    Very honest and helpful. Never pressure to up-sale me which I appreciate. You would never get this type of service at a dealer.

Restoring the others made me a familiar face at my nearby Pep Boys store. That is until one Saturday afternoon when a cashier wrongly accused me of trying to use a stolen credit card. She whipped out a pair of scissors that were almost comically large and ceremoniously cut my card into shreds before my eyes. The store manager supported her action (fortunately their corporate management did not). The result is that for many years I would not step foot into any Pep Boys store. Which brings me to this Mesa location. Not only haven't I had a bad experience here but just the opposite, the employees here seem to be on a consistent mission to do whatever is possible, and sometimes well beyond that, to make sure the customer doesn't walk out unhappy. Are they perfect? No, that's not going to happen in any retail store, but I think what I'm seeing are employees who are good at putting themselves into their customers' shoes and treating them how they would want to be treated themselves. And maybe it's a bit of their parents having taught them how to play nice with scissors.

Went to speak to them and they showed me their invoice, got home looked at my invoice it isn't there! Why would Paul write it down as busted when I would already know it was broken. I just came from emissions and opened it myself, so no it was not already busted. Low class people and experience. Deborah Penn you suck as a manager may karma help you too. Deborah the manager has called to correct the situation after my Yelp review. They still say it came in broken but have offered to pay for the part.

    Oil on the driveway. Ugh…read more Called some friends to get a recommendation for a local shop. One said that Scott from Sunland was the guy. We had the car towed over (2018 Ford Fusion Hybrid), and they diagnosed the problem and repaired the issue quickly and at a fair price. Unfortunately, the tech made a small mistake and once we got the car home, there was more oil on the driveway and a check engine light. Ugh, again. So we called back to Scott to see what he wanted us to do. We understand that sometimes mistakes are made and issues arise. How a business owner handles those issues are the difference between good businesses and great ones. This is a great one. Scott was MUCH more upset than we were! He got us back in same day and fixed the issue at no charge! (We should have paid for a necessary part, but he would not charge us.) With everything so expensive these days, and everyone trying to stretch a buck, it's hard to know if you're leaving your car with someone who cares about it as much as you do. Scott does. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough!

The driver had seen him ticketing someone earlier. This was the third time he saw him in that area. I tend to have a lead foot. Possibly saved from a traffic ticket on the way home as I drove slower than normal on that day. Besides the work being done, I asked if the air filter could be checked. I had went to Take 5 for an oil change a few months earlier. As I sat in my car at Take 5 after the oil was changed, I heard banging and the car was shaking. They didn't have my size air filter in stock and had to force my old one back in the car. Steve at Sunland later said my air filter was the correct size and was very clean. No need for replacement. I was pleasantly surprised. Scott, the owner was very helpful explaining what was needed to fix my car. Fair prices and great service. Sunland Auto Service is my new go to for my auto needs in the future.
