I hired Thermoglaze on a recommendation from someone else. It was very disappointing to see our…read moretub peel and bubble just a short time after the refinishing. I was unable to contact the owner to fix this. I paid about $450 for nothing -- it looks very bad. Very disappointed.

THIS COMPANY IS AN UNPROFESSIONAL MESS- DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, EFFORT OR MONEY…read moreLet me start by saying I would not normally take the time to write such an extensive review, but our encounter with Thermoglaze has been a completely frustrating and unprofessional experience. The manner in which Mark communicates (or doesn't) is unprofessional, borderline harassing, and the work that he completed has fallen apart in a single year, while he claims the work is guaranteed for 10 years- good luck getting him back to fix it. Mark admitted fault, told us he would re-glaze the tub, did not do it, offered a refund and then ignored us. A year ago-Thermoglaze refinished a bathtub and had problems with their chemicals mixing, leaving some holes and pockets but they admitted there was a problem and came back the next day to try again. The results were good, I would have rated them 4 our of 5 as the quality of the finish was not quite up to par with their more premium pricing, but the tub looked good and the workers were polite. Fast forward one year- the floor of our tub is nearly half peeled and chipped up, and falling apart by the day while we wait for a new company to come fix Thermoglaze's mistakes. When I noticed a couple of small dent size chips in the glaze, I attempted to call Thermoglaze and submit through their website form. I did not hear back for WEEKS. The chips and holes in the paint worsened, and I continued to call. The voicemail box was constantly full, so I couldn't leave a message most of the time- but did leave a couple of message in there at points with no return calls. FINALLY, I resorted to writing a negative review on Google and Yelp, and magically and suddenly, I get Mark to answer the phone almost immediately as if writing a bad review is the only way to get in contact with this guy. I stated my name and why I am calling and his first reply is "Oh the Justin ******* that wrote the review?" I said yes, and he claimed to not have received any of my calls or messages acting as if the review was the first he was hearing of the problem. I explained what was happening, and that this was an urgent matter as we have a two year old toddler we were trying to bathe in our only tub, while his glaze was chipping off every bath and shower. He told me that a the time, a year ago, they were having problems with their glaze adhering to their slip covers, and he would come out in what was a week or so to re-glaze it for us under their 10 year guarantee. Appointment set for a week later, at noon. My wife and I plan on one of us being home at or before noon to let him in for the work. I get a Ring notification at 11am and he is standing at the door. We hurried home, but he was long gone. No phone call, nothing but his business card stuck in our door. He was an hour early, did not attempt to call us, and we didn't hear from him the rest of the business day. Later that evening, my wife gets Mark on the phone. She says- we had a 12 o'clock appointment, and you showed up at 11- what happened? Mark states that he was trying to squeeze us in between jobs and figured it would be ok. She reiterated the fact that this was an Important matter to us because we are bathing our toddler in this tub and the paint is continually peeling off. His answer- to put down a towel while we bathe him. No apology, no acknowledgment of mistake. He set a new date to come fix his work for the following Wednesday. At this point we are furious. After weeks and weeks of no answer to anything, finally getting ahold of him and him missing our appointment, my wife hit the boards for another review and updated information with the avoidance of calls, missed appointments, and worsening tub chipping and peeling. Even later, just after she posts the new review- he sends me a text message to the effect of "I talked to your wife about the missed appointment, but it looks like she posted a negative review." I said yes, she did post one- we are frustrated. Mark goes on to state that if we do not take that review down, he will not come to fix (his admittedly faulty work) our tub "FOR FREE". I stated- Mark, the work is not for free- we paid for it, it is apparently guaranteed for 10 years, and you also admitted that your process was faulty on slip mats at the time. He fired back-" if that is the kind of attitude you are going to have, you can keep your review up and I will cut you a check for a full refund. We have not heard back since, after many attempts to collect, and we do not have our refund. I plan on pursuing this refund to my furthest reaching ability and let as many people know as I can. I hope this review helps you in finding a DIFFERENT tub glazing company and saves you the headache of working with this unprofessional mess of a company. I would like to add that while their business card states they are a BBB accredited business- a quick search of the BBB site states that they are NOT, accredited, but do have some complaints filed there.
