There was a special all black ice cream at the time which tasted well but I am not used to non-colorful food, which says about how color plays a lot on food. Despite trying many flavors, we ended up all liking Double Dough. We ended up getting a scoop and a pint. We killed all that same night. One thing I recommend is buying a pint over a scoop. Why? $12 a pint versus almost $6 per scoop. There is no seating inside, except a bench outside. read more

Jeni's has been a great addition to the neighborhood in north park. You always need an ice cream shop and Jeni's flavors are fun and creative! I am personally always looking for different flavors and tried their goat cheese which is seasonal and loved it! Typically their gooey butter cake is my favorite but my cousins loved their chocolate and birthday cake classics. Plus the added waffle cone crisp adds a great touch. read more
Summer time = ice cream time, and Jeni's just might be my fave shop with its premium ingredients, imaginative flavor combinations, whimsical decor, and super sweet (pun intended ;) staff that patiently lets you taste sample after sample guilt-free - new flavors are always coming out so they totally understand you really have to! :D On my latest visit, I went with Signature size (3 "half" scoops), and chose classic Brambleberry Crisp (oven-toasted oat streusel and a sweet-tart brambleberry jam layered throughout vanilla ice cream), vegan-friendly Lemon Bar (punchy lemon curd, shortbread crust, and rich coconut cream), and Strawberry Pretzel Pie (layers of salty pretzel gravel, subtly sweet and effortlessly sweet-tart cream cheese ice cream, and lipstick red strawberry sauce), a retro collab with Dolly Parton. All were indeed splendid just as advertised! Pro tips: opt for a Buttercrisp Waffle Bowl to deliciously prevent drips, and join Jeni's rewards program to take advantage of freebies! read more

My friends and I came here after a night out for my birthday. I had a birthday cake ice cream cone and it was delicious. I think my friends ice creams were a bit pricey though, but overall we liked the location and how close it was to the clubs we were out at. I thought the shirts were super cute and asked help with the sizing and was going to get a medium, when the girl helping me looked at me and said "I am wearing a medium sooo..." or something like that. Basically insinuating that a medium will not fit me. It kind of rubbed me the wrong way but overall we would probably return. Also, the medium did fit lol read more

My wife wanted to try Jeni's I had a pint from the grocery store so I said let's give it a go. The server told us how it worked and we got the most popular combo the signature 3 half scoops I added a waffle bowl and that brought the total to around 12 dollars. We picked banana pudding a dairy free ice cream , bramble berry crumble and , gooey butter cake. The bramble berry was phenomenal and the my wife didn't share her gooey butter cake luckily I already tried it in pint form so I knew it was good, the banana pudding was good but I've had better.on the way to the register I noticed they had the bridgerton flavor so I got that for my wife with her being such a big fan haven't tried that yet but we shall see. They had an outside bench and an inside bench can fit about three people and the parking is reasonable for North Park. read more

Such unique flavors! I loved their collab with Bridgerton, especially the earl grey ice cream. It was perfectly flavored. They also have sorbet and yogurt flavors. I got the watermelon taffy which was a tart frozen yogurt, and wow I absolutely loved how tart it tasted, as thas my usual favorite flavor of froyo. This ice cream shop nailed that flavor. read more

Incredible ice cream every time I come here! The creaminess is to die for and they always nail their flavors. You honestly cannot go wrong with anything you get from here. Workers are friendly and they don't rush you even though there is always a line. It is pricier for the teeny scoops you get compared to other ice cream shops. For me, this is definitely worth it, but only once in a while with the price. It makes it more of an extra special treat that way. read more

Absolutely love Jeni's ice cream in NP. If you've walked past this store, you know how tempting it is since it always smells sooooo good. The Jeni's pints in store are good but the fresh scoops taste 10x better for some reason. I loved the double dough flavor and the birthday cake. It is definitely expensive for how much ice cream you get, but it really is quality. It has a really cool old school retro vibe too. Definitely need to come back and try everything else! read more

It was pretty good at the beginning but I got pretty sick of the flavor after a few bites. It is rich and seems healthier but I don't prefer this type of ice cream. The cone was also salty rather than your normal sweet cone. The servers were really nice and explained a lot of the different flavors to my friends and I. They also let you sample as many flavors as you want which is a plus! It's pretty small and if there is a lot of people in line it could take a while due to samplings. But overall, my experience here was great and workers were very helpful! read more
It was my first time here and this place is so cute! A little hidden gem. I honestly can't even tell you what flavors ice cream there is because I'm sure they make their own. Sam was so sweet and nice! He let us try so many ice creams before buying. Tried this place for the first time & I love it already! Randomly found this spot while we were in the neighborhood. I love that they have a variety of ice cream flavors. My favorite was their seasonal Miso Butterscotch Brownie flavor! I will be coming back in the future to try more flavors! read more
