I remember a time when Jersey Mike's was just hitting the scene, when the bread was soft and fresh and the sandwiches were made with care. Life was good then. It was an experience to order a Jersey Mike's sub and I would get them multiple times a week. Cut to present day, when every sub I've ordered from Jersey Mike's is on somewhat stale bread, smaller than I remember, with lazily slopped on ingredients. Take for example this photo of my recent sub from the College Park location, probably the last one I will ever order from this establishment. I've included my hand for scale. You be the judge. In recent trips to NJ, I've noticed an increase in sub places copying the old JM model - freshly sliced toppings, fresh bread, made to order with love. Do not fear, all hope is not lost. Jersey Mike's is my all time favorite place to get a (cold) sub. Maybe it's the "juice" maybe it's the spices, or maybe it's the freshly sliced deli meats. I ain't quite out my finger on what it is but whatever IT is keeps me going back! They have daily deals and interchange the subs daily. My all time favorite is the club sub. Why? BACON! YUM! Pleeassssseeee for the love of sandwich's can a manager please retrain who puts your to go orders together. Every time that we order online for delivery our order is incorrect or items are missing. When we pick up from spot they always look like a deer in headlights when they are putting orders together and we have to double check it and have it corrected on the spot. One hour to come home from Universal, grab lunch and take it home to my sick teen, Jersey Mike's to the rescue! Never having been here before I was wondering what these sizes meant (I needed tuna sandwiches for 3 people) and although super busy, the first person who took care of me took the time to explain the sizes with a smile and as if I were the only person there (a 6th star to all of the guys there for calling me "miss"). The gentleman behind me even chimed in to help me, he was super sweet and didn't make me feel like I was imposing on his lunch hour. So I decided a giant tuna for 3 people would be the best option. On to sandwich maker #2, also genuinely nice and when I asked if I could have red pepper on only 1/2 the sandwich, not only did he agree, but even OFFERED to mark the paper where it was. (Extra star for you, big boy). Then the sweet guy at the register asked if we wanted anything else and we said no, he offered a glass for WATER. My mind was blown. To offer was very kind and proved the attention to detail when it comes to customer service is #1! I know I am harping on what unnecessarily wretched, soul suckingly bad service I always got in the city I previously lived in, but OH MY DEAR (insert deity here)! If you asked for a glass for water anywhere there, you would get a glare and a sigh as if the glass were gold or I was trying to steal pop. Which I don't drink. I love this place, although being pescetarian my options are limited here, I will definitely come back for some delicious tuna sammies again. Jersey Mikes is one of my favorite places to get a good sub sandwich. Some coworkers and I stop here for lunch because of its location and how close it is to our office. I have to say during lunch the line can get long; however, you never wait long. They have a system and it works very well. I usually get the Chicken Philly....can you say DELISH! It's always made the way I like it, mouthwatering and tasty! Even though it's a small place you have the option to dine inside or outside. My only gripe is the parking. They share a parking lot, which is extremely small with two other businesses; which is ridiculous. So you have to park in the adjacent parking lot of a church if nothing is available. This is a true northern hoagie shop my dears! How can you tell? They slice their cold cuts right in front of you, THIN slices! Mike's Way consists of lettuce, tomato and onion along with vinegar, oil and spices... basically oregano. Yum! It's made perfectly, just like up home. Stacked with cold cuts and seasoned perfect on some pretty good bread. It's not northern bread but it's good. The staff here is awesome. Each time I stop in here they are on point. I can't stay away from the regular 11 on white or I would have tried a Philly steak by now. The 11 is ham, salami and provolone, just like a hoagie up in Philly. Delicious. Aweful. I ask for a large size sub and they give me a $15 gigantic sub. Terrible word analogy. Confuse the shit out of people to get their money. 2nd. I asked for it toasted and was told they don't toast subs. When I saw the grill I asked for it to be placed and pressed on the grill and was told no cause of cross contamination with the chicken that was cooked on the grill earlier. ARE YOU SERIOUS??!! The grill should be Hot enough to burn any chicken residue let alone it should be cleaned. Wtf. I hate giving these places a try. Jersey mikes and jimmy johns. Both terrible sub companies. They were packed at 11:30 in the morning, as expected, with most people opting for The Original Italian #13 -- Provolone, ham, poscuittini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. I chose the tuna. Choices for bread are white and, well, white. Or you can go with the Sub in a Tub, any sub without the bread, for the same price as the sub. Parking will be a problem. read more

This Jersey Mike's location is relatively new, having opened sometime within the last 2 months (I'd guess). It's in the same spot formerly inhabited by Quizno's. As Tom B. pointed out, parking may be an issue here since there are limited spots nearby and along Edgewater Drive and only a tiny parking lot adjacent to the building that houses this eatery as well as the neighboring Hair Cuttery and, at this time, a vacant space. (The vacant space soon will be populated by some sort of dessert- or frozen yogurt-based shop and appears to be set to open this summer.) Every time I've eaten at this location, I've ordered the vegetarian sandwich, which has both Swiss AND Provolone cheeses (awesome!) as well as green bell peppers. I get my vegetarian sandwich "Mike's Way," which entails the addition of onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil and spices. As if that isn't enough, I also get both pickles and banana peppers on mine. It looks great and tastes even better. This probably is exactly the type of sandwich you can get at other sandwich shops, but Jersey Mike's does it at least as good as Publix would do the same thing ... and I really like Publix subs. Let's call it a tie for now. The people here have been friendly and personable during each of my visits. I have not gone during the lunch rush, so I'm unsure just how busy this location is then, but Tom B. probably hit the nail on the head when he said the shop was packed at around 11:30. Every time I've been here, it's been for an early dinner (anytime between 6:30-8 on any given weeknight). Things have been relatively quiet during the evening visits as of late, though maybe I've just been lucky the past few times and barely missed a few crowds. I was too young to remember all of this, but my mother said that our family used to go to the original Jersey Mike's in N.J. when I was very young and when our family lived in New York. It's nice that the company has enjoyed success and has branched out and created locations as far away as Florida - I'm glad to have tried it again after all of these years. My mother and I went to the location in Altamonte Springs last year and it probably brought back some nice memories for her. One last thing -- I'm unsure what Tom B. meant in his review when he said that the only bread type available is white. I'm 99% sure I get my sandwiches here on wheat bread. If not, then I guess I'm imagining things. Maybe I'll look into this more during my next visit. read more

Then kept calling so I just went there assuming that they were slammed to not be able to answer the phone. But they were far from it. 4 young ladies sitting together eating and that's all. They do not have any respect for customers or the business to keep it flowing. I is easy to see that they are just there to do their hours and collect a check. I explained to the guy when he rang me up that I was trying to call ahead so it can be ready when I arrived but he just looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. This store sells sandwiches that are much smaller in proportion than other stores! This has been going on for some time now. I had frequented this Jersey Mike's, as well as many others for years. Upon visiting this location around a year ago my sandwich was so small that I actually stopped eating at any Jersey Mike's altogether because I assumed they had cut the size of their sandwiches to cut costs... and I wasn't comfortable paying ten dollars for a tiny little sub. Well since then I have started to frequent Jersey Mike's with the availability of delivery. I'd noticed how the sandwiches coming from my area, and not that store, were still indeed the size that they had always been. So today, after a long while of not eating at the Edgewater Ave. location I decided I would have a sub for dinner being that I was in the area. And let me tell you that when I got home and opened this sandwich I thought there must have been a mistake. This cannot be what they serve as a regular size sub. This would not feed any adult more or less myself. The sub looks like a jersey mikes sandwich, just proportionately MUCH smaller. The bread itself, the amount of meat especially and even the toppings were almost as if they added just a PINCH of each item. I'm shocked that they have been getting away with this for this long. They are clearly baking their bread in smaller proportions, about 50% smaller than usual, and thereby also reducing the meat, cheeses and toppings by that same amount as well. I ate the entire sandwich in about eight bites and am left feeling severely taken advantage of. I would like to believe that your recipes require some sort of consistency across all of your stores but that is clearly not the case with this sandwich. I am disappointed and will never again eat at that location. Shame on them for trying to save a buck. read more
