I made the trek out west to my home land this past weekend to celebrate mom's 55th. What better way to celebrate than to overindulge in a feast of Americanized Chinese food! As seems to occur at many Chinese restaurants, the a la carte style ordering led to us ordering waaaaaay too much food, but I was ok with that as I was sent home with two dinners of leftovers. Sweet! Everything we ordered was good, but none of the food really stood out to me as better compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. Chicken fingers, lo mein, fried rice, crab rangoons, pu pu platter, General Tso's chicken, and a host of other appetizers were all pretty standard. Again, nothing bad, but nothing overly memorable. I wouldn't hesitate to get takeout from here again, but if I were going for a sit-down meal, would probably opt for China House down the street. read more

Let me preface this review by pointing out that when I visited this place I was passing through. Perhaps compared to other local restaurants Jenny's is okay. We were hoping for your standard fare. Some of the food was not bad-- the appetizers they didn't cook, such as spare ribs and shrimp and stuff. The beef dish was on the poor side of okay. But what really stood out was the pork moo shu dish. Wow. Inedible. I think they used some rotten cabbage. It also had weird stuff in it that I've never seen in moo shu, such as water chestnuts. (It was also weird that moo shu was under the Szechuan section of the menu, so perhaps they are really mooninites pretending to be Chinese.) Yuck. read more

I've went to Jenny Chan's since it was "Oriental Express" way back in the day with family so it saddens me to write this review. They were never an exceptionally great restaurant, but within the past few years they have really gone downhill. My last experience with Jenny Chan's will be my last. My husband and I went there for dinner and my husband ordered a shrimp and lobster dish. He took one bite to discover it had pork in it. My husband doesn't eat pork and it wasn't mentioned on the menu that there was pork in the dish. He immediately spit it out and the waitress noticed, and took the dish away. When it was time to get our bill, we were charged for the dish that he didn't eat. I was very upset about this. Doesn't Judge Judy say, "If you eat the steak, you have to pay for the steak." My husband didn't eat the "steak." We shouldn't have been charged. Well the owner wasn't hearing any of that. So they have permanently lost our business... Having to pay 17$ for a dish that was spat up and thrown out is insulting. Regardless of that, the buffet is small and only served at lunch time. The food sits there all day in the warming trays, so depending on when you get there it may be dry and crusty so you have to mix it up yourself -lovely. The food itself is overpriced. If I hadn't gone there since I was a child, I wouldn't of gone as an adult. Like I said, we won't be back! read more

Absolutely awful. Staff was friendly. I don't like giving poor reviews but this family business will fail if they don't fix their game. General tso's chicken was super greasy with very little actual chicken. It was mostly batter and lacked any of the spicy red chili. No broccoli available. The pork fried rice was also bad: basically white rice cooked in soy sauce. Their local competition is much better. read more

My wife and I have a much better view on this place than the other reviews on here. The staff is always extremely friendly and the food is tasty and served hot. They have some of the best chicken teriyaki around. We are always satisfied and the food is reasonable priced. They are worth a visit. read more

It's New Years Eve and we couldn't get through to our regular place but this is closer and out of curiosity we thought we would try it. Big mistake. I'm not upset over the wait which was two hours longer than they said, it was a crazy night for take out. I wish I had checked here first. Most of the food had no taste. I had a giant piece of lobster in my food and I thought oh boy. Well it was big because it was so over cooked and tough I couldn't cut it let alone chew it. The crab rangoon filling was the worst I ever had. When I finished my plate I always let my dogs have my left overs. Guess what they sniffed, tasted a little and then walked away. I have never seen them do that. I wanted it to be good as it is local, but sorry it was not. I feel bad writing this to the owners, but they need to fix something and I don't want others to spend as much as we did (over $100 order) only to be so disappointed. read more

OKAYY...If youre looking for a decent chinese restaurant around this area DO NOT go to Jenny Chan's. Youre better off going to China House or the Wong Garden. Me and my family decided to try a new chinese place for lunch and since we never tried Jenny Chan's, we agreed to try it. When you walk into the restaurant it looks like SHIT. The place does not look inviting at all. All of the customers tend to be fat bikers or low lifes. The waiting staff is freakin horrible....not only do they expect you to order buffet which consists of 2 shitty @ss tables of grimy food. Bravo Jenny Chan's....Bravo. There were flies buzzing around all of the food and it looked like it had been sitting out for a couple of days. Also, please watch out for their "only waitress". She took ten minutes before she came to our table and filled the glasses with pool water or to hand out the menus. The hot tea even tasted like pool water. And once the food came around it was EDIBLE but thats the only credit i can give to them. All chinese food tastes similar but Jenny Chan's puts weird tasting sauce all over everything. Even the duck & soy sauces tasted alittle funky. I was alittle sceptible of the strange discoloration in the general tso's chicken that i ordered. And if for some reason you still decide to go eat at Jenny Chan's im warning you that the bill magically doesnt add up to what you ordered. We shared 2 luncheon specials which both costed under $8 with no extra sides and the bill ended up being $25 dollars. IM NOT a picky eater and i always appreciate restaurants for certain things BUT Jenny Chan's is a complete rip off, the waiting staff is horrible, and the food/water taste nasty yet theyre alittle pricy. I would not recommend this place to a friend. Over all...Dont waste your time eating there and then have to worry about the possibility of getting food/water poisoning like i did. read more
