Mark is the best dog walker we have ever had. He treats our dog Sammy like he would his own and is very sweet and caring with him. True story: Mark once fought off a raccoon that attacked Sammy in the middle of the day during a walk and was much more concerned about Sammy being ok than himself. He is conscientious, great with animals, and takes wonderful photos. Everyone we have recommended Mark to has been very happy with him. My special needs pup hand-selected Mark one day nearly two years ago by jumping all over him during a walk. Our "corporate" walking service had permanently shuttered without notice, leaving us out in the cold. When I apologized for his conduct, Mark replied "no problem--I take care of animals for a living." I promptly took Mark's business card and he's been nothing short of a lifesaver ever since. Overnights, mid-day walks, longterm stays, Mark does it all, including feedings and prompt updates with photos. For a long time, I despaired of finding a person I could really trust my 7yo male cat Ender with. He's an indoor-outdoor cat with a large personality and needs lots of love and attention if he's left at home alone for too long by himself. I've had people turn me down because they don't want to be responsible for a cat that might run away, and I've had people miss days of feeding, and people that have let an eye infection go on that cost me a lot at the vet after. With Mark, there's no need for any worry. He was late to our first meeting, but once I saw him with Ender I knew that I would always be calling him if I needed someone to take care of my cat for a few days. Ender loves him dearly, especially because Mark takes the time to meticulously brush him and clean his litter box. Every single day Mark comes by, he sends an update as well as a photo. We used Mark to take care of our two cats, Penny and Watson, while we lived in Jersey City over the course of a four year period (we just moved out of JC September 2017). Mark is simply amazing. When he first came to meet with us, he asked a lot of questions about food and medications, habits, and favorite toys. Every time he came back, he always had the right information and followed up if he had any questions. Our cats were also obsessed with him - one time he came over to grab keys for an upcoming trip and our two cats ran over to him meowing and excited to see him. That means he actually cares for them and plays with them while we're gone - it's more than just feeding them and cleaning their littler box. Mark is also extremely trustworthy so we had no problem gifting him a spare set of keys to our apartment. He always provides photos, often accompanied by funny captions and commentary. We always look forward to receiving the photos of our babies while we're traveling. He's also extremely reliable and there was even a few instances where I forgot to tell him we were going away until short notice, but he was always accommodating and kind. It was honestly a huge relief to have Mark as our cat sitter and he will be hard to replace in our new town. read more

Mark is honestly, truly the best. Our cat Elliot is not fond of everyone, and has a pretty big personality. He also can be pretty anxious after we have been away. Mark made all of that so much easier. Ever since having Mark care for Elliot twice a day while away, he is perfectly fine while we are gone, and is in great spirits when we return! Elliot took to him very quickly and we have been using him for the last few years. Anywhere from one night up to about 4 nights. Mark always shows up for visits in a timely manor, spends some time playing with Elliot or just spends some time on the couch- he always follows up with a thoughtful update message and photo with each visit, and always leaves everything cleaned up and neat. My puppy was trapped in his crate for 8 hours because Mark didn't show up and never notified us. If he just gave me one call or text, I could've called my friend to at least give my puppy dinner and let him out of his crate to potty. But apparently his other clients are so valuable to him that he will just go look after their pets and will not say a word until next morning telling me that "mistakes happen". I understand it happens that someone just simply doesn't want my business. But can you just tell me? Ghosting and lying about the visits that never occurred is not something a person that I trust my home's key does. I know this review probably will not affect his business because he prioritizes old clients. Apparently according to the reviews, he is the greatest since sliced bread. But if you are new to this, at least rethink about the genuineness of all 5-star reviews. Mark was an amazing find for our three cats!! Was always available on the days we were requesting and so quick to respond! While we were away, he'd spend 30 minutes taking care of any specifics we gave and made sure to give them plenty of love and attention.
