Although it's called Zen Bodywork, look for the sign that says Skin Technology in the Sunflower Plaza. Jerri said she is thinking about renovating to improve the space and add another room (possibly update the sign). First off I must say I was impressed with Jerri's concern for me. She is very thorough in her questioning before beginning the session. She had me fill out a questionnaire like you do at the doctor's office. It was very thorough and covered all possible medical conditions. She is very professional and constantly thinking about her client's health. Through our discussion she discovered which parts I like to focus on, and how much pressure to use. She asked about my medical history and whether or not I have been to chiropractors. Before the session even began I could tell she knew what she was doing, and she had a genuine concern for my well-being. I checked in on yelp to receive the first time offer of $50 for an hour massage. The massage: During the first few minutes I could tell she was assessing and feeling out my body. She analyzed all areas to determine places of high stress and knots. I've been to so many cheap chinese massage places for $20 where they do their same old routine without considering the differences between clients. Gerry is the total opposite. She talks to you not only to determine what pressure you like, but throughout the entire massage to continually inprove and adjust. If you aren't a talker then she will be quiet, but if you're like me and want to give feedback she is fine with that. For a good portion of time, she focused on my back, explaining that I held a lot of tension in my lower left side and upper right side. I could feel the stress being relieved as she worked on the knots. The amount of pressure she applied was perfect. Next, she worked on my lower back and it was an extremely helpful tension reliever. I felt better immediately. Her work on my neck and arms was excellent, in addition to my legs and feet. I appreciated that she pinpointed all of my problems areas and gave me advice on how to take care of each area. Throughout the massage she rubbed peppermint on various key parts of my body. The warming sensation was designed to open up my sinuses and it certainly did the trick. The stretching she did for me at the end was simply amazing. She cracked my back and I immediately entered a state of bliss. It was a euphoric feeling. I felt like a new person. I usually only feel that good when I'm in a food coma. She has 21 reviews so far and every single one is a 5 star rating. This makes 22. Expectations were ultra high based on the reviews of others. She lived up to them, and surpassed them. Someone mentioned in another review, and I think they're right, that she doesn't have that many reviews because people want to keep her a secret! They're afraid she'll get overbooked and it will be hard to get an appointment! She is too good to be kept a secret, and she deserves the praise and recognition. She is excellent at what she does, and super flexible with scheduling as well. She recommended that I work on lower back stretches in order to keep my back in good shape. Here it goes: I have low tolerance for pain so before I went to Jerrie for waxing, I have actually tired a few "corporate chains". Let me tell you, it was a traumatic, painful experience. All in all, Jerrie really knows how to make my experience less painful by using a combination of regular and hard wax. I've known Jerrie for many years now and this is actually the first time I've gotten a massage from her. I would go to Massage Envy prior and I thought they did a great job until I went to Jerrie. I've had this knot for over a year and a half under my arms, so when I try to scratch my back I have this sharp pain. When I told Jerrie, she already knew which muscle it was. She shares the building with another clinic but it's small and cozy. The atmosphere is very pleasant and they offer water too. Jerri was incredibly professional and asked us about the area we want to focus on. We let her know where our ailments were and she inquired about our lifestyle activities to give us a better prognosis. Each massage took about 45 minutes to an hour and was absolutely incredible. She gave us information while as to areas we could improve on and suggested stretches for some tight areas. Since it was our first time and we found her on yelp, she gave us a discount and each massage was ~$65. For her level of professionalism and concern about your well-being this is about the right price. Other places can charge up to $150 per client so this is a steal.
