So once again I find myself at JM in Gardena and boy am I glad I did!!! They have the Princess of Sandwich making, Jasmine! She takes pride in making it as if she was making it for herself. Very patient with my can't make up my mind self but once I did she made it with nothing but tender care. Best location ever! 4 dudes working were all pleasant and made my long day okay! Awesome staff yummy sammies, and they have tasty kakes! Reg Cali chicken cheesesteak w avocado and jalapeños is my go to item. I like the fresh good quality ingredients as opposed to other sandwich shops, order extra meat if you have a super hungry man at home. My reg size sandwich is always enough for me. Dear management your whole staff is great but Lewis/Luis is a freaking rockstar! Im a recruiter and I'd hire that kid on the spot if I had an available position open! Pretty piss poor service. The staff here obviously seems miserable and don't work well together. 2 of the employees arguing aggressively in the middle of making sandwiches, making customers uncomfortable. African American woman employee gives customers and co-workers attitude and seems to be the root of the problem at this chain. It's sad to see this place go down hill. I love Jersey Mike's. I pretty much refuse to go to any other sandwich place (like Subway, Quiznos, etc.) because I have found that Jersey Mike's quality of ingredients are so much better. Yes, you pay more at a place like this, but it's for that specific reason - the sandwiches taste better. This location is a lot closer to home than the other location on Crenshaw Blvd. and I find that I come here more often. I always come at lunch time and the wait time tends to get pretty lengthy at 20+ minutes. BUT, I have to give them credit by saying that all the employees here WORK HARD. They try to expedite the line by taking some orders ahead of time if people are ordering hot sandwiches and have some people pay before their sandwiches are ready, but it gets confusing for customers. The confusion then adds to the already long wait time. So, from that standpoint, I think there needs to be a better system for the busy lunch hours, but I do see them making a solid effort at shortening the wait time, which I appreciate. So I know, without a doubt, that I will be returning here. But those of you who come during the lunch hour, keep in mind that the line might be lengthy. read more

Cheesesteak is dependable. But the man behind the counter (turns out he's the owner) is fast, crisp, quick. Saw them slicing their own meats and cheeses, and when he gave us the sandwich he said, "Have a GREAT day! You're going to enjoy that sandwich because I made it!" It wasn't a mere dash of exuberance. The words were bursting out of his face. That's customer service. Way better than walking into a Togo's or a Subway and getting a high schooler unhappy with his summer job, or someone working a temp job eager to get out of there and throwing the goods into your food. 7 people working: 1 just stand in front of veggies smiling, doing nothing, 3 girls seems to be discussing something ignoring me, one guy just does cashier, one guy at the kitchen doing something. Another guy somewhere i couldn't see much what he was doing but he was on the clock. That's what I had to experience for @ 5 mins until I was asked for my order!!!!!! They take your order but give you a piece of paper with your order written and you will give it to the cashier. And OF COURCE she forgot to take jalapeño out!!! "I don't want jalapeño" means I do not want jalapeño in the sub!!!! She even repeated it to me and I confirmed!! There were only two customer already dining and there were three people in front of me already taken care of. Order procedure not working properly. At least cashier was smiling and nice enough to say "I'll be right with you." Quiznos was much better both taste and service. I'll probably not coming here until they get better service training. My experience here was okay, but I think the price is WAY too high for what you get. My dad ordered a veggie sandwich mini - close to $6.00 (with no meat, and the smallest one). My husband ordered an Italian Original, the medium size, and that was almost $9.00!!! Also, I don't think the bread is as good as Subway. They are definitely getting themselves organized...too way too long at the cash register. Nice and friendly, but I don't think I'll be going back. Three people standing around while one does everything include make a call-in sandwich (he walked in 5 mins after me) and made mine simultaneously with the guy behind me, so I had to wait for him to weigh in before my sandwich was built. Then comes the register. Total was $10.70. I gave her $11. She couldn't get the cash register to work so she got out a calculator to figure out my change. Then gave me three pennies. Really? It was my first time trying Jersey MIke's and it was a pretty good cold sandwich. Service: Man, these kids were working hard, buzzing around like worker bees. I started getting annoyed that I had to wait over 15 minutes in line, but then I started feeling sorry for the kids that work there. Their manager seems like a drill sergeant, barking orders at them. That's not okay to treat your employees like that! Food: I ordered the Italian cold cut regular size. Bread was good; way better than Subway. Price: I spent about $10 overall (after tipping those poor kids). Kinda pricey for a sub sandwich, but the quality is what you pay for. It's cool to have your sandwich meat sliced in front of you! I've been holding back from writing a review on this location because I really love Jersey Mike's subs. However, this location has proven to be a disappointment. The sandwiches are usually pretty good, despite the small amount of avocado used. Do not bother placing an online order as it is just a waste of time and effort. My family and I order online regularly and without fail our order is NOT ready when we arrive. I can understand waiting to prepare the food if it's ordered without first receiving payment, but, when you pay in advance, the food should be ready at the promised time. Last night, they held onto our order until we arrived because they ran out of wheat bread and wanted to ask if we wanted white bread. Isn't that the purpose of having a phone number as part of the online profile????? Once we confirmed that white bread is acceptable we had to wait another 10 minutes. While waiting, we stepped out to Yogurtland, and upon returning the girl didn't come over immediately to give us the food but finished her fun conversation with her co-worker, this is unacceptable service. On another occasion, the food was late but the owner was there and promised a free re-order on the next visit. Much better consolation for poor service. Not sure that I will continue to patronize this location if this happens to us one more time. I gave two stars because despite the poor online service, the sandwiches are good and fresh. read more

Ever since the previous store manager Mike transferred to another location, this store has not met my expectations. Every other JM's branch does a nice job overall, but this location continues to slip somehow. I mean how hard it is to add extra meat, especially when you're paying close to $3.00 for it? It's not just that, they sometimes forget to read the special instructions, I.e side of Buffalo Sauce. I don't have these issues with other branches, maybe this store owner is stingy and traines employees to serve the absolute minimum portion. Who knows. I called today and told the supervisor that after 5+ years of ordering from here, I won't be returning to this location. No biggie. read more

I have always enjoyed my visits to JM but today's visit was some what disappointing order the Philly Cheese Steak $16 plus some change only to have to ask can I please add lettuce and tomatoes. Get home and now I have a sandwich for my husband that is not cut and the lettuce & tomatoes are all on the outside of the sandwich :( and not re-wrapped properly. My husband and I tried this location for the first time since moving and they messed up both of our orders. On mine, they forgot the Mike's Way completely and on my husband's, they forgot his Mike's Way and his cherry relish and inexplicably added pickles. The worst part is we placed these orders in-person, not even online. Not sure how if the woman just got confused or wasn't paying attention but very frustrating. Won't be going back. When I came here during their grand opening, their service was fast, efficient, and their subs were great. Now, the three times I've been here (in the past two weeks), the service is terribly SLOW, and the girl didn't remember what meats went on our sandwiches. There were only two people in front of me, and it took 25 minutes to get my sub. Not even a hot sub, but a COLD one. Looking through the glass, there were three employee working, and two goofing around near the fountain drinks and front door. I think this place has potential, just train the staff better. I came here because one of my friends suggested it because he loved it and he knew my love for sandwiches. So when I came I was very excited to try it out. I ended up ordering the chipotle chicken. Their service is always great when the owner is around. I was there on 9/18/18 3:43 PM that I had the worst possible service from the two girls behind the counter. Both of the girls had a major attitude with the customers, but when they were talking to each other in front of the customers they were laughing out loud. I first came to this location two years ago. It's been one of my favorites! I think countered the staff and even the owner. Great customer service always! I'm a strong believer in service with a smile, and this location has always delivered that! Twice, I've been here to redeem a birthday coupon. Once I came here for my dad and the other for myself. The staff here are welcoming and even finish off our visits, greeting happy birthday! I appreciate the kindness! I've been a customer of Jersey Mike's for maybe five years. Each time I've come in, I've always ordered #13 with Swiss cheese, light mayo, lettuce and salt-and-pepper. Awesome sandwich because of how much meat is in it. You cannot compare Jersey Mike's to any other sub around. I favor that the meat and cheese are always sliced one ordered. That way you know it's fresh! The price isn't bad at all! If you sign up for their rewards program, you not only receive a yearly birthday present, but weekly coupons too! Sometimes you save a buck or you'll receive a drink and chips with any purchase. Although I live in Carson and a new location recently opened up here, I'd still travel out of my way to this location in Gardena! Good sandwitches, friendly staff and a manager who welcomes you and likes to create friendship with you. The only downside is that, if you use a card for your payment, there's a option to tip which makes you feel like you have to tip rather than wanting to tip.
