Located in a busy Burnsville area on a Sunday parking near the door wasn't easy but we took advantage of the parking ramp close by. I have been here on a weekday and could snap a spot in the lot. We were welcomed with a warm hello. It is a cozy spot with booths as well as tables and even though it was busy we were seated right away. Service was speedy but the waiter stressed we had as much time as we needed to make our decisions. I ordered the strawberries and cream waffle and it was delightful and very filling. My scrambled eggs and sausage were great! They are generous enough to add an additional potato side. read more

I've never seen so many shades of brown in my life. Brown tables, brown walls, brown wood, brown-hued furniture, brown (and brownish yellow) plates, brown carpet, brown stone, brown tiles, and brown food. The aestheic was firmly late '90s Best Western breakfast area. Or maybe the dining room in grandma's assisted living facility. But, surprisingly, it was pretty good. We've been twice for brunch. The Fiesta Omelet contains more shades of brown than should exist on any plate, but with the optional chorizo it was tasty and pleasantly spicy. The garden scramble was good but a bit watery as veggies and eggs can often be. The Chipotle Benedict sounded weird but was pretty good, although the English muffin wasn't toasted. Thoughts were mixed on the cheesy has browns--it would've been nice to have just crisp hash browns without the cheese. Everyone loved the cafe potatoes. Service was pretty slow on our first visit, speedy on the second. We won't seek Jensen's out, but if we're in the neighborhood we'll probably be back. Three and a half stars, rounding up. read more

I've tried takeout from this restaurant several times since moving to the south suburbs but recently I got to sit down for breakfast with my mom who was visiting from out of town. She loved it and she is a picky eater - so that is saying something! We arrived early in the morning but still had to wait about 15 mins which we didn't mind. It was a weekend so it was expected. Super busy but worth it! The food took some time to arrive but once it did, we were blown away. I loved both the lemon ricotta pancakes and the Cajun Breakfast with scrambled eggs and Sante Fe shredded chicken. The lemon ricotta pancakes had great flavor and the unique syrup - which tastes like caramel - was fantastic. The Cajun Breakfast was topped with hollandaise sauce and there were cheesy hash browns at the bottom. It was so delicious! The cherry on top was the amazing triple berry jam that is made in-house. My mom loved it so much that she bought a jar to go home with. It was so worth it! The fresh squeezed orange juice was also delicious. We will definitely be back and can't wait to try more items on the menu. read more

Been here multiple times in the past month with my partner and each visit has been great. Note that if you're visiting on the weekend, especially around brunch time, expect a wait. It is very much worth the wait (and there's a good amount of space to wait around in, and a nice PA system for calling folks.) The dining area makes good use of the space -- even when full of people, it doesn't feel cramped or crowded, and there's no squeezing past tables and chairs to navigate around. There's some additional patio seating we haven't had the opportunity to try yet. The service has been consistently nice and on top of things like refills, checking in, bringing additional condiments, etc. Pat has waited on us multiple times and is always incredibly friendly. Small attention to detail I appreciate: a callout on the receipt to pay your server instead of going up to the front, very thoughtfully preempting a common question I have. :) Finally, the food is fantastic. We've tried the apple cinnamon bread (great texture and apple flavor) and caramel roll (pictured -- it is huge and caught the attention of multiple nearby tables when it was brought to us) starters and both are delicious. For the price, I expected smaller starters, but they're pretty big (me and my partner got through half of the caramel roll before we had to ask for a box.) The country fried steak and eggs is a cut above any I've had elsewhere, helped by the thick and delicious sausage gravy. I recommend the cheesy hashbrowns with these -- the cheese doesn't overpower them or make them super heavy. Their pancakes, as others have noted, are very fluffy and delightful. Between the butter-maple syrup (apparently made in-house) and triple-berry jam, there's no bad options for topping them. Speaking of the triple-berry jam, it makes an excellent pairing with the Monte Cristo sandwich. (If there's anything approaching a complaint in this review, it's that the Monte Cristo may be a little thick for my personal taste, but that hasn't stopped me from craving it again.) Finally, their coffee and iced tea hits the mark. The black iced tea is light and refreshing, and not a bitter, cloudy mess full of bits like you'll get at other places. They have other tea options as well, like green mango and earl grey. Overall, Jensen's is an incredibly easy recommend. Friendly service, good atmosphere, the food is right on the money. read more

It's always a treat to go to Jensen's Cafe! Be prepared for a wait, everyone knows this is the spot to be! Service is consistently excellent and the wait staff is always so friendly and happy. We orderd their strawberry pancakes and daily special (steak skillet) for brunch to share. The waitress knew that we were sharing the food, so she served our pancakes in two separate plates. Jensen's is a restaurant enigma. How is it worth waiting at least 30 minutes to get a table? (It is worth it, and the gift shop helps.) How are the waitstaff so friendly and attentive when it is so busy? (They are! And they bring extra cream for coffee!) How is the coffee so good? (Really, it is notably good.) What did they do to the syrup that makes one want to drink it? (Come for the syrup; stay for the syrup.) Why are the pancakes fluffier and more satisfying than all other pancakes? (Truly, they are superior.) All I can say is that these mysteries culminate in the most worthwhile breakfast experience in the area. They offer boxes with tiny to-go cups of syrup, but there is no need. The pancakes are too good to leave leftovers. But still take the extra syrup home. read more

Jensen' s is a great place for breakfast dates. The food is always so good and the service is top of the line. I recommend getting the cinnamon rolls or the apple bread. Both are fantastic and a great way to start your meal. The mimosas are awesome and priced pretty fair. My go to is the Chipotle Benedict with cheese hash browns. My wife loves their Denver omelette with the breakfast potatoes. The one thing that can be a draw back is the parking can be challenging, but the parking ramp is free and not that fair of a walk. read more

It is nestled in a building with nearby gift shop off the hall. Waiting benches, restrooms, ambiance inside with fireplace and booths plus tables. Enjoy cocktails as well like Mimosa and Bloody Mary. We hadn't ate at Jensen's in a while. Parking here is always difficult and the last few times we tried we couldn't find a spot within a few blocks. It was a very disappointing meal. Service was very slow despite the restaurant at 50% capacity. We ordered the Biscuits & Gravy and the Crab Cake Benedict. Our food must have sat because by the time it was served the hashbrowns were cold and everything else was barely lukewarm. Our over easy eggs with both orders were way overcooked and hard. Sam, our server, never checked back or offered refills. We barely ate our food and Sam just dropped off the check and left before we could say anything. We expected better from Jensen's and won't be back. read more
