After years of visiting Sanibel Island, we finally stopped in to Jerry's. The entrance to the market itself is very interesting with a outdoor courtyard filled with many large, beautiful tropical birds in cages. Birds in cages aside, Jerry knows what's up when it comes to food!! Super delicious freshly baked goods in his bakery area. We opted to pickup a few homemade cookies for our super long road trip back to Toronto which were coconut chocolate chip, peanut butter, ginger, and M&M. All were totally delish. We also only wanted to purchase one croissant (I know we are those people) and the gentleman in the bakery was kind enough to open a box of four for us to pick one out of as he had run out of singles. Thank you, kind sir. Nice selection of unique gourmet foods with a good sized produce area and awesome choices for local craft beer to go. We will be back for sure next time we are on the Island. Jerry's and the attached plaza are great places to visit upon checking in to Sanibel for the week. The grocery store is kind of pricey, but to be expected on the island of Sanibel. I have been coming to this plaza since I was a small child and this is still a fun place as an adult. The parrots are the best part of visiting Jerry's. They laugh and some even chatter a bit. One of the parrots will even mimic your laugh if you are lucky. Before you go into Jerry's, I recommend browsing in the souvenir shops and picking up some postcards. This plaza is a must for those visiting Sanibel Island! read more

Everything about this place is wonderful! It's a grocery store, diner, coffee shop! All separate, but in under the same roof. The people are friendly, kind, and helpful! I had coffee from the coffee bar, - so good! My kids ate the baked goods. My husband and I ordered fish tacos and a Rachel. So good! Maybe I was starving, but it was great! Oh the fries too, so yummy! Everyone in masks. The salad bar was open. I thought that was odd in a COVID environment... BUT they had signs and provided gloves for those who wanted to get salad bar. They were great at enforcing COVID protocol! Making sure people who entered had in masks. Ok this is was cool! I bought some water and OJ at the grocery store part, and a 12 pack. Not thinking about all those stairs in the charming garden area. How was I going to carry all my loot to the car!?!? Oh they solved for that! There is a conveyer belt! They gave me a number, I drove to the parcel pickup and opened my trunk! A masked worker placed my groceries in the car! It was so cool! The area has a few other shops. Jerry's has long had an innovative approach to delivering your groceries to your car by conveyor belt. During the Covid-19 Pandemic the Jerry's delivery service has been terrific and indispensable. Unexpected deliciousness and once again incredibly friendly service from a Sanibel establishment. We stayed in the island and biked over for breakfast. It's close to what you'd expect for a cafe tied to the Market. That said the food was fresh and delicious. They had great servers! Ekaterina was such a dear and really anticipated needs. You'll pay food the convenience but it's very very convenient and they have pretty much whatever you'll need for cooking up something wonderful while you're on the island. Nice produce and meat and a vast wine selection. If you have a cart full of stuff they'll run it down on a conveyor ABC's have you pull around the parking lot for your "parcel pickup". We stop by Jerry's every time we visit Sanibel. This grocery store carries an excellent selection of prepared foods, groceries and snacks. The bakery section always smells amazing so I'd advise avoiding this area unless you are prepared to buy some donuts or fresh baked bread! The produce selection is small, but covers all the basics and lets be honest; I'm just here for lemons and limes for my cocktails! There are bigger grocery stores on the mainland, but this is a solid option if you want to buy some groceries on the island. Tip: check out the cages of colorful parrots and parakeets that line the shopping pavilion. read more

A decent if expensive local supermarket on Sanibel. The selections of produce, deli, meats, seafood, wines, beer, other packaged items make for one-stop shopping ease. My preference is to shop off island first but when here on vacation and needing more food, Jerry's is fine. Parrots on way in are a unique feature. read more

Cafe is good, waitresses were all friendly, spoke to the kids, smiled. I would go back. Grocery store had lots of employees, no one said hi, no one smiled. I was waiting at the deli and some guy came over from the front of the store and asked me what I needed and proceeded to tell me he didn't know where the deli worker went? But they he just started slicing my food, never washed his hands. I was so mortified, I know I should have said something but I was just in awe. So then a woman came over and was asking where the deli worker went and they were going on about the guy who was supposed to be there and then she started slicing as well. Now she had gloves on, but she walked over from stocked the cold area in front of the deli with those same gloves on. I paid for the cheese and turkey and when I got home I just threw them away, I should know better, Baileys is always better customer service and selection but Jerry's is closer to our house so we went there. Just make the drive to Baileys. I'll try Jerry's again next summer and hopefully it will be better. read more

Went there specifically for a key lime pie such a cool grocery with a definite island vibe going on love it!! Key lime is best on island!

Tried Reuben and fries and Mango avocado turkey burger with potato salad. Fries were good. Reuben and turkey burger were very average. Potato salad was below average and needed salt. Service and atmosphere was good. read more

Great grocery store stocked with all of the staples and some yummy surprises too. Met all of our vacation needs!

We really like the convenience of Jerry's but the customer service in the deli is mind numbing! Three women standing in the rear of the deli (12:30 pm) and six people in line to be waited on and they were talking about something but could have cared less about waiting on anyone! Had had to speak up to break up their very important conversation. This is not the first time it's happened! The store is very clean and the other employees are nice. During our week on Sanibel Island, we ended up eating at Jerry's cafe four times. Why? The food was dependable and consistent, and we never had to wait in long lines. Also, we could eat there and have conversations without having to yell to be heard over a crowd. For simple food, this is a good option. I particularly like the straightforwardness of their burger (two thin patties on a delicious bun that tasted homemade), though we missed the addition of pickles (being from the Northeast, we like pickles). The French fries were actually among the best I've ever had. It seems like they put something on them that gave them a little extra crunch on the outside. Another memorable item was the key lime pie, which they make themselves. It was wonderfully creamy, with a very crumbly, buttery graham cracker crust. I wish I'd had a chance to try their chocolate cake, which is served in slices so massive that they're almost intimidating. Maybe next time! read more

We were in Sanibel when a huge storm hit, so we took advantage of Jerry's covered parking and covered boardwalks to do some shopping. The storm refused to let up and it was getting to be lunch time, so we decided to just eat in the restaurant inside Jerry's grocery store. We weren't expecting much from a grocery store restaurant but were very pleasantly surprised by the great food and service. We all ordered the soup and salad bar. The soups were great, the veggies on the salad bar were very fresh, and the bar also featured a large olive bar which was also delicious. Jerry's was a very pleasant surprise. A perfect place for a good, quick lunch. read more

Jerry's Foods is okay. I really thought it would have more. It is a grocery store with a little restaurant café inside. You park in the covered garage which is nice to avoid the hot sun and the crazy rain. You can not bring the carts up and down the stairs but they have a service where they bring your cart down, and there is someone there for you to pick it up in your car. They do not want you to tip also They have some ready made foods like Rotiserrie chicken and the sides, but aside from that, it is the usual grocery stuff. I thought it was going to be like a Whole Foods where they had more foods to eat and go, but it is not. read more

Parrots! And groceries. But parrots! Prices are a bit higher than your usual grocery store, but you probably could've guessed that. They have just about everything you could need here - just like your regular grocery stores do back at home. If you're buying a lot, they have this weird chute system that shuttles your purchases down, where you then drive around and pick them up. Keeps the carts out of the lot, I guess. Decent beer selection. On our last day, I decided to grill up some burgers. Bought 4 from the meat department, then went to the deli for 4 slices of cheese. The lady gave me an eye-roll, then proceeded to cut the thickest four slices of all time. It came out to nearly half a pound of cheese, in four slices. I had to laugh at that scam. read more

Jerry's has a wonderful restaurant that serves good food. Waitresses are friendly and prompt with everything you need. However the air conditioning is blasting on you and makes the food & coffee cold too quickly. Would be 5 stars if not for that. Bring a sweater and maybe they could heat the plates or turn down the AC. Highly recommend the French toast and burritos. read more

Stopped on a chilly Friday afternoon after biking the paths of the island, and enjoyed a hot chocolate, a delicious Turkey Club and hot, crispy french fries. I really enjoyed the food, the cafeteria-style restaurant which was recently remodeled and looks great. Will definitely return again! read more

Nice find and a neat, unique concept... A sit down, table service restaurant inside of a grocery store! We stopped for breakfast while riding our bikes on the island. Surrounded by lots of tropical plants and Windows galore! Several tropical birds in cages as you walk in to exchange a quick 'hello' with :-) Service... Quick and friendly Food... Egg scrambler with Swiss, ham and spinach on a croissant was delicious combination Decent coffee (they leave a little carafe for you on the table, which is nice) ... And, we get to pick up some groceries on the way out! read more

Go to Jerry's for the bakery -- this is the place to order a birthday cake or buy challah or their delicious cinnamon bread. Skip the meat and seafood counters and go to Bailey's instead. The produce here is mediocre, a slight step down from Bailey's and nothing like the farmer's market. read more

This place is inside Jerry's grocery store, there are floor-to-ceiling windows so you can enjoy the tropical flora outside. Really nice way to start the day off. There are even in parrots and cockatiels (caged) in the courtyard before you enter the store. Good breakfast food (I came here three times for breakfast), slow, nonexistent service in a pretty bright and airy space. Tables and booth seats aren't always properly wiped down but its probably bc they're so busy and like to sit a table as soon as its empty. I've only had the breakfast menu but everything is pretty solid. The croissant sandwich (with sausage or bacon) stood out, eggs Benedict was a popular dish, and the OJ was good. read more

Best breakfast! Wait till you taste their pecan wood-smoked bacon. They're open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but my favorite is breakfast. For lunch, their salad bar is amazing. They have soups too, and a large variety of toppings - all you can eat for like $9.99. Every night is a different dinner special as well (like Prime Rib night). You've got to try it. read more

This was our first time on Sanibel Island. We looked up several places to try for breakfast and decided this was the first place we would go. It is an oddity because the restaurant is within a grocery store. We were seated and hubs ordered the Hasher and I ordered the eggs Benedict with fruit. The poached eggs on both our plates were perfect. Everything was good, fresh and hot. The coffee came in a carafe so you didn't have to wait for a refill. My fruit was the only disappointment. A few soft grapes, cantaloupe and honeydew. If you like being called kids by your waitress, it's a great place to eat. read more

Went here as second choice since Geppetto's was locked up tight for some reason. Was going to dine at the restaurant until we saw the prices. It was clean and neat and the grocery prices were probably typical for a ritzy Island. Bought some bakery items, maple glazed bacon donut, chocolate peanut butter patty and croissant cup, which were all mediocre. VP Pence had just been to the island. Since I went to high school with him maybe next time we will check out one of his favorite places to dine. read more
