With more than 420 stores in Texas and Mexico, the H-E-B grocery company is the fifth largest (by…read morerevenue) privately owned company in the U.S. It was founded in 1905 in Kerryville, Texas and became H-E-B when a successful 2nd store was launched in Del Rio, Texas, using the initials of the owner, Howard Edward Butt. I've experienced their take home Texas barbeque a couple of times, and was excited when my brother let me know that his local H-E-B had a Bayou Boil House (not all do), serving up Louisiana Crawfish boils during the weekend. The stand is located at the front entrance of the store where the carts are located (similarly where a hot dog stand would be if in a Midwestern store). It is manned by two H-E-B employees, with coolers stocked with the already cooked seafood and vegetables. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived an hour before closing (closing at 6pm), they were out of crawfish (would have been $6.97 per pound). Instead we got shrimp (headless and deveined, shell-on for $12.97 per pound), with corn and potatoes ($2.97 per pound), sausage ($7.97 per pound). Snow Crab would have been $16.97, though I never think it is worth it. It is all mixed together in a large durable plastic bag. We brought it back home, and I ended up eating it for dinner and the following breakfast. Everything was really good: nothing was overcooked (i.e. mealy or mushy), the sausage was a good andouille, and the old bay type seasoning was just right. They could definitely elevate it up a couple of notches if replicating a Viet-Cajun sauce, that is very popular in the Houston area. But as it is, definitely a winner...along with their Texas brisket, makes me wish an H-E-B was visitable from where we live.

Dec 30 2025 I'm NOT very hungry but we each order a ham sandwich with everything on it, but onions, mine toasted his not... Victor brings them out and we enter the glorious realm where the excellent things are! Men don't have to describe deliciousness in words we just make sounds which I don't know how to spell! Still NOT hungry we order another! Victor brings them out and the next is just as amazing as the first! Now my daughter is a culinary school graduate and she makes amazing foods and has worked in 5 star restaurants serving incredible foods with high prices. Focaccia Bakery right off I69/59 has 5 star restaurant quality for a regular price. I apologize for my simple vocabulary that I can NOT describe how amazing these sandwiches are. So I will stop & challenge you to do a better job of describing just how good they really are, I double dog dare you!

It is tastefully decorated and the people are SO kind. Their menu is perfect for whatever taste you have and he even gave me a sample of their focaccia bread, SO GOOD! I got the garden sandwich and it is the perrrfect blend of flavor, warmth, and crisp. Can't wait to go

The order was ready by the time I got there. When I walked in, I instantly realized I forgot they had a salad bar. Next time. The sandwich was delicious, bread was buttery and plenty of meat. I also added giardiniera, which gave the sandwich an amazing spicy kick. The pasta salad lacked flavor but was a good pair to the sandwich. The pumpkin cake was moist and yummy.

Whether I am dining in or having a catering order delivered, their food is consistently good. The menu has a wide variety of deli options. They also have a build- your-own salad bar. The deli sandwiches are good and the salad bar is fresh. They also have a variety of soups available. I'm rarely disappointed with an order from Jason's Deli. It's why I keep coming back. Customer Service: 5-stars. The vast majority of the time when I am ordering catering, I order online. They're online system is very user-friendly and easy to place catering orders. I often order from them for deliveries that range anywhere from 10 to 50 people. On occasion, I order on a very short notice (although I try my best not to do that to them), and they always come through with flying colors. When it comes to catering, their orders are typically always spot on accurate. As far as customer service goes when I visit this location and dine-in, the staff is always friendly, management is on top of things, and the place is clean. There's not much more you can ask for. Their history and consistency of customer service is an easy five stars rating. Bottom line-Good food and great customer service. Overall, I'd give them 4.5 stars but since 1/2 stars don't exist in the Yelp universe, I'll round up to 5-stars. Bon appétit, y'all.
