OK. Tries to look different than subway but basically can get same sandwich at either. That is if u know how to order a la carte. There are numbered sandwiches on the board but there not in sequential or sensical order or association with the sandwich. Major plus is have what appeared to be fresh brewed sweet and unsweetened tea. Never sure nowadays if it brewed or syrup, but at least they offered 2 kinds of iced tea. A miss was no sweet n low or other sugar substitute for unsweetened tea. If u sell unsweetened tea sugar substitute is a must. Especially the standard bearer sweet n low. One plus is the teenie tiny size they offer. It's like the 1/2 sandwich u'd get with soup and 1/2 sandwich. People who worked at store were nice. read more

Today was my first and last visit ever! Their customer service was HORRIBLE!!! The server making the food was whispering so you can barely here them behind the glass. I went to Jersey Mikes today for lunch and the male behind the counter was talking so quiet. I literally could not hear him and he was messing sandwiches up. Not only this, the manager YELLED at the customer in front of me telling her to read the sign and that she was telling her for "next time". The way she was spoke to was highly inappropriate. Less than a couple of days ago my husband and I mutually agreed to try some sandwiches from Jersey Mike's in Norfolk Virginia (on Hampton boulevard) especially because fortunately he had some coupons from his work that were good for getting free sandwiches.  My husband chose a roast beef and provolone sandwich (the number 6) and he liked his sandwich.  I chose to try the number 12 the Cancro special that comes with pepperoni roast beef and provolone and I too enjoyed my sandwich with some Miss Vickies vinegar and sea salt kettle cooked chips and sharing a rootbeer with my hubby.  The employees giving us our food were very polite. read more

This particular Jersey Mike's near ODU doesn't deserve a star. The manager, Courtney was rude and bossy plus I watched her touching a receipt and then went on handling food without changing the dirty gloves. I even saw her as she was rubbing her nose and scratching her head around food area. I didn't even see her wash her hands she just happened to put on another pair of gloves. The man cashier forgot to give my drink cup and I had remind him once I got my sandwich and he still had to asked me what size I order. Mind you, I was the only customer in the restaurant. Also, Cashier had to asked the dirty manager, Courtney on how to handle cash obviously he wasn't train well. Very poor customer service in this establishment. NEVER going back again! I've loved Jersey Mike's ever since I first tried it in California! I was so excited to see the franchise was out here in Norfolk and conveniently close to base! I just love how fresh all the food is! Freshly sliced on the spot deli meats and cheeses, fresh lettuce, onions, and tomatoes!! Fresh bread aromas throughout the store! And of course who could turn down a sandwich made Mike's way! I was so surprised when I showed up during lunch to see a really long line, thinking oh no I will be here forever, that was not the case! I use to love this place it was my go to. But within the last few months the service and staff have been horrible. They are very rude. Today the person that was taking my order was in so much of a rush and didn't want to take the time to listen to my order instead of the chicken bacon ranch I usually get. I opened my sandwich to something that was covered in buffalo sauce. And at first I thought the bad service was just one person but after about two mouths I'm certain this location is just horrible. I got the Chipotle Cheese steak (no chicken) and still managed to find so many little bone pieces in my sandwich. Every single bite, at least 2 or 3 pieces in the sandwich. This is close to work and even when there's a line it moves quickly. Better than Subway for me. My favorite is the turkey and provolone and I always get it dressed Mikes way. They have hot and cold subs to choose from and different types of breads. Place was clean and had seating available to sit and eat. Employees were nice and friendly. No complaints here. When I walked into the establishment there was a lot of people in line, however, the staff was very efficient in getting orders taken and gettin the orders started. The gentlemen that took my order was courteous and friendly. The only I issue I had was he spent so much time checking and weighing the food on a scale. It almost made the experience of eating there very uncomfortable. I totally understand portion control but have a game plan and don't let the customer see it. The lady who dressed my sandwich was nice and did a good job. Most places you go to just throw the toppings on. She was busy but still made the sandwich not look like a damn train wreck. The cashier was pleasant and had his stuff together. Overall I would say I was satisfied with the customer service. The cleanliness of the facility was less than average. Let me start off by saying I work at this location so I am a bit biased. Jersey Mike's is a delicious sandwich chain that has many good hot and cold sub options. We pride ourselves in great customer service and although pay starts at 7.25/hr the credit card tips makes it more like 9 or 10, which makes it a lot better than most min wage jobs. We are located next to the Norfolk naval base, the largest Naval base in the world. Because of this our lunch rush can begin and we sometimes have a line to the door within a few minutes. Regardless of how many are in line, we crank out these subs quick. Sometimes our lunch Rush sees us doing 60+ tickets in an hour, which equates to over a sub a minute. Just like any jersey Mike's, our ingredients are fresh and the subs are prepared in front of you. We have healthier options such as the "sub in a tub" to eliminate bread and our turkey is 99% fat free. For vegetarians we have a cold veggie sub and a grilled veggie wrap (the grilled wrap is tastier). Additionally, our roast beef is trimmed, tied, and oven roasted in our store and is very delicious. All of our cold subs we recommend getting Mike's way which is onions, lettuce, tomato, vinegar, oil, oregano, and salt. You CAN also get the hot subs Mike's way but I find the idea of vinegar and oil on a cheesesteak a bit weird so I would recommend staying away from that. Our subs are made to order so you can put whatever toppings or sauces you'd like on them. 2 subs that we carry but are not displayed on the menu are the teriyaki chicken sub and the BBQ beef sub, so don't be afraid to ask us about those. Some of my personal favorites are the cold: #9 Club Supreme, #13 Italian and hot: #20 Reuben #43 Chipotle cheesesteak #44 Buffalo chicken cheesesteak. Also, ask about our secret menu item the #99 (it's the #56+#43). Subway and Jimmy John's simply do not compare to our superior subs, come visit us sometime soon! read more
