There was plenty of parking available. With the 2 windows available, I was able to walk right up and order. I got a small Jelati with the pumpkin pie ice and vanilla ice cream. Scanning the app was easy to earn rewards, and the Jelati came out fast. I took my Jelati back to my car to enjoy. The small, though, seems to now be much smaller than in the past. For the size and price difference, it is a much better buy to get a medium. The pumpkin pie flavor is amazing. It literally tastes just like pumpkin pie. The pumpkin flavor was sweet without being overbearing. It felt light, refreshing, and delicious. It was just a wonderful dessert to end the night. Service was very friendly and helpful. While you order at the counter and get your Italian ice, there was ample seating indoors that was clean and comfortable. The music was soft rock. Parking was very easy as it is located in a strip mall. I'm glad to see there is a branch in Maitland, and I heard they may be opening one near Lake Eola. Jeramiah's Italian Ice serves Italian ice, soft serve ice cream, and a heavenly concoction called "gelati" which combines the two in layers. For those unfamiliar with Italian Ice, here's the scoop. Italian ice, also known as granita, is usually made from similar ingredients to sorbet, that is fruit, sugar, and water, and like sorbet, Italian ice does not contain dairy. Unlike sorbet, Italian ice is not churned smooth; instead, Italian ice consists of icy flakes. These ice flakes are very finely shaved and yield a smoother texture than the larger crushed ice chips found in a snow cone. Jeramiah's Italian ice possess intensive, saturated flavors. Even a small cup of such intensity proves overwhelming to my palate. Luckily, Jeramiah's has the perfect solution for me - half Italian ice and half soft serve ice cream in alternating layers, served together. Of course, my Italian father calls me a blasphemer for voicing this opinion. He likes his Italian ice sans ice cream additive. The ice/ice cream combo obviously also increases the smoothness and creaminess of the dessert. Jeramiah's offers free samples, and I suggest trying your potentially desired combos before ordering a full size one. (Pro tip) some ice cream flavors will overwhelm the Italian ice. For example, the soft serve chocolate ice cream which tastes like an old-fashioned fudgesicle (yum) completely obscures the salted caramel Italian ice. Similarly, the soft serve vanilla overpowers the more delicate watermelon Italian ice. This time, I ultimately chose Key West tropical gelati. The Key West ice blends the flavors of pineapple, coconut, mango, banana, and passion fruit. I could differentiate all flavors except the passion fruit. The combination of flavors was still yummy, a burst of South Florida or the islands in the mouth. By varying the ratio of ice cream and Italian ice, I could control the flavor intensity of each bite. My mother, following my dad's advice, chose pina colada Italian ice. Within its ice shavings were found small chunks of pineapple. My dad chose mango which sported a strong mango flavor. I loved it, but I love mangos. Jeramiah's offers staple (constant), alternating, and seasonal flavors. Check the website to see if your favorite is available, but be advised, different Jeramiah's stores may have different flavors. You may wish to call the store in question. Here are some helpful hints as to typical flavor swaps at this location. Cherry and black cherry rotate. Red raspberry and black raspberry alternate. Cake batter and caffe latte rotate. Key West tropical and Bahama freeze tend to be constants at this location because these flavors currently sell very well. However, their availability may change at other locations more frequently. The cup sizes are deceptive. If you do not have the cup cap put on (which is necessary on to-go orders), they are very generous stacking the Italian ice and ice cream far above the rim! The two cashiers/servers were very nice. They even checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our desserts. Great treat on a hot Florida day, they have a wide selection of flavors for frozen ice treats and they often create limited edition holiday flavors. I tried the pumpkin pie ice, gingerbread and cake batter. I cant say that i liked the cake batter, the gingerbread is a bit spicy, I could only enjoy it in small doses. The pumpkin pie was my favorite but its quite similar to gingerbread in flavor. I think sticking with the fruity flavors is what I'll get next time, mango, strawberry and coconut. If you have a hard time trying to decide on a favor they will offer you samples. Everyone that works here are extremely helpful and friendly. There's a sitting area inside but you can order outside and take it to go, which I normally do. A small goes a long way, even though it looks small it's filling. A complete disappointment. We googled "ice cream" and this place was in the results and indicated it served gelato. Not even close. It serves non-creamy Italian ice it calls "gelati." And no gelato. If you want ice cream all you have to choose from is chocolate or vanilla machine-dispensed soft serve like you get at the all-you-can-eat buffets. I chose a small "strawberry" gelati and ice cream combo and only ate half because the strawberry flavoring was so objectionably artificial. Apparently this brand has many stores in the Orlando area. 5 Stars for a new location with -- INDOOR SEATING -- as well as the typical Jeremiah's outdoor ordering and seats. Oh yeah, as the Italian ice and ice cream is legit. I wanted to give this one an update to mention a few changes. Jeremiah's is now located in the strip mall, next to Firehouse Subs. You'll order outside through the window as you did before, but now you have more seating options. Ordering is a process only because I'm indecisive as hell. Luckily, they let you sample flavor combos before you commit. I went with the Horchata Italian ice with the vanilla ice cream. These came layered and swirled in a plastic cup, with the signature heaping swirl up top. Lick that bad boy quickly, or do what I mentioned in my previous post- get a second cup to dump half in and eat at your leisure. The flavor combo I got was perfect for anyone who wants something that doesn't include fruit flavoring, but is still light for a hot day. As usual, everyone who works there was smiling and super helpful with this decision-challenged customer, so it kept with that lovely kind Jeremiah's service you've come to expect.
