I've been told on two occasions this year that a dine-in order would be at least a 30 minute wait "because we have a huge Doordash order". Yesterday, the sole front line employee rang up my order incorrectly, then just turned and walked away from us to chat with a delivery driver . On returning we started reworking my order. Was interrupted again by a member of the kitchen crew about a different delivery. This place should just shut down their retail operation and just fire up a ghost kitchen instead.

When you arrive at Schuman's and enter through the front door, you'll notice a red number dispenser to your right. Take a number to determine your place in line. Once your number is called, you'll be quickly helped. This system ensures a fair and efficient service for all customers. At Schuman's, you can be sure that your meat and side needs for any meal, big or small, will be met. The butchers are not just knowledgeable, they are also incredibly customer-centered. We bought pork chops and were asked if the thickness was to our liking; if not, they were willing to cut what we wanted. Their helpfulness and support make me feel appreciated and confident in my choices. Schumans has an extensive selection of beef and pork products, and a delightful delicatessen with a variety of cold cuts and cheeses. While Schumuns does not make its own sausage like Thurns, it does carry a wide selection of Falter's products and Tony Packo's. At Schumun's, you can find more than just meat and deli products. They also stock staples like milk, bread, eggs, a wide variety of condiments, rubs, Tony Packo's pickles, and local butter by the log. This convenience adds to the overall satisfaction of shopping at Schumun's. We miss Thurns but are thrilled with Schumun's Meat. Give them a try.

Next we got our favorite, #41 Phil Katzinger's Club, which has their homemade chicken salad, bacon, and Honeycup mustard (top left). Finally we got #3 Ari's Open Door, which had pastrami, salami, and cream cheese (top right). The service is also amazing - the workers are kind and even gave us free bagels tonight as they were closing! Must try.

Additionally, having had a Goodman's Deli mile high corned beef sandwich when I lived in Cleveland, I had even higher expectations. Their most popular sandwich is the Reuben so I went with that. Katzingers did not meet them. When I arrived to pick up my sandwich I was shocked the line wasn't out the door to place orders before they closed and the dining room had maybe 6 people in it. There were about 6 to go bags on the shelf along with mine. When I mentioned to the cashier that I was surprised it wasn't busier, she said it'll be busier tomorrow. I said the day after St Pat's? No answer. Another not good sign in my mind. When I got home, the wrapped sandwich was bigger than my hand but not very tall. The paper had areas of grease which is a good sign for this sandwich. The corned beef itself was tender but there wasn't as much of it, maybe an inch high and 1/3 of the bread had no corned beef. I also could not taste the thousand island dressing. The rye bread was toasted but pretty soggy. The crust was mostly crunchy. The bread slices were paired upside down putting a narrower side a larger side against each other. There is not enough sauerkraut and it is not very sour. I was given the choice of a dill or garlic pickle but I cannot tell you how it was because they didn't put it in the bag. I expected this sandwich to have so much meat in it, I could eat for multiple days for $18. Again, disappointed. Maybe I should've gotten the deli sized version but paying that much for a sandwich... The inside of the deli is fun and it's obvious it's been around a long time and has been well loved. I wanted to like Katzinger's but since the price and the quality don't match, I cannot.

At almost $18, I was expecting an enormous sandwich, but it was a pretty average sized sandwich. The flavors were really good. Just the right amount of hot mustard, so it wasn't overpowering. My hubby got the egg salad sandwich again, and was very happy with it. I couldn't resist adding a slice of their cherry cheesecake, as well. It was really creamy, and light on the sugar. The cherry topping was so good with the cheesecake, I just wish there was more topping! Checked out the decor while waiting for our food, and saw they sell fresh bread and bagels. You can even ask for a half loaf and have them slice it for you! (If they had a location near my house, I'd definitely be stopping by regularly for their bread!). Overall, loved the place.

I prefer a traditional New York-style bagel with a crisp, chewy crust and a dense, doughy interior. These delivered on the crust, but the interior was lighter than I expected, and the overall flavor just didn't stand out. The staff was genuinely friendly and courteous, which I appreciated. Just know that even if you're only picking up a few bagels (i.e. not ordering sandwiches) you should expect a wait and, as mentioned above, you may find yourself standing outside in the parking lot.
