I don't expect over the top customer service when entering a fast food sandwich chain. But I do expect mediocre service. Meaning somewhat pleasant employees. The employees were rude, disrespectful and short. They looked and acted miserable. The lady who was taking orders and working the meat machine, was not only EXTREMELY RUDE (which would be an understatement) she did not change her gloves when she went from cutting meat to writing down orders. I am actually shocked about the experience I had yesterday at Jersey Mike's. I had never had Jersey Mike's until yesterday, it was my first and last time. I walked in and two very kind women were extremely helpful and nice while making our food. The thing was they only had displayed 5 toppings, and there's like 5-6 more toppings that were hidden and many sauce that were also hidden so we had to ask for toppings like it was a guessing game to see what they had. Anyways it was fine, until we got to the counter. We realized we didn't put cheese on our sandwich because we forgot to make the guess. So I kindly asked them to give us some cheese slices to go so we could put it in ourselves. She told another woman, who rolled her eyes at us, and gave us 10 slices wrapped up in one wrap. We asked if she could separate it and she slams it on the register telling her other coworker "She could take care of that" and angrily walks away. Decided to visit this Gardena location after my visit to Yogurtland in the shopping center. I was not happy with the service here at all. The food quality met the standards of Jersey Mike's but it just seems like the employee on Saturday the 28th in the evening around 5pm just wasn't a happy camper employee. My son and I walked in and I don't remember a greeting, I finally got to place my order but another customer (male customer) walks in during the process and the employee took his order along with mine to process. I've never encountered having to wait for another customer who entered after me for them to place an order and have their sandwich made while I wait. Why take my order if I have to wait for you to take additional orders and fulfill them before you ring/finalize my sale. I wanted to get a meal but by the time he made me wait I just wanted to walk out with nothing so I just purchased the sandwich and then took my son to Wendy's for a complete kids meal. I'm so frustrated because I have never seen this happen. I felt let's try this location because the Gardena location on Redondo Beach is always without power. This location just opened and I understand they are trying to figure things out. This is the second time I've been there since they opened and I thought the first time may have been because it was so new. The first time I ordered a hot sandwich and a cold sandwich. The hot sandwich took about 30 minutes. The second time I went there it about four people at the cash register to figure out how to input somebody's order while the line was piling up. I never give a review under 3 stars because I don't want to make myself sound like a cruel person, but this place deserves one low review. Ive been to many Jersey Mike's and received a far far better service than folks here. They have no organization what so ever and they act more busy than they should be. Management needs serious review from corporate because they clearly don't know what organized means. Lines are slow and online ordering don't help as you still wait in line after online ordering. Plus, they sometimes mess up your order and don't even realize it. Hope this place improves in the future but for now, it's another under performing sub place. read more

Jersey Mike's is the only sandwich chain I like. All the rest gross me out. I had problems ordering from this location in the past (particularly over the phone), but after almost 6 months of staying away, the Jersey Mike's craving was too strong during my lunch break. I waited in line and got the chipotle cheese steak with chicken. I asked for extra chiptole since I had problems getting any at all in the past, but I had a lot on there this time. It was super tasty and the wait was probably like 10 -15 min. during lunch rush so not bad. They have a new employee that was really nice and asking how everyone's day is too. The customer service has definitely improved. It was a little awkward paying because when I ordered my hot sandwich they gave me my ticket and said go straight to the cash register. I think some people in line thought I was cutting. I also really dislike the payment process that asks for a tip, but have seen it in other establishments too. read more

So why the 2 star? When I had come in it was crazy busy and there was a REALLY long line so the wait was kinda long. The girl working there seemed overwhelmed. Next thing I know the grown guy who i guess is the manager or owner or something pulls her in back. U could hear him yellin. I don't know what he yellin about or what she did or nothing. All I know is that lil girl came out lookin embarassed and like she was bout to cry. I felt super awkward for the rest of the time, and decided to take my sandwitch to go instead of eat in. Was looking forward to going to Jersey Mikes for lunch with my husband due to its reputation for great sandwich's friendly service and fast line. Not the case for the Gardena location which recently replaced Quiznos. We walked in and were not even acknowledged, waited in a long and slow line only for the sandwich artist to look like she was bothered that she was even at work. My husband ordered a hot sandwich which they seemed to forget about- the cashier let several people cut us to pay and on top of it they messed up his sandwich. The sandwiches are OK. Fairly standard variety of toppings with the exception of the chili relish.I think the cold sandwich taste better without the salt and herbs. The herbs I believe are mostly oregano and it's overpowering. I can see how this would work on a hot sandwich though. The food here is delicious! Can't go wrong with a sandwich freshly sliced right in front of you! Everytime I go in for my number 13 (my favorite!), everyone is ready to help you and are super friendly greeting you the second you walk in the door! Except today though, the guy that was slicing was rude to one of his employees and sort of pushed her to the side. In my opinion, you should next time maybe pull the person to the side inside of stopping during a lunch rush and being rude in front of the customers. Unprofessional.
