The Bay Area is filled with sandwich shops and delis. There are traditional sandwich shops and specialty sandwiches. There are some that pride themselves on being "gourmet." Some are good. Some are amazing. Most are just...so-so. Thankfully, this Jersey Mike's location is, well, amazing. A few years ago, I discovered Jersey Mike's. It was located in Mountain View near the corner of El Camino Real and San Antonio Rd. It was a very good and consistent restaurant. That location was one of those "let's eat there" when we weren't sure what we wanted to eat. It was never disappointing. Unfortunately, that location closed. So, every once in a while, we would get a craving for Jersey Mike's. So, we stopped by a few other locations. They weren't as good as the one that was in Mountain View. So, for a while, we basically stopped eating at any Jersey Mike's. On my birthday, I discovered that I had a free sub from Jersey Mike's. So, on my way home, I stopped by and picked it up. It was fantastic. This led us to revisit the restaurant....again and again. Each time, the staff was patient, attentive and, well, interested in making our sandwiches correctly. In other sandwich shops (including a few other Jersey Mike's locations), this isn't the case. When those shops get busy, the quality is sometimes a casualty of the chaos. That's not the case with the Jersey Mike's in Sunnyvale. I guess that is the stand-out quality of this store. It's consistent. Even when it is very busy, the restaurant staff is still individually attentive and our sandwiches have been made correctly. This is what has kept us coming back. It's a bit of a drive from our home in Palo Alto; but, it's worth the drive. Although this shopping center is very busy, there is still ample parking near the Jersey Mike's. The store is consistently clean. The ingredients and bread are always fresh too. It's kind of odd to speak so highly of Jersey Mike's sandwich shop in an area with so many gourmet delis and sandwich shops. Yet, it's the consistency that is so amazing here that keeps us coming back. It's something that you often only find at local Mom & Pop restaurants. Yet, it's very present here. Well done! read more

Duc Huong off of story road for 4$ half size and 8$ full size banh mi. Little Lucca, Grand Leader Market, Roger's Deli in Mtn view, the egg bfast banh mi at joy wok in san jose (get it to eat there, not to go, best deal in the bay), or Marshas lunchbox with fresh roasted turkey daily, harry's hofbrau for the hot or cold sandwiches, or Lees supermaket, Senter Rd, for 3/$10 banh mi at the deli counter or Gunthers in SJ or the fried chicken sw from Vien Dong off Senter Rd San Jose. So many mind blowing good sw places not owned by private equity. There aren't enough locations for them to have enough volume to be price/portion size market leaders. Not worth the $20; only marginally better than Safeway. Ok they slice the meat from a club loaf fresh or they toast the bread. What does that do? The local sw locations who make their own protein instead of using boar's head are healthier and much better price/value. I came here on a Friday 2/20 at 3PM for the first time. Mind you jersey mikes is my favorite sandwich place. I was the only customer and I noticed the container trays were disorganized and looked sloppy to be honest and cross contaminating the ingredients (ex. Lettuce on the onions and mayo on the tomatoes). I asked for extra onions for 2 of my sandwiches and he only put 3 thin rings and when I asked if that was extra, he said "this is extra" and still charged me. I noticed the onion tray was very low so I assumed he was just being lazy and didn't want to cut more onions. He appeared to be rushing through the process to make my sandwiches despite no other customers in there. In comparison to all the other jersey mikes locations, this one has to be the worst one with the worst customer service. read more

We had Jersey Mike's brought in for lunch at work. The roast beef sandwich might have been the worst sandwich I've ever eaten. The meat had absolutely no flavor and almost seemed raw. And I'm a huge fan of both roast beef and rare meat. The sandwich had lettuce and tomatoes on it, and I added mayo, but it needed something more like onions or pepperoncinis or a dollop of creamy horseradish. well, my first time at Jersey Mike's I received a sandwich that was really really good so this is kind of a good review and a bad review because I ordered a new sandwich. Supposedly a new sandwich I've heard for about a couple of months now, but I ordered it and they couldn't make the sandwich. It was on the menu, but they can't make the sandwich. They needed permission because it was a new sandwich and they don't have anybody to give him permission to make the sandwich so I'm really disappointed. Used the website to order a quick late lunch one afternoon when I was in the area. Ordering was quick and simple and my sandwich was all ready for pickup when I arrived about 7-10 min later. Folks working there were friendly as well and parking was easy. My sandwich itself was fresh and tasty. I got a California Club (turkey, bacon, provolone, avocado) and modified it a little to remove the olive oil, extra salt and oregano, then add spicy mustard and cherry pepper relish. I didn't think I'd need extra salt given that there was bacon on there but I may leave it next time for the vegetables. I've only had Mike's once before (at an airport I think) but I'm sure I'll be back sometime to try other things. So far, I think they're sandwiches are much better than other places. read more

Went back after 3 years to unfortunately comeback to bad service again. Old white guy with the beard, not sure if he's the same guy from 3 years ago but no acknowledgment after ordering my sandwich and standing by the register. Just bagging food for to go/pick up orders literally throwing the bags to the counter while a pick up customer is waiting patiently for acknowledgment as well just being ignored. Still bad service. I wonder if all Jersey Mikes are like this and this is their style? Crazy how the register asks for tips. You ignore the customer, throw customer bags onto the counter and you want tips? Crazy. I do like Jersey Mike's sandwiches. They are delicious. But coupled with the poor customer service at the register and it left a bad taste. I felt like, "Well, this lives up to the reputation of Jersey attitude.". I was ordering two sandwiches during a very hectic lunch time. Place was crowded (a testament to the food). Order was taken and I moved to the register. I paid for my food and stepped back to wait for the sandwiches to be finished. The Philly cheese steaks appeared and the server called my order out - so I grabbed the sandwich - but the second was missing. I asked the cashier when it might be ready. He replied, "if you got out of line, I can't help you." What???!!!! Not, what did you order? But just a flat out refusal to help. I finally went to the other server who took my order and explained the issue. He immediately took action, got another sandwich made, and handed it to the cashiers. He bagged it and handed it to me. But what a mystifying experience with the cashier? Is he the franchise owner? Hmmm. Just not the kind of service you'd expect. It was as if they expect you to know the drill when you walk in. So advice - do not get out of line while they make your sandwich. Follow it along and wait till they hand it to you. Even if the place is slammed. They don't track who orders what (unless you use their app and order in advance / highly recommended). If you just drop in to order at the counter, heaven help you. Came by for lunch and I was in and out within 5 minutes. This location had much faster service than the Mountain View location, where I waited almost 30 mins for one sub. I ordered the Original Italian on the rosemary Parmesan bread. The rosemary bread is better than the white in my opinion! It adds more flavor and saltiness to the sandwich. This place is good but in the last few weeks I noticed the thickness of the sandwich has gone down in half. Like now it's mostly bread and a couple slices of meat in it. I take a bite and it just isn't that same good tasty bite like before because there isn't much there. Disappointed with both items. My sub lacked the good flavor I expected from past experience. This was the first time we ordered the salad bowl and it will definitely be our last! It was nothing like the photos that the television commercials showed. Danny DeVito would have spit it out! I rarely write sandwich reviews , as people have sandwiches for lunch, and I brought my own sandwiches for lunch at work, or made my own sandwiches for lunch at home after I retired. And Subway and Togos are far closer and within easy walking distance of my house. Came here after getting a last ditch haircut at Lucky Cuts, before the lockdown occurred December 7. One dude eating outside, the last time for a while as outdoor dining banned during the second lockdown starting December 7. Usual pandemic rules: up to 3 customers inside, come in the door one at a time, masked, standing six feet apart on the floor images of feet. All employees masked and wearing gloves. No indoor dining since the pandemic lockdown started March 15 in Santa Clara county, and no outdoor dining starting December 7. I ordered the $16.50 Mike's famous Philly giant size, twice the size of the regular size $10.50 sandwich. Comes with grilled onions, peppers and white American cheese, and of course a ton of beef steak. Hits the scale at 19.3 ounces. By comparison a $9.75 foot long Subway sweet onion teriyaki chicken sandwich hit the scale at 20.5 ounces. But here at JM the meat is fresh and cooked right in front of you on the stove top grill. Not the prepackaged frozen stuff seen at Subway. You get what you pay for. One of the best things about this sandwich is that it doesn't get soggy when you take it home, and I was walking 2 miles, or 40 minutes to home. Of course almost devoid of vegetables to get soggy. Easy to reheat in the microwave oven, saving half for the next day, where it will taste just as good. And man, is it heavy, as my stomach goes into a comatose state like a bear hibernating. Speaking of bear hibernating, if you eat enough of these you would weigh as much as a bear before hibernating. Would have preferred more onions and peppers and less cheese, but the sliced beef steak was juicy and fresh tasting. Needless to say, I had a light dinner that evening. One final note. As I was about to leave the restaurant I grabbed a bag, thinking it was my sandwich. Associate caught me just in time, as I would have walked out the door with a large bag of napkins! read more

Here to cancel out the impending negative review from a customer who came in looking for a fight. Decided to start launching harassments at the staff over a perceived slight from an employee pointing out where her order was. Honestly, I think she was just having a bad day and looking for a fight. Manager stepped in and tried to shut it down but she just amped up more. He tried doing what every manager tries to do in this situation and get her out the door. Yummy cheesesteak! This was my first time to a Jersey Mike's. We split a giant chipotle cheesesteak sandwich. It was huge! See the pictures :) Friendly and fast service. Ask for napkins-- the sauce will drip out the back. The chipotle sauce is not spicy, but the sandwich was good and cheesy. They also have a birthday reward if you sign up for their reward system. Indoor seating and bathroom is closed right now. But, outdoor seating is available. A good option for a solid fast cheesesteak! read more
