Had a great manicure with dip with Sonny the other evening. I chose to go to Jenny Nails because they are one of the few salons that is open until 730 on weeknights. I arrived at 645 (with appointment) and Sonny stayed past the normal close time to ensure that it was the perfect manicure. The only reason for 4 stars is that in times past that I have gone in without an appointment I have had to wait up to 30minutes for a technician.

Jenny Nails -- Monroe Ave....toe disaster

The saga continues....I uploaded a pic...it says it all.....cut my toe badly......Filing was rough and slanted sorely to one side of each toe. Provider only spoke in a foreign language to the other providers. Never said a word to me. Other providers asked their clients questions -- me, I had to point out what was needed. The cheese grater thing was used on others -- not even offered. Skipped the polish....NO NO NO

I went in today for a fill and color. Very unhappy with the way he did my color. This hue really needed 3 coats in order to look decent, also the nail is supposed to be shiny and smooth after you apply the top coat, not in my case, I could see scratches all over my nails. SLOPPY JOB and he didn't even care.

The skin around my nail was cut by one of the tools and I've had this infection ever since! And this is it post treatment of the infection!

I got a pedicure from Jenny nails and the person who did the pedicure did not listen to what shape I asked for, and I was dissatisfied with that. But my main concern was that he cut the skin around my big toe and I started bleeding, and he didn't acknowledge it and carried on!! I ended up with a nasty infection on that toe that I've had to treat every since. So not worth it.

During our pedicure service, the gentleman was rushing to take on another customer (and we happen to come on a busy day), my daughter's paint job was hideous.

I recently visited Monroe Nails for a gel manicure and pedicure, and I had a great experience from…read morestart to finish. We called ahead, and they recommended making an appointment to be seen quickly. Everything went exactly as they said, and there was essentially no wait time when we arrived. The salon itself was very clean, peaceful, and relaxing. The chairs were especially comfortable, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to unwind. One small thing I would change is the TV placement. I think mounting the TVs behind the estheticians' chairs would make them easier for customers to watch during services. The staff was incredibly kind, accommodating, and attentive to detail throughout the entire appointment. Since I do not usually get my nails done often, I appreciated how helpful they were with color selection and decision-making. They made the whole experience feel comfortable and welcoming. It has now been over a week since my appointment, and my nails still look great, which says a lot about the quality of their work. The pricing was also very reasonable for the level of service received. Monroe Nails is definitely a spot I would return to, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing experience with friendly staff and quality nail services.

I have been coming here since we moved here almost eight years ago. I like supporting a local small…read morebusiness. Usually I get a pedicure with Elizabeth and now I come for facials with Courtney. This might seem like an indulgence but after the summer I had I needed this. The facial she gives are fabulous, but the arm, shoulder and upper back massage it's a welcome treat and I usually sleep better after having this done. Staff who work here a so lovely and so are the owners. Make appointments kids

After several years of coming here, I still wouldn't go anywhere else. Yes, I could order online or…read morego to Sephora, but Waterlily and Sepora are worlds apart--and why not when we can support local--AND it's actually better?! First of all, the vibe is completely different. Waterlily is an old house that feels cozy and warm. All of their employees are so elegant and classy and have the utmost customer service at heart. They offer spa services, skin products from certain lines (can't say much about them as I haven't explored them really), and only Trish McEvoy and Laura Mercier make up. However, I love Laura Mercier, and a few Trish McEvoy items (on their suggestion) have become staples for me. I won't use this forum to talk about Laura Mercier, but it really is an excellent make up line. For me, I always like to try on new products or just test out some make up for fun when I go in to stock up on something I have run out of, and they are always happy to put something on me. Plus, every time I go, I learn a new technique of some sort. These ladies really know their stuff. It isn't like at Sephora where you get some high school girl who has only been using make up herself for like 2 years and may have managed to memorize a few key facts about the entire store since she's overwhelmed by the surplus of product lines and hasn't been around long enough to try 1/100 of them. The ladies that work at Waterlily are skilled make up artists and fans of make up. They have a strong knowledge of what works given your face structure, strengths and weaknesses, and how to apply the lines they sell. And they often have national make up artists come in. Oh, and also they keep a file on which products you ordered so if you wonder if this new shade will go with anything you have, they can just look it up and say "Yes, this will go perfectly with that cream shadow in x shade you bought" or if you come in for more concealer, but can't remember what color you are, they know. Very helpful! And some of them even remember my name! What store does that?? Recently, I've had a few issues with a certain product line and they are always good about returning or exchanging. However, know that they only offer store credit, not full returns, which is the only drawback of this store.
