I truly wanted to love this place since they were able to take me in as a last minute walk-in, but I can't. While my nails look nice, the technician that worked on me was quite the opposite, except when I handed her the tip... The only time she spoke to me was when I spoke to her and she was very short about everything. During my fill-in, she CUT my finger and pretended like it didn't happen. She continued to do my nails and put ACETONE on my cut (to say that it was painful is an understatement). Never once did I receive an apology for cutting me or even an acknowledgement of it. I've had the pleasure of going to this salon twice, and I've had a great experience with Lexi both times. She was the perfect mix of letting me just relax and enjoy the mani when I didn't feel like talking, but she also was great to chat with when I wanted to. I felt safe with the COVID protections in place, and the place was clean and welcoming. And on top of all of that, the prices were great. I was able to easily get an appointment when I wanted. Just be aware that tips are in cash only - so make sure you get some out ahead of time. My only regret is that I've been so busy that I haven't made it in recently, but I'm hoping to get back there soon. I recommend them to everyone! read more

I stumbled upon Jenny's nails while on vacation in virginia beach. This place stood out to me because of the wide range and varieties of polishes that they offer. Mai was my nail tech for the first time and she did an amazing job at helping me pick my color and design since I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. I've gone to so many nail places that would want to rush their work instead of take the time to perfect every little detail, Mai was able to shape my nails exactly how I wanted it to look, she was funny and super easy to talk to. It was my first visit and end of the day. They were busy I was going to leave and come back next day. They said wait 10 minutes. I'm glad I did. They were very friendly and took real good care of my nails. The place that had done them before didn't do a very good job. Jenny nail recognized it and removed the gel nails and started over no extra charge for removal. I was the last customer and they didn't do a rush job. My first time there I went there and they treated me nice but I'm sorry I'm sorta not satisfied with my nails. I got Mac and it started peeling not even a week later. So, after checking out 5 or 6 different VB nail salons in search of an aesthetician skilled in ombré nail techniques, I have found a winner! My primary goal was to find someone able to provide a professional looking acrylic ombré manicure. A clean, hygienic salon was obviously a nonnegotiable concern. While not the top priority, my positive rating has also been influenced by the level of attentiveness to my requests as well as the overall ability to interact with clients. In my experience, local service providers and clients sometimes struggle with language barriers despite the best of intentions. Alexi (Lexi) at Jenny's Nails by far surpassed my expectations. At the very least I believed the generation gap would complicate casual conversation given the differences in our ages. Nope! This young lady is gifted with the ability to converse in a humorous, thoughtful and intelligent manner, all the while providing skilled services. Not only were my nails done beautifully--exactly (and affordably) as I desired, I was able to view the amazing workmanship on her previous client. The intricate details Lexi was able to display on her client's nails was simply stunning and most impressive. Honestly, I have never seen such a gorgeous end result. Lexi is truly an artist! As a long time resident of Kempsville, I am incredulous that I have found such a talented artist in my own backyard! If I had a complaint it would be...wait, no- Lexi gave me the opportunity to tweak any potential issues prior to her completing my manicure-so, no complaints--unless asking Jenny's management to add the ability to do online scheduling is a valid concern.... I've been going to Mai ever since she started doing nails and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for good quality nail work. She is professional and meticulous in her work, but knows how to have a good conversation and is very down to earth. Her work speaks for itself. Everyone at Jenny Nails are always so friendly and caring also. They offer a variety of pedicures besides just the standard pedicure and each pedicure comes with hot towels also. Their basic manicure comes with a paraffin also which is good for those that have dry skin and stiff joints; paraffin does wonders. They have a wide selection of polishes and dip powder and best of all, they have swatches for them instead of looking lost at the all the colors. The salon is very clean from their disposable files and buffers to sanitizing their tools and sweeping the floors, but be warned; they are a pet friendly salon, so all animals welcomed to the salon. Would not recommend it if you are allergic or afraid of animals. The prices are very reasonable and well worth the money. The salon is like a hidden treasure located in the left corner of Kroger. I got my nails done at Jenny's because I went here once before with my sister and my nails looked great. However, this time, they looked terrible! I asked for coffin and I received more of a square shape and my nails were super uneven. I was told my nails were done drying, but they got messed up as soon as I went to check out. Also, the whole process took two hours while it only takes an average of 45 minutes to an hour at other nail spas/salons. I even went and got my nails redone at a different nail spa because I was super dissatisfied with my nails that I got done at Jenny's. Overall, I will not be returning again! But the fact that Im told on every occasion that "we are booked" and immediately turns their back away from me is not good. I was never even given a chance or asked to make an appointment. The first thing literally out of her mouth was "wash your hands please". Granted I completely understand the times that we are in and the fact that the check in service is on a screen. I go to wash my hands and come back, check in, and then sit down. She still doesn't ask what service I am here for. Five minutes pass and another worker asks if I have an appointment I say no. She turns to the lady in the first chair on the right hand side and her response was "you told me you had an appointment". Which was a LIE. I said You didn't even ask me anything just told me yo wash my hands as soon as I walked in the door. The woman whose nails she was doing even said yeah you didn't ask her anything. I have been on several occasions. The first time I visited, I was treated with kindness and respect by Megan. The next time I came in the owner was outright rude to me and my friend. She did not greet us kindly. Annoyed, she asked, "what do you want?" We both work in the service industry and know how the job can wear on you so we stayed. She continued to be rude and then decided she didn't want to take any other clients that day. Because my first experience was good, I thought maybe the second was a fluke or an off day, so I came back to try again. I was met with the same rude, annoyed tone and stuck up attitude. I will never return to this salon, nor will I recommend it to any of my friends. Being kind is not difficult and I'd say it's imperative to treat guests with proper customer service anywhere, but especially when you are a small business. I stopped here for a quick full set because they had wonderful reviews. They were really nice and welcoming. But once the guy started doing my nails things quickly went downhill. He put the tips lower than the white part of my nail so it looked ridiculous. I made him change two. He almost cut my finger when trimming the tips but I yanked my hand away before he could clamp all the way down and draw blood. I stuck it out but then he called me picky because I kept pointing things out like a missing part of acrylic and one finger was too thin of acrylic and would have broken within an hr of leaving the salon. The nails on my left hand are shorter than those on the right. But at that point I felt I couldn't say much else because I was 'picky'. I just got home and there's not only bubbles all throughout the acrylic but because he didn't buff them correctly, there are scratches all over my nails.
