After moving to NJ from Philly I've learned that trying to find a good cheesesteak here is like trying to find an immigrant at a Donald Trump rally. It's been difficult task trying to find one worth it's weight in gold whiz, let alone finding one close to where I live in Berlin. It took me a year and a half, but I finally did it. These guys know how to make a great steak. First, you notice the size of it-- it's on the larger side so you definitely won't be complaining about that. They serve it on a seeded roll, which means they're going the extra mile! The steak itself was cooked nicely and had plenty of flavor complimented with fried onions. Great sandwhiches. However Jersey Joe's is now ripping you off. When they first opened they were making footlong hoagies and also stacking on the meat. Half a sandwhich was more then enough but for $7 bucks you only could get a hole. I have the original menus in less then about a year and half the prices have increased multiple times, in addition Jersey Joe's is using smaller hoagie rolls and putting less meat on the sandwhiches. Smart- Make great sandwhich packed with meat to get people in, but don't think we don't know your raising prices while giving smaller sandwhich and smaller roles. The sandwiches I've had were always big and delicious. Id probably go a bit more if I lived closer but nevertheless I have my likes, dislikes and indifferences about the place. LIKES -Their hot sandwiches are always big, stuffed and delicious. I have never ordered any of their cold sandwiches because I was recommended to try their cheesesteak and when I find something I like, I stick to it usually. Just yesterday I had their buffalo chicken cutlet (one of my favorite sandwiches besides chicken and regular cheesesteaks). It was really really good. Definitely the best I have tried in the area since Outta Philly in Voorhees closed. -I like that its a normal and nice shop. I respect the hard working south jersey man and woman who don't cut corners on quality. That being said... DISLIKES -Ive been there about 5 times. I will put it bluntly since that is their style, they are ball busters. I have been the spectator in the ball busting and the recipient and the blue collar philly/sj attitude shines through a lot. Rude? Some may say so. I can take the abuse but many cant. 80% of the time they are really good to you. I put this under dislikes only because I think they cross the line sometimes. - Price for sandwiches. 9 bucks for a big cutlet sandwich isn't ridiculous but its not great either. Yes I have paid more but that was in Philly and this place is 20 miles outside of Philly. INDIFFERENT -No cards, only a slight pain but really its no big deal. -They don't cut sandwiches in half from what I have heard. Cheesesteaks are incredibly good, easily the best I've come across in south jersey, and I even prefer them over some of their Philly counterparts. Onion rings are also incredible. Some of these reviews complain about the staff. I haven't had any bad experiences in the 10 or so times I've been there, I just go in, get my food and leave. I can see how the staff could rub people the wrong way, but if you just want good sandwiches, this is the place for you. read more

The first reason for the two star review was cash only. This is 2017 and who really carries cash on them anymore. There is an ATM in there that charges $2.00 on top of the already inflated prices of the sandwiches there. I got an Italian hoagie and it had one slice of romaine on it for the lettuce. One slice of romaine doesn't give you enough crunch on the sandwich. It tasted ok though. Not bad, but not spectacular enough to make me pay $7.50 for the hoagie again. My husband got the Diablo chicken cutlet I think it was called. He said it tasted good but was disappointed by the amount of meat on the sandwich. He got broccoli rabe on it and that was .50 cents extra making the total $9.50 for his sandwich. Not worth the price in my opinion. We won't be going back. So it's a 2 star review for cash only policy, fees on the ATM, over priced sandwiches that were average. The staff was nice though. But there is no bathroom inside so dining in is not very pleasant. read more

Jersey Joe's staff is a bunch of arrogant south philly guys that claim that their food and cheesesteaks are "The Best" and they go out of their way to brainwash their customers into believing it. In reality the food is bland, the rolls fall apart because they aren't fresh, onion rings are like Styrofoam, chicken parm sandwich had no marinara, and cheesesteaks are more grease and bread than steak.. Hoagies and sandwiches are good. Claims to have the "best Cheesesteaks" and its far from that, same as everywhere else. Good food mostly. However its not welcoming, you are made to feel as though your a bother to the workers. And the the owner is so arrogant and rude. Typical "im better than you" new yorker. I recently tried the sandwiches here based on a recommendation that they had the best sandwiches in the area. I ordered a chicken cutlet with sharp provolone and roasted long hots. The sandwich was definitely good! It had a good amount of chicken breast and it was sliced so it was easier to heat than a sandwich with whole chicken cutlets on it. The sharp provolone was so good! I wish there was a little more on the sandwich. The sandwich had just the right amount of heat with the long hots, and it was served on a sesame seed roll. I also tried the potato salad which was not good at all, and the tortellini salad which was tasted too much like vinegar. The salads did not seem to be home made and were a little pricey. I also did not like the fact that you have to pay with cash here. I was not able to use my debit card to pay which was a little inconvenient. I will definitely go back though and next time I want to try a lunch meat sandwich! read more

ok this was my first visit and I really went out of my way to get here but I wanted a hoagie so...this review will have to be done in several parts because I bought several sandwiches...the place itself is very small and perhaps only a couple people could actually sit in here and eat...they have cold beverages - mainly Franks sodas in a variety of flavors - they offer no fountain beverages - they have several small bags of chips available for purchase with their food...it was clean enough but tight...they only take cash - they have an ATM but says it charges a 2 dollar fee (bank statement says it charged 3 dollars) - my first review will be of their roast pork sandwich...it is served on a sesame seed roll - the roll was very fresh (Primos are always hard as a rock)...I asked if it was pulled pork and was told yes - it was pulled pork and that they had made it themselves...well it was not pulled pork but rather pork lunch meat - sure they fried it up and made it hot but it was still lunch meat and they most certainly did not make it themselves...they applied a thin layer of au jus gravy - not enough to make the roll wet...the first bite I found very tasty but after that it became the saltiest sandwich I had ever had...there were four individuals working - two young men - an old woman and some guy who was sitting back in a corner telling everyone else what to do...he sat by the only door (exit) and made me feel very uncomfortable...the old lady got flustered with my order and gave me to one of the younger men...both young men were very courteous and polite...again this was just the first of about eight sandwiches I will be adding to this review - so Italian Roast Pork with Provolone - avoid if you are on a low sodium diet or if you just do not like a very salty sandwich. cost 8.75 - receipt says Vernaccho's Deli & Produce outlet 600 Warwick rd Hi-Nella Shopping Center Both the Meatball and Steak Sandwiches were great...packed with meat and flavor - both cost 8.75 a piece...had them with an order of fries and an order of onion rings 3.99 and 4.99 - all of which I would purchase again. A sandwich they call the Rocket - ham and turkey - charged 7.75 - no flavor at all A standard Italian hoagie - which I specifically said "soggy with vinegar" was dry - had to apply my own vinegar when I arrived home...nothing to write home about...actually the lettuce they used in both the Rocket and the Italian was dry and hard - it was romaine so there is to be some crunch but the base of the green you could not even chew through and therefore the green was removed from the sandwich and tossed...they simply lay a leaf onto the roll - not torn or ripped pieces - just a leaf so you can remove it without disturbing the sandwich. - cost 8.75 so the long and short of it is this - the cheese steak and meatball sandwiches both were worth the price and would be recommended but the rest was definitely not worth the time and trouble - beverages were 2.00 a bottle.
