Tonight we started the ride with milk shakes from The Milkshake Factory. This is a BIG STEP UP from Dairy Queen near the house. I got the mint chip shake ($6.95) and my Wife got a plain Chocolate shake (also 6.95). After getting our shakes (in under two minutes) we headed outside to a bench nearby to enjoy them. Mine was creamy with bits of chocolate bouncing up a rather large bore straw that held firm to a big pull. Apparently someone at Corporate has a clue about what constitutes a proper milkshake straw. I tried a sip of my Wife's chocolate shake and it was also creamy with a chocolaty finish that let you know it was milk chocolate. Both of these were premium shakes that did not disappoint the taste buds or texture of the pull. While I would not go here often, the shakes are rich, I would make it a place to consider for an after meal treat from time to time. Their menu is large for a speciality shop and their chocolate bar samples were tasty as well. The second time I came, I left with a bark of s'mores. Their bark pieces are huge! Now to the milkshakes: First time I went I had their cookie brownie fudge. They top it with a piece of chocolate bark and the drink is served pretty fast. Loved the thickness of the shake but was very disappointed by the brownie taste. Pieces of brownie that tasted old. Ruined the shake. Second time- even though the first time was a disappointment- I went back to show support. I had their chocolatier and this one was much better compared to the first one. There was a lot of chocolate chips (they didn't skim on that) and again the shake was thick and creamy. The place is a pricey- $14 for a bark and shake, but it's good every one in awhile.

Froyo is a commodity, so what I look for in a frozen yogurt shop is interesting flavors, attractiveness of the store, and any policies that depart from other chains. I like sorbets, and this TCBY had four on offer when I went in, which is more than most. I got a ruby red grapefruit sorbet, which was quite delicious. Most self-serve places charge you for froyo by the ounce. TCBY charges by cup size, so you're best off if you want to really fill a cup. I usually don't want a whole lot so it's less ideal for me. The store is in an older strip mall and does have a weathered look inside and out. But it was clean, all the equipment seemed to be working and there was a nice selection of toppings. You should know that there is no public restroom. A good difference is that they also have ice cream, so you can satisfy a variety of cravings. Service was very good (the clerk helped me with the cup size charging). Overall it's a solid choice if you want something sweet in that area.

I'm partial to the mazapan flavor and the queso flavor, but I thought the queso ice cream was a little icy when I had it. What I really love to go here for are the aguas frescas! They looked dirty and grimy, almost like there used to be stickers or something on the floor that had been removed, but dirty residue was left behind. The product was good, but the cheap spoons, wasted ice cream, and dirty-looking floors really hurt the overall experience.
