Never in a million years would I think that I'd be rating a corporate chain 5 stars ... however, as a frequent visitor to Rhode Island, I have not found many sub shops of note. I needed a quick sandwich when I found myself in East Greenwich, RI visiting a friend and he recommended this place. "Are you sure there isn't somewhere more ... local?", I asked. "Trust me. You'll like it.", he said. The subs here aren't cheap. $10 - $12 for a 'regular sized' sub ... and $18 - $20 for a 'huge' sub. The regular sized sub is smaller than most local sub shops by about 1/4. I was a little disappointed when I saw the size vs. the price. After finishing it, honestly, I think I could have eaten 1/4 more and been full vs. feeling like I needed a little something else after finishing the 'regular'. It's hard to describe the size here ... I'd say it's in between a small and regular-size anywhere else. The actual sub was fantastic. I did the Mike's Way Italian Sub, minus onions, add pickles. They slice the cold cuts by hand for each sub ... which means they are not dry ... but, keep in mind that, unlike Subway, where subs are made quick but the ingredients have been sitting out all day ... these taste like the ones in NJ where it is unheard of not to slice the meat fresh. It does take some extra time ... so be prepared to wait if there is a line. I went into the store and there were 2 people ahead of me. I was in and out in 15 minutes ... kind of a long time for 2 subs, but the quality was indicative of the care in preparation. The cold cuts here were flavorful and the lettuce was crisp and fresh. The bread was good ... not overwhelming from a taste perspective and allowed the cold cuts to be the star of the show. The veggies tasted fresh and aside from being a little too wet with oil and vinegar for my liking, it was one of the better Italian subs that I've had. Their rewards program is complete trash! It is impossible to figure out ... you have all kinds of sign-in issues ... and the first time discount coupon of 10% off didn't work. Eventually, after waiting for 20 minutes to order and have my subs made, I told them to forget about it and ate the 10%. Two subs came to over $20 ... and drinks were almost $4 each ... so Two subs and two sodas was around $32 with tip/tax. For this reason, I probably wouldn't return here too often. If you are looking for a fresh tasting sub with better than normal ingredients, this is your spot! Danny DeVito must be laughing all the way to the bank because I see these shops everywhere lately! This location is great. Their sandwiches are consistently good, they always get my customized orders correct from the app, and they're quick. In store pickup is easy because the bags are right next to the register, or you could do curbside pickup right in front of the store - they're friendly with that too. There is an older lady that works there who does not know how to practice sanitary standards. I ended up leaving because she tried to make my sandwich with gloves that she was using to cash people out and touching the computer. I went in today, September 11, 2023 at around 3:15pm. The two women working completely messed up mine and my partner's order; and when we mentioned that they had messed up, they looked at us like we were an inconvenience. They never offered to remake our sandwiches, and they just packed our orders and sent us on our way. I don't know if it's a lack of training or just a lack of care for the customer. Re-train these employees or let them go. We are unable to eat our sandwiches because we have no idea what's on them, and due to mental health issues we aren't even going to be making the attempt to open the sandwiches. I'll be getting a refund through my bank, and unfortunately this food is going to be thrown away and wasted. Do not go here. read more

I've ordered from Jersey Mike's before, and I've always been satisfied. I ordered a tuna sub and a club supreme curbside. I arrive five minutes early so I reported that I was there and waited five minutes and then waited another five minutes. It was now 220 My order was for 215. I called and asked them about my order. The associate said he would be out with my order. Another five minutes ago and buy it. I still did not have my order. At 2:30 I tried to call again, but the associate came out with my order. Honestly, I had no idea there was a Jersey Mike's Subs in downtown East Greenwich! I found them by accident as I was driving by there around 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon, looking for something to eat. Now, that is an odd time to eat, but since JM's is known for its freshness, I had no qualms about eating there at that hour, so it was rather fortuitous stumbling upon this location. This location is part of a large plaza anchored by CVS. It's very long and narrow inside, with only a few booths and a Spartan ambiance, so it's really geared more for takeout, which was my plan anyway. There were three young female employees on duty this afternoon, and all were very upbeat, despite the fact it had rained all day. I ordered my go-to sandwich, an Italian grinder, in regular (medium) size, and an employee sliced the meats for my sandwich so quickly it would put a Stop & Shop deli worker to shame. One thing I found a bit odd, though, is that she appeared to grab the bread right from the counter, near the slicer, as if it had been waiting there who knows how long for the next customer. My hunch may have been right, because although the bread was not stale, it wasn't as fresh as it could have been, either. The rest of the sandwich was fine, though. Jersey Mike's is decent, although a little pricey for what it is, in my opinion. What's worse is that I felt ambushed when I went to pay with my debit card. The cashier said, "The display is going to ask you a question." It felt more like an apologetic warning, than a simple informational statement. I was slightly taken aback before I even looked at the display, and then downright annoyed when I looked and saw that the question was, "Do you want to leave a tip?" with buttons for varying percentages. I did leave a tip; although the service was good, I was a little resentful, because I felt slightly guilt-shamed into doing it. Just went back the other day to use my free sub when you make a $2 donation to charity coupon (promotion ends today 3/20/17) This location is brand new, clean and serving delicious subs. We got 2 of the cheesesteaks which were both DELICIOUS. The Italian grinders are huge and loaded with all sorts of goodies. The staff are still learning, however the manager keeps them on their toes and works harder than most managers I see. She is right there with them, helping customers, slicing bread and meats, chopping beef on the hot top while reminding her staff to answer the phone and teaching them how to put in coupons etc. Kudos to Jersey Mike's for hiring such a stellar manager! I wish this place was around when I was growing up in CT. These subs are quick like other chains however they are real deal, using quality fresh ingredients. read more

Don't bother with this place. It's a long line of people buying overpriced and low quality sandwiches. If you try to skip the line by buying online, lol, then it becomes even worse.... The system tells you to "go to the designated area" (it doesn't exist!). What you have to actually do is stand by the register and attempt to interrupt the current customers transaction and get someone to search for your order hidden over the grill! Funny thing is, the people next to the register are reluctant to acknowledge you over the current customer they are speaking with (not the employees fault!) - so it's a comical battle of the order line getting their stuff and the online people searching for the "designated area" (which doesn't exist!). Then... if you attempt to email the order system to say "hey, i cannot get my sandwich from this place" - it responds "You have been flagged as spam" - if you email that email it responds "postmaster error 500". Worst Jersey Mike's location in my opinion I've been to yet. I've been to quite a few of these and you're always going to have some locations that are better than others, but this ones just not good. As far as quality of the food goes it's good, as it is in all other locations. My issue here is the amount of food they actually put in the sandwich/wrap. I was initially pumped when this spot opened. Since it opened I've been in with 3 different colleagues for lunch, and all 3 of them refuse to come back here because they skimp out so much on the meat. As far as quality fast casual food goes this place is firing on all cylinders, they just recently opened to the public but boy did they hit the ground running. I've been there twice already and the food comes out so fresh you need to let the sun cool before you can dig in, the staff is friendly, talkative and tries to be personable while keeping the sandwich line moving at an impressive pace! The seating area here is a little cozy but Defoe rly not cramped and the location has access to one of the few parking lots in the area (yahoo! I love not parking on the street!) This place got bonus points in my book when they put together a free sub program for their first week or two that simply required a coupon and a donation to an unaffiliated charitable cause. They specifically chose a local east Greenwich one as well, which really struck me as above and beyond. Overall, Jersey Mike's is the best chain restaurant for fresh subs. Meat and cheese is sliced to order right in front of you, and the quality of ingredients is impressive for the price point. The Main St. location is my favorite due to the cleanliness and attentive customer service. I've been to this location many times, and I have never experienced anything less than a squeaky clean store and friendly faces to greet me at the door, or even remember my order by heart. Do not do mobile order I sat there for over 45 minutes waiting for my mobile order that was supposed to be done half an hour ago. Is people walked in to order in store and walked out 5 minutes after this location has gone absolutely too shit do not go to this place they also ignore you when you ask how much longer it's gonna take for your food. Normally I would give this restaurant two stars, however I found the need to head over to d'angelos for lunch today to compare the two restaurants. Unfortunately this location is very far from that. I visited this location just a few days ago and ordered a "regular" size roast beef and provolone. I was confused when the man working the slicer grabbed such a tiny roll. He placed a couple of pieces of cheese on it and some roast beef. I did not know what was going on but I assumed they were making me a "small" sub. When I got to the register an employee rang me up for a regular sub. It cost over $8 for a tiny roast beef sub that you could fit into a plastic ziploc sandwich bag. The sandwich was OK tasting, I mean it was a roast beef and provolone.. not much there you can mess up. Forward to today... I stopped into a local d'angelos for a comparison, just to make sure I am not going crazy. I ordered the $8 sub not sure if it was large or regular.. but it came out to just over 8 bucks, the same as jersey mikes. It was a roast beef and provolone it tasted like a roast beef and provolone sub. The crazy thing here though is that it was over DOUBLE the size as the same sub I just got from jersey mikes a few days before. How can this be? I don't know... whats even more confusing to me is the fact that people on yelp have decided this location is worth "4 1/2 stars". For the record I still haven't rated d'angelos.. I won't waste my time. Like I said earlier it's an average sub shop, and if you live in RI or southern MA you know that. Another wonderful Jersey Mike's in RI, located right in the heart of downtown East Greenwich. It is certainly a great place for those who work and/or shop in the delightful area of Main Street. Hmm, shall we select from cold subs, hot subs, wraps, kid's meals? What is fantastic is that they offer a mini size, which is great for those, like myself, who struggle to finish a regular. And, of course, they offer the regular size sub as well as the giant. However, what is noteworthy is that the meats are sliced right there in front of you - always fresh and one bite tells it all. The great selection of sandwiches makes it difficult to choose, but there are seven days in a week, so I recommend trying a different one each day and then return for your favorites!! The spotless venue also offers a large selection of accompanying chips and great desserts - the brownie was absolutely scrumptious, rich-tasting and moist. The choices for drinks include a number of sodas as well as sweetened and unsweetened teas. Also remember that Jersey Mike's will cater as well - sounds wonderful, doesn't it? good. I've been to the original Jersey Mikes in PP NJ. Going way back. So this is in comparison to the original, and also to some of the follow on franchises (like LBI) along the jersey shore. In my opinion the operation as they have commercialized it for franchisees is just OK. They skimp on the meat on the sandwiches and the service is flat out slow. I don't know, I guess making a sub and fine tuning the serving process just requires a knack and experience. The young kids that they try to train to do it just don't have the sense of urgency. You get a half hour or an hour for lunch so you don't want to spend 15 minutes waiting in line to have a simple #2 built. Adding to their basic menu doesn't help. I guess you have to offer other things besides basic cold cut subs to satisfy the market, but it slows down the overall execution of the business. I don't think it was worth it. As they've made the business it seems that Mike's is just a notch above Subway. Not bad, could be better. read more

Went to the new location in East Greenwich today with some friends and was very disappointed. The place was dirty and the staff seemed very unorganized. One employee was sweeping the floor and just left a large pile of dirt and garbage on the floor near the tables. The tables and chairs were also dirty. The ordering area is very tight narrow. Also the temperature was so cold we rushed eating just to leave. Overall this was not a good experience and I probably will never go back. Actually the last few times we went to the other two locations in Warwick we had bad experiences as well.. similar issues, dirty and cold uncomfortable temperature. Hopefully the managers will read these comments and will do something about it. read more
