Every Jersey Mike's location I've ever been to has been solid, and the Centerville location was no exception. I went on their Day of Giving a few weeks ago in March, and the parking lot was overflowing into the next lot, and the line was to the door. I placed my order to go via the app and it quoted me 30 mins. I walked in at about 25 mins and my food was ready to go on their pick-up shelf. If you're not familiar with their Day of Giving, look it up! All JM locations pick one day every year to donate 100% of their proceeds to a specific charity. This year was the Special Olympics and they raised about $20M. Also be sure to download their app. You build points for free items, and get a free sub on your birthday. I have been to this location twice now. In general, the folks behind the counter are nice, and the sandwiches are fresh. You can get either cold or hot subs, chips, and a fountain drink. Your standard fare for a sandwich shop, with their selling point that everything is made fresh, not even cutting the meat until you order. And they have the TV tuned to ESPN so that you can watch some sports while you eat. This is a convenient location for me as I use the library next door frequently. I really only have two concerns. First, for the number of people behind the counter, things don't seem to be extremely efficient. Maybe it is just my timing but I now have been here once before and once after lunch rush. Second, I strongly object to being asked if I want to tip for counter service. I really don't understand this trend in these sorts of restaurants. I order at the counter, pick up my own food, and clean up after myself. Why isn't all the other functions that the employees perform covered in the salary that the restaurant owner pays? The owner is asking me to pay 10% more on my bill for service? Why don't they just pay these folks upfront and increase the prices accordingly? read more

Always good, I've been going here for ages and I won't stop coming back. The staff is incredible and the food is even more incredible. The juices fill my mouth like the taste of a goddess spitting down my throat. The fresh baked bread makes it taste like I have been stranded and it's the first thing I've ever eaten. They just cut the corner of my bread and piled everything on top and just wrapped it up. I had to go up and ask for a knife and fork to eat it and explained why I needed it. No apology or offer to remake it, just gave me a knife and fork. The soda machine had no carbonation. I told them, they acknowledged it and told someone to go fix it, which never happened but they continued to sell drinks, flat syrup water I mean. They were like 12 to 15 people in line and I have no idea what took so long to make my order but I didn't have time to wait for it due to a commitment. Visited the location on Rte. 725 this evening. Came in at 8:50 pm. I know they close at 9pm The counter person took my order and then informed me that it was too close to 9pm for them to make anything so we were refused service. If they have no intention of serving food until they close they should put a sign on the door saying when food service stops. Just had my first experience at a Jersey Mike's, and what a good choice it was! I got #2 (I think it's called the Jersey Shore something) which consisted of fresh sliced ham and cheese. Yes, you read that right. Sliced deli fresh for my sandwich. You could taste the freshness in all the ingredients. I tried it "Mike's Way" with lettuce, tomatoes, I swapped onions for pickles, and a dash of seasonings and red wine vinaigrette. Very tasty! The restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. Great food and great people! You wouldn't think a place like this (national or regional) would remember your name but they do here! I work up the street and go in at least every other week, if not more, and the service is always exceptional. I've noticed they hold fundraisers and benefits for charities quite often as well which goes a long way I feel. This is about as good as it gets if you know about NJ and south Philly hoagies. The Italian Mikes way is the best. A little less lettuce please, and some hot peppers top it off just right.
