Huge sandwich good for two meals which makes the price worth I think. I got the ortoletto with burrata which was yummy. However it was a bit too acidic with the toppings when you eat it cold. It's better when the sandwich has been marinating for a bit and it's warmer. Bread was good but got soggy. Personally would prefer the bread at antico vinaio but alidoro is better for vegetarians.

I'm so glad I finally tried Alidoro, and the fact that it's close to the office makes it even better. This blew All'Antico Vinaio out of the water for me, plus you can customize everything the way you want. I ordered the Romeo on semolina and added mortadella. The portion was perfect for $21 and honestly worth every dollar. It's a bit cheaper than All'Antico Vinaio and still super filling. I'm definitely coming back to try the other sandwiches. Obsessed!!!

I got the Alidoro sandwich on ciabatta and while it was good, I don't think it was worth $20. Service was quick and wait time after ordering and paying was also quick.

Gave it another go and this place is a disappointment, plain and simple. You get almost no meat and cheese on your sandwich and today the bread was stale. $19 for 2 slices of meat, a half slice of mozzarella and some arugula. Even with inflation you have to be joking me. They do have good variety with condiments, meats and cheeses and they do have a good list of sandwich options. But you get almost nothing on the sandwich. Plus some of the workers here are rude and give off the impression they have better things to do. Finished ordering, turned around and heard some employee loudly complain about customers not mentioning the water cooler leaking. Not the customer's responsibility and save the attitude. This is your job and employees are the ones to make sure the place is well kept so no one slips. Never coming back.

Got the Gothamist on semolina bread , a pickle, and a bag of chips with rosemary and olive oil flavor. Oh, a canned Illy latte too. It was $38.34 with tax. The pickle was a small sliver and cost 75 cents. It did have some surprising heat to it. The sandwhich had a mild flavor and was fresh. The bread had a good texture. The pesto, lemon, and sundried tomatoe flavors were milder than expected. The rosemary of the chips was not very noticable. I am glad I got it in advance for supper for my 7 hour train ride . Better than the dining car options or nothing. Pretty expensive but it is NYC in a train station. You're paying for convenience and location. My canned latte was needed on the ride too and I liked the flavor. The line was short and moved fast around noon on a Monday. Staff were friendly and helpful in giving directions of service. You get a pager after you pay- when it buzzes, you pick up your food in the next window. I recommend grabbing a cold sandwhich to go for long rides.

Alixoro builds some good sandwiches. Some are hot others are cold. The sandwiches come out very quickly so if you are there for a quick lunch this is a good find. There is limited seating as well. I particularly liked the bread (and you are given a choice) which tasted freshly baked. Service was pleasant and the decor does not feel like fast food.

The most incredible mind blowing Italian sandwich I have had in NY. I got the Gothamist - I can't say enough about the Semolina bread, so fresh soft and a perfect compliment to the rest of the ingredients. The burrata just melted in your mouth. I can't wait to go back and try all their other delicious sounding sandwich options!

It is definitely a good sandwich, the thought into putting this sandwich together is not missed. I just tink a touch more ingredients, meat, cheese veggies. (Personal preference) Service was quick, friendly, efficient. Cool ambiance, couple of tabletops, adequate seating.

    Italian cheesesteak (1/2) on focaccia

Read through some food recommendations at Moynihan Train Hall and decided on the Italian Cheesesteak at Alidoro- and excellent choice. Picture below is half the sandwich because I ate the other half on the train. Finishing the rest now. This is not a typical cheesesteak. It's thinly sliced rare, melting your mouth roast beef is incredible- the focaccia is delightful and the truffle cream and black mustard elevate this to a gourmet masterpiece. Don't love spending $18 for a sandwich but is NYC and the chicken wrap I got for dinner the night before at an Irish pub was $22. I will happily spend $18 for this every time Im In town!

    # UPDATE: Can confirm did come back. Can confirm the sandwich sandwiched. If I had some kind of set lunch rotation, this would make it. # Ambiance Ali doro was much more crowded this second time I went. They seem to alternate between a buzzer system and an honor system with taking your name, maybe dependent on how busy they are. # Food and Drink Build Your Own Sandwich Focaccia + Mortadella + Prosciutto + Fresh Mozzarella + Sundried tomatoes + Pesto cream Might be blasphemy, but I enjoy mortadella much more than prosciutto on these sandwiches. The prosciutto isn't really all that salty and just seems to make my bites take more effort. Sandwich still hit though.

Il Sole ($17)- sweet, salty, cheesy, crusty, spicy,....I could so go on! Heaven! Perfect portion size for lunch on the go!

7 minute walk to Bryant park from my hotel on the overcast day! Not too busy for a Friday afternoon. The cashier was friendly and appreciated my "our-of-town accent "...didn't know I had one, but boy oh boy she did! I wanted some spice during lunch that day. She steered me away from the Enzo (she said I needed milk/water READY, ready!) and advised on the il sole with just a little spice. Sandwich came out in less than 5. It was really hot in the establishment, so I didn't stay and eat. This delicious concoction failed to make it back to the hotel room on 35th street...poor thing, didn't stand a chance. Some might complain about the small amount of meat on the bread, but I could lose a few...I wasn't mad. Delicious lunch with a small amount of spice. There was a sweet jam that paired perfectly with the salty, melty cheese. Hit the spot!

This is in a ritzy part of town on 60th St between Madison Ave & Park Ave with Ferraris & Bentleys parked on the street, so you have to guess that the storefront rent must be astronomical. But oh, these gastronomical sandwiches are off the charts and can justify the price. Once you decipher the names of the sandwiches on the menu and see what's between the bread, you will want to try all of them. I settled on 2 finalists, but decided get both anyway. All sandwiches are made fresh with some of the best looking meats & ingredients I've ever seen! And what's better is that they bake all the focaccia for the sandwiches fresh and in-house. You see the bread oven right behind the register. I wonder if I could buy a slab of that bread? The L'Inferno brought images of Danté Alighieri's version of the Underworld to mind, but was a spicy hot masterpiece of sandwich art. The combination of thinly sliced roasted porchetta, nduja, spicy grilled eggplant & arugula was fantastic! The fresh baked focaccia took it even further. But I did learn something new today besides Italian pronunciation, which was that nduja (silent n) is a spicy sausage from Calabrese that's spreadable like butter. I gotta get me some of that stuff! The La Paradiso sounds like the third installment of Danté's Divine Comedy trilogy, but is a very mild, but tasty sandwich with mortadella, stracciatella & crushed pistachios in pistachio cream. The pistachio cream is a stroke of culinary genius and gives the sandwich an amazingly smooth texture & taste. The only part of the Divine Comedy missing from their menu is La Purgatorio and I do not want to find out what would go into that sandwich!

It was a huge portion of fresh white meat chicken with a light coating and a perfectly balanced sauce, served piping hot. I have three big guys with me and sometimes quick lunches need to be more filling than fast food options, so we chose Alidoro's under Rockefeller Plaza. We could walk to it form the hotel and it was in the middle off all we wanted to show the boys on their first day (first time) in the city. We all chose different sandwiches and they were ready pretty fast. Since the shop itself is not huge, we landed a small space at the window bar with two stools and some standing room. After being in a car and on a flight and in another car all morning, we weren't mad about the standing part. We were all able to share and sample each sandwich, and honestly, we were not disappointed. We were all full and happy when we weren't finished, so what more could we want for a relatively quick NYC meal? Being under the plaza, the restrooms were outside the shop but very close by so we were able to wash hands and such before journeying out into the wild. I would definitely stop back by again on another trip! The guys and I all gave Alidoro's two thumbs up - so 8 thumbs total, if you're counting.
