Stopped by Jeni's on a Sunday with a friend and it was the perfect little treat. The shop had a fun, relaxed vibe and the staff were really nice while we sampled a few flavors (which you kind of have to do here because everything sounds good). The ice cream was super creamy and tasted really fresh, and I like that their flavors feel a little different from your typical scoop shop. We saw information about "Ice Cream for Breakfast" day and knew we wanted to participate because who can argue about dessert for breakfast?! Jeni's ice cream truly knocks it out of the park with their flavors. The flavors are so true to their description that it's always worth sampling and surprising yourself. Since it was breakfast I opted for the maple soaked pancakes which tasted exactly like maple soaked pancakes and one of their Bridgerton flavors, the Queen Charlotte sponge cake, the fruit mixed in was the selling point for me. I tried out Jeni's for the first time today and was so pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it! I haven't had the store bought pints of Jeni's yet, but I feel like going to the actual ice cream shop was the right way to go anyways. Staff was very knowledgeable on each flavor and kindly let me sample the flavors I couldn't decide between. I ended up going with the gooey butter cake and the darkest chocolate. We stopped in for "ice cream for breakfast" day where they opened early and had such a fun event. There were stickers and there was even a pancakes flavored ice cream! The bridgerton themed earl grey was really good. Honestly every flavor they have is spot on. I can't explain how they do it but they are able to make every flavor actually taste just like it's meant to. Another thing I like is they they scoop half scoops so you can have 2-4 scoops and it's not so much ice cream you can't eat it or you feel sick after. My absolute favorite ice cream place ever. The only place that doesn't upset my stomach being lactose intolerant. Their ingredients are so high quality and the taste profiles are incredible. I get so excited going to try out the new seasonal flavors. Really love the peach and biscuit one and the pistachio seasonal flavors. Brambleberry is a great classic I gravitate towards. The three half scoops is the perfect size. I usually end up sharing it with my fiancé and it is a perfect sized sweet treat for us to share. We go almost every time we go to the movies next door. So happy to finally have a Jeni's in Orlando! They opened next to the Regal theater in the newly remodeled Winter Park Village which is the perfect location for them. Now whenever I go to the movies, I also look forward to getting ice cream either before or after. I first experienced Jeni's when they did a pop-up many years ago at Rifle Paper Company. I tried the sweet cream biscuits & peach jam flavor and it totally blew my mind. I went home raving about this ice cream to my husband. I truly could not believe the texture and that they somehow kept the biscuits in the ice cream from getting soggy and the peach jam tasted so fresh. It's still one of my favorite flavors to this day. Flash forward a few years and I visited my first Jeni's scoop shop in Atlanta. I've been hoping they would coming to Orlando ever since and I finally got my wish. The service staff is always super friendly and they allow you to sample any flavors you'd like. My current favorite would have to be the gooey butter cake which is cream cheese ice cream with vanilla cake crumbles and caramel butterscotch sauce swirled in... SO GOOD! I also really like the banana cream pudding (dairy free), frosé sorbet, coffee with cream & sugar, and the brown butter almond brittle flavors. I finally got to got to this store after wanting to visit for a while. We had just left happy hour and a little bit of ice cream never hurts to finish up the night. I went with the half scoop of the lavender and one of the lemon bar ($7), my best friend went with the waffle cone. I got to experience a bit or two from the little portion that provided my serving and it is a bit salty which works. The lavender was great without being overpowering and the lemon bar had the additional bits mixed in so you needed to chew it a bit. This was the first time I've had Jeni's ice cream. My daughter buying a few pints at Publix prompted the visit. The service was nice and the shop was extremely clean. There is a table inside that seats 8 people. Then a few tables with single chairs. So you can enjoy your ice cream in the ac. Which is nice in the Florida. Now for the ice. I chose two different scoops. The first was Sweet Cream Biscuits & Peach Jam. I wanted to love this ice cream. But, I felt there was not enough peach jam so you didn't really get the peach taste. The second scoop was Brown Butter Almond Brittle. Again wanted to love this flavor but I didn't taste any Brittle. They need to take a page from Ben & Jerry's who don't skimp on the flavors. Well here we go, another competitor in the Kelly's-dominated Orlando area. Will this big, trendy chain be able to make a dent in the ice cream market share? It's certainly gonna give it it's best shot posting up in the luxurious Winter Park Village. That'll get them some high-end clientele and in the eyes of a lot of Grammers and TikTokkers. But anyway, to the ice cream. I love how they have flavors that are normal and you know what they are, and I love how they have flavors that you have no idea what they are until you read the ingredients. (Cosmic Bloom??) I love how they have monthly rotating flavors. That is the only way to guarantee repeat business from customers. I know I don't go to Baskin Robbins anymore, boring. I also love how they have plenty of dairy-free flavors that actually taste very good. I don't need dairy-free, but for those who do, rest assured that you won't have a decline in quality with the options they offer here. When I came on this particular trip, I did happen to get the dairy-free Texas Sheet Cake (Decadent chocolate cake crumbles, bittersweet fudge, and palate-gripping cocoa) and the Gooey Butter Cake (Cream cheese ice cream layered with crumbles of vanilla cake and a swirl of caramel-butterscotch sauce) in a double scoop in a waffle cone situation. The sheet cake was so good. It was very chocolately, but without being too chocolately... sorry for that, but trust me on that description. You'll see. And the butter cake, the reason it was so good was because the ice cream itself was cream cheese flavored, so you didn't have to sacrifice topping space, so genius! So you have beautiful ice cream in a beautiful space in a beautiful shopping complex, and you get treated like royalty because I'm sure the staff is trained to think that anyone of us could be a Winter Park mega lawyer. Was it as good as Kelly's? I can't say. That goes outside the scope of this review. Will I be back? Only if I'm in the area, sorry, I live in Oviedo. WOW, what fantastic ice cream. There were so many things I loved about Jeni's. First of all the sample spoons are metal, so they are less wasteful than the traditional plastic single use sample sticks. They also had really incredible and unique flavors. They make their own waffle cones in house and it smells like vanilla heaven in there. You also get a slice of waffle cone even if you order a cup, which I also thought was awesome.
