BEC with hash brown and carmalized onions. Special. No frills. Just great bread and good ingredients. Hell yeah

Elim Deli Cafe is a small place tucked away on Lexington Avenue. I would be reluctant to get food from Elim Deli for a long time, as it is not as aesthetically pleasing as other Delis, but I quickly learned that looks can be deceiving. After having been turned away from a breakfast food truck since there was no apple pay, my craving for an egg on a roll was at its peak. I finally came to Elim and I was eager to make the purchase. The egg on a roll with turkey bacon ** and cheese turned out to be only 6.50! Not only was it reasonably priced, it was also fairly tasty and a good portion size. The atmosphere is pretty standard for a deli in New York City -- narrow space, faint music, along with the hot and cold food bars. My sandwich was prepared in a relatively short period of time. The staff were nice and close to ensure I had napkins and condiments. :) I'll definitely be back for more breakfast sandwiches!

3 stars because I saw the man wearing gloves pick his eye and then touch the deli meat and put it on my sandwich. Which defeated the purpose of wearing gloves. I immediately lost my appetite. I ended up eating my sandwich I got the turkey and ham with cheese. It was pretty good but the roll seemed a little old. They did put a lot of meat which was nice, but again he contaminated it. My boyfriend for the chicken pesto sandwich and he liked it but agreed this is a 3 star place. It could have used more filing. Good place to come for sandwiches and they have a bar full of various hot and cold foods but they just need to be cleaner. Inside It looks like a drug store mixed with a cheap buffet. Overall, this place has cheap food that's not actually that cheap?!

    Egg slut sandwich #3

Discovered this place 2 weeks ago and I've been dropping by once or twice every week because their selection of food is so good! Had the egg slut sandwich #3 today and it did not disappoint. Brioche, special Mayo, sautéed onions, scrambled eggs, bacon and hash brown. So good! Def recommend.

First off: their prices are super reasonable. Secondly: perfect place to go for breakfast/lunch. My sister and I walked here from Central Park after seeing reviews and pictures. Upon entering, we saw a buffet style table laid out, which you can buy per pound- the options on here ranged from fruits, vegetables/salad, to lasagna/pasta options, dumplings-- all kinds of things really ! From the menu, you can order breakfast items. I chose 2 eggs, bacon and potatoes. This was $4.50 !! The amount they gave was SO MUCH ! On the side, i got some salad, avocado, and shrimp because I wasn't expecting such a huge portion. I only took a pic of the main thing I got but everything was really tasty.

I don't blame the restaurant, but this place has minimal seating. Should not be recommended by yelp as good for kids.

I ordered the Kale Chicken Caesar Salad, which comes with grilled chicken, kale, Caesar dressing, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and a huge piece of buttered bread. I also added grilled steak cooked medium because apparently one protein wasn't enough for me. Both the chicken and steak were flavorful, and the steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it. The salad was filling enough to feel like an actual meal rather than just something light. I also ordered the Strawberry Margarita, which was only $10 thanks to their all day, everyday margarita special. And listen, they are NOT playing with that margarita. It was strong but still tasted really good, which is exactly the balance I want from a cocktail. I ate alone and really liked the seating setup. I had a cute little booth that felt perfect for a solo diner, but it would work just as well for two people. The restaurant also has plenty of seating for larger groups, so it seems like an easy choice whether you're eating alone or coming with friends or family. The servers were attentive to me and assisted me quickly. They also checked in on me multiple times. The interior was another highlight. There's a beautiful wall covered with different pieces of artwork that adds a lot of character to the restaurant and makes the space feel much more visually interesting than your typical diner. Overall, this was a great quick meal while I was out running errands. Good food, a surprisingly strong $10 margarita, and a comfortable atmosphere for dining solo. I'd definitely stop in again when I'm in the area.

Do not show up here without a reservation, as it is very popular! The interior is your typical diner vibe. We loved seeing the pastries on display in the case while we queued for the table to be ready. I had the avocado salad with chicken, and my mom opted for the salted caramel waffle and hash browns. Everything was delicious and huge portions. Our waitress was very slow and didn't check on us much at all, but the great food made up for it. Make sure to stop by here with a reservation!

I'm so glad Broad Nosh Bagels & Deli popped up in my search, as it was exactly what I was looking to enjoy. A couple of us trekked the few blocks to find the storefront. Inside it was PACKED, and several groups and lines snaked around the dividers. But the line moved quickly between customers picking up to-go meals and placing orders at the counters. The display cases are beautiful and feature so many different kinds of cream cheese. (Who knew you could make a whole vat of Biscoff?) They also had many types of smoked fish and toppings for customers filing through. Once you order food, you take your ticket to the register where you can add any drinks. This also went fairly quickly. Food and drink order numbers were called out and checked with the receipts, although they called out a set of orders for several minutes and no one came to pick them up. There are a few tables there, but since customers wait to grab drinks and food near the front, the couple tables at the front were basically for crowd control. I definitely wouldn't try to eat there unless I happened to be going at a quieter time. I got the bagel with smoked salmon, and it was exactly what I had been craving. Their bagels are a quarter pound each, so you might even get two meals out of it if you have a fridge for storage. But even as good as the bagel was, the hot chai latte with oat milk was the star for me. It was so incredibly layered for flavor and fragrant, just lightly sweet. I would go out of my way on a trip to NYC just to get one of these for breakfast! We all really enjoyed our food, and I will definitely return.
