We came on Tuesday night, and had some problems with the food that we took home. I tried calling on the phone a few times and never got an answer. Well, I think after this visit to FHS I should just stop while I'm ahead. I've had not so great service at the one in VB and my visit this morning could have ended up poorly. The guy working was nice, ordering went smoothly and he seemed to understand my request however there was one glitch that I noticed as he was getting ready to prepare my food. He had on gloves and put the bun in the toaster oven, so far so good, but then he picked up a dirty rag and was wiping the counter and picked up a hot tray, emptied it and then used that same rag to wipe the same counter as my bun was almost done (didn't mean to rhyme). He then went for my bun!!! Nooooo!!!! And with those same gloves that were now contaminated with germs and bacteria. Are you kidding me!! I hurried up and interjected and asked him to change his gloves. He did and all was well but I don't get why people think if you have on gloves that it automatically gives one a super power that shields away germs...gloves don't work that way. If you handle nasty stuff with gloves...that nasty stuff is now on the gloves. Very disappointed with visit to this location today. I ordered Firehouse Steak & Cheese™ Sautéed steak, melted provolone, sautéed onions and bell peppers, mayo, and deli mustard. I ordered this as a small sandwich without the mayo and mustard and paid .30 extra to add mushrooms. Cost was $4.99. The roll was a 1/4 size of their sub roll, about 3" long. Few pieces of chopped up "steakems", 2 slivers of sauteed onions, peppers were chopped cold, not sauteed, and they forgot the mushrooms. Went back up to counter since they forgot the mushrooms, I told him he forgot the mushrooms and I said "when you mean small, you mean really small", referring to the ridiculous size of the sandwich.
