Alright I came on a Sunday at 11AM.... Maybe if I came on a Saturday at 9AM I would have had a better experience however it'll be a while before I come back. In my opinion the hype was not worth it. It sucks having 2 good bagel places in Ohio because the Lox really outweighs Bears by a long shot. I ended up ordering a Classic w Turkey Sausage on a Sesame Bagel (all other savory bagels were out at this point) . The taste was okay.... I would argue that a chain such as Breuggers was better taste wise. The bagel itself was fluffy and was the star of the show but like i said just overall not worth it. Lastly, the staff was kind and efficient. Fast moving line even though it was out the door. Also, parking is awful here. Just park down the street and walk over, not worth the hassle. read more

What a cool little shop! There's not much dine in space but there was plenty of people lined up outside for to gos. The shop is very small, with a couple tables, and the parking lot is limited. There is street parking available around the area! We tried a few different bagels and they were all made well, delicious, and with quality ingredients. I really enjoyed all of them. You can't go wrong with your choice, they're good. I would suggest trying to eat them while they're hot and fresh! It was a little messy to eat just because the ingredients would squeeze out after each bite but we kept them wrapped up which helped There was a long line when we came but they moved people pretty quickly. I legitimately crave the bagels at this place. There is no better bagel place in Columbus in my opinion. I had a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and I added pickled onions and garlic and chive schmear. Omg it was insanely good and filling. I will 100% be going back and would highly recommend it to Hilliard residents since it is such a good Hilliard location. Bears Bagels has been on my list for a long time and it lives up to the hype! The owner was so friendly when I walked in and seemed genuinely excited when I mentioned it was my first visit. The building is small but it's cute and welcoming, and there are a few tables. I had the Goldie Lox and it set itself apart from other delis in a few ways - the lox had a pastrami seasoning, the pickled red onions had a nice tang that cut through the richness of the lox and cream cheese, and the bagel was truly phenomenal. They have lots of good bagel sandwich options and you can also build your own. I chose to opt for one of their signature sandwiches, the Goldie Lox on an everything bagel. It had pastrami smoked salmon, Garlic and chive cream cheese, pickled red onion, tomato, cucumber, and fresh dill. It was such a delicious combo, I thoroughly enjoyed it. In addition to their bagel sandwiches, they also sell their bagels in singles, half dozens, and bakers dozens. They also sell their cream cheese, which is nice because they have so many good flavor combinations. All in all I think this is a great breakfast spot and deserves all the hype it gets. Very cute location. The owner Charis is maybe the most personable human I've ever encountered, very perfect for the front of house. I made the trip from Canal to Hilliard in search of an authentic New York style bagel and Bears delivered. Tons of schmear options and a curated menu of sandwiches. We tried a few things as we were indecisive but the OG everything bagel with chive cream cheese was my favorite. My significant other was excited for the Sunday Special; a play on an Arby's beef and cheddar sandwich which he was quite the letdown as it was dry. The slab bacon on the Bears Best was extremely thick and fatty; if you're into that I can see you loving that option. I visited Bears Bagels this morning and finally get the hype! I have been hearing how good this place is for a while now and finally was able to try this morning. I had stopped by a few weeks ago and wasn't able to get anything as they had already sold out around noon (good for them but sad for me) but very was excited to be able to try this morning! The line was a bit long when we got there (around 10:30) but it moved very quickly and we were even able to sit at the barstools inside and eat! I had the Bears Best on toasted rosemary sea salt and the banana bread cold brew. My friend also ordered the mixed berry toasted with cinnamon schmear. The Bears Best was so good! Probably the best bagel sandwich I've had. The bacon was so thick, the chili schmear was so flavorful, and the green onion and pickled veggies brought the whole thing together. I had a bite of the mixed berry with cinnamon schmear, I don't usually love sweet breakfast and prefer savory, but it was also so delicious! The banana bread cold brew honestly shocked me.... This cute little shop in downtown Hilliard has a line outside the door at 8:05 AM on a Friday. I ordered a jalapeño cheddar bialy, French toast bialy and everything bagel. I had never heard of a bialy before bears bagels but these are amazing a little bit spicy and the cream cheese in the center is so good. I also love that they put all the seasonings around the entire bagel rather than just on top. I do wish that they open sooner than 8 AM because it's difficult to get there on workdays read more

The restaurant was not too busy, service was good, and I got my order in a couple of minutes. I ordered my bagel to go and left. Off to my short drive home to indulge. Here's my thoughts.... It's a little too busy with this many things on a bagel, so difficult for my taste buds to identify all flavors. I tasted the cream cheese, but hard to decipher garlic and chive, the cucumber I would have preferred pickled, but I think that's what the pickled red onions were for. This place is outstanding! I go here 1-3 times a month. Not only do you a wonderful staff who really cares about the product they put out, they also care about the folks in line. I have yet to go in without having or witnessing the owners; who are working hard making them bagels and still making time to greet guests coming in. Its like when you haven't seen a friend for a while and then you just pick up where you left off. The food is terrific! My go to is the Goldie Lox, sure its not the cheapest bagel but its not made with poo poo ingredients. They use the good stuff! I truly enjoy that each month they have a special bagel, schmear and bialy. My favorite was Aug 2024 with the Old Bay cheddar bagel. As an AVID Old Bay lover, it was the bee's knees! I also really enjoyed July 2025 the Riley, big ol fat backyard tomatoes paired with the garlic schmear.....omg, so good! They also have a wonderful selection of coffee drinks in their cooler, get the banana bread coffee, you will give your taste buds a delightful treat! The store is small and quaint, it is not intended to be a sit down breakfast spot, it does have a few tables and a little standing counter, but it is designed to be a grab and go. Love it or hate it, it works for them and their customers. Fun Fact - Bring cash if you plan on tipping. Cash tips go to the staff and the digital tips go to local non-profits. Got a 4 pack bag of Everything Bagels and was able to chat a few minutes with Charis (Bear) bagels and the Brick and Mortar store he is getting ready to open in Hilliard in the next couple months. His bagels are made the artisanal way by resting them for 24 hrs , boiled and then baked. Trust me when I tell you that they are WAY better than other bagel places. First time in going in with the hopes of picking up a half dozen bagels. It's attached to a gas station, but is painted nicely outside with good signage. A few parking spots out front. It was around noon on a Friday, line out the door. People were mostly ordering sammies. Get in to order after a few minutes' wait (maybe 5-7 mins) and they have pumpernickel and plain bagels left. We got 2 plain and called it a day. ~$2.25 each and I would consider them slightly undersized for the price. The cashier wasn't exactly friendly. There was an inference of an apology ("We only have pumpernickel and plain left. We are busy.") I mean ok? I can see that you're busy, but kindness is free. Just didn't leave us with a great first impression. If I find myself close by again in the future, I might try one of their bagel sandwiches because they sounded nice, but I won't make a special trip for bagels alone. read more

When something is new and they've got social media and word of mouth EVERYBODY flocks there. Yet if you peel back the layers of hype you've got to come to the reality of what this place is...a solid bagel shop. It's not an orgasmic otherworldly experience like folks have blown it up to be, again, it's solid. You could go to SEVERAL other high quality places around town and get the same. I guess the Hilliard community was starved for bagels and this business met their supply and demand and are making money HAND OVER FIST. Their bagel sandwiches are high priced yet kinda dinky and WHITE CASTLE sized for what you get. This is kinda odd to say this because the bagels they have in their display case are HUMONGOUS yet when you order one of their $15-$20 bagel sandwiches that come with no sides or a drink they're MINISCULE. Two small bagel breakfast sandwiches gonna run you $30-$40. Nevertheless they're tasty with unique flavor combinations and profiles. The everything bagel combination of seasonings on the outside needs more salt and the rosemary sea salt bagels need more rosemary and sea salt. The other bagel flavors like the pretzel one is just okay. The SCHMEARS or cream cheese are velvety smooth where you don't have to butcher the hell out the bagel to smear it on. The VARIOUS flavors of the SCHMEARS here are probably the best thing going here along with their BIALY with the sweet potato on the inside. I can't guarantee the sweet potato bialy will be there if you try them later on down the line because these are SEASONAL. There is a line, sometimes out the door, because it is super small inside with little to NO SEATING with odd parking outside as this place is attached to a gas station. So if you pull into their odd angled parking lot and you get a scratch or a dent on your Benz, Beamer, Lexus, or Tesla don't say I didn't warn you. I do give them credit for their customer service and efficiency because they operate like a well oiled machine because they get those orders and churn them out which makes the line go fast. This place is on par with any other bagel spot that is NOT A CHAIN which means it's leap years better than Tim Hortons, Dunkin Donuts etc but higher quality like a Fox in the Snow, Blocks, Lox, Cockys etc. This is a HONEST review unlike all the other Instagram, Tik Tok inspired ones, prior to mine, acting like YOU WILL SEE GOD if you eat here. This place is NOT that, but it's still SOLID and congratulations to the owners for taking all that old HILLIARD money by opening this business...they won't miss it. read more
